Rowan Atkinson, AKA Mr. Bean, did not play Q or anybody else in never say never again.

Rowan Atkinson played bumbling operative Nigel Small-Fawcett (the first time I recall a Bond DUDE having a sexually-suggestive name.

Oh yeah, I remember now. My bad. He sure didn't play Q though.

Stop it, Greencapt, you're bringing back low-tech high school memories. I think there were between eight and twelve TVs in my HS, all of which rode around on carts with a VCR tagging along. I think a couple of the VCRs might have been old-style-even-then top loaders. The teachers just looooved having to scrounge up a TV for a video lesson; the smart ones would make their reservation weeks ahead.

HaHa. So true.

I don't see what was so bad about Never Say Never Again. It brought back Connery, didn't it? And that's not a bad thing. Well, if it was done now, it might be, but he looked pretty good in the '80s as a more mature Bond. Sure, an older Bond doesn't really quite fit into the continuity (what was that, in between Dalton and Brosnan?), but I think it was a pretty good Bond movie. And Mr. Bean made a pretty good Q substitute. ^_~

With all the differences in the timeline that could be made from a trip, it'd be really hard to live out all your time travelling fantasies. That said, I'd do the holodeck. I could do all of that in a risk free environment!

Exactly, risk free and boring, and ultimately a simulation - fun, yes, but rather pointless. I just had a thought - according to Einstein if you could travel faster than the speed of light then you could travel back in time.... so maybe .5 past lightspeed is enough to have the falcon and a time machine.... But Deloreans are cool.

Superman Movie
Time
This could have been much worse. I have a friend who is a concept artist and he worked on this movie. He showed me some terrible designs, including superman in a metal suit of armour with a big S on the front (and I don't mean like Steel, I mean like a Knight of the round table who can fly). There was also a fully rubber, batman forever style costume idea - it could have been worse guys, it could have been worse.

To be fair, most people don't know that dates (I'm just into history and I have a wierd mind that remebers stuf like that and quotes from movies but I'll still forget my keys). But the general gist of it I thought most people would know, although I'm not in the least bit surprised that people in America aren't aware of historical events in other countries.

Further proof of the fact that Americans know NOTHING about the rest of the world. Although if you weren't taught it Chalts, then it's not your fault. However, why do I know about the declaration of independence, the civil war, the kennedy assasinations, etc etc?

Anyway, the gunpowder plot -

1605: A group of men led by Robert Gatesby, plotted to kill James. Guy Fawkes was one the group. The men bought a house next door to the parliament building. The house had a cellar which went under the parliament building. They planned to put gunpowder under the house and blow up parliament and the king.

The king and his leaders were to meet on November 5.

Guy Fawkes was given the job to keep watch over the barrels of gunpowder and to light the fuse, but he was discovered before he could blow up parliament. Guy Fawkes was put in prison and tortured until he told them the names of all the people involved in the Gunpowder Plot.

To celebrate the foiling of this early act of terrorism, we let off fireworks on November 5th.

the title is correct with the British spelling.
well....I guess the British just spell the word differently than Americans. ADM, what was so bad about Live and Let Die?

Give the man a medal.
And considering we invented the language, I would say that if any spelling is 'incorrect', it's not ours.

Dang, I had all of those when I was a kid.

I'm not talking about the POTF ones, I had the original ones.
