Darth Vader birth scene, good or bad choice?
Time
If we weren't going to see suited Vader in action, I would rather not see him at all and have the 'I am your Father' surprise. I also wish that I could wipe my memory and go back to imagining how Vader fell to the Drak side, etc. I have recently decided to try and ignore the prequels and go back to imaging my own history as I watch teh OT, but I imagine it will be damn hard. I am even considering ignoring the general Star Wars forum and just hanging out solely in the off topic section so that I am not remeinded about the prequels.

Idiot film producer #1 "OK, so there's a plane, and it's got snakes on it."

Idiot film producer #2 "What are we gonna call it?"

#1 "Well, I was thinking either Flight 121 or Snakes on a Plane."

#2 "Both great names man, you can't lose."

#1 "What's that other movie you mentioned?"

#2 "Oh, you mean the one about the Samurai who's seeking revenge on his parents' killers?"

#1 "Yeah, that's the one. Man that's such an original concept! And I've got a great name for that one."

#2 "Hit me."

#1 "Well, it's about a Samurai, so I was thinking...SAMURAI!"

#2 "but the main character is black. I really think we should play on that aspect...."

both together - "AFROSAMURAI"

And that's awesome that you are too, YIYF. I had no idea. What's the stigma toward vegetarians over in the UK? Because being one in the southern US isn't a very popular thing.

Well I live in London, which as you know is a major city full of various 'wierdoes', so being vegetarian is nothing. I still get some funny looks from time to time but it's cool. I've travelled all over the states though and unless you're on the west coast or parts of the East coast, you're in trouble. Don't even mention being a vegetarian in North Dakota!! In fact, don't even go to North Dakota (vegetarian or not).

I used to think there was no way I could ever live without meat and I even used to be one of the people who looked at the veggies starngely, but now it's no trouble at all and I actually find meat kinda repulsive. I do still crave the odd burger or Bacon sandwich from time to time, but I resist and it's fine. My grandmother thinks I'm mad though and is always trying to make me a steak.

What are you guyes favorite Beatles songs? and albums.

NONE, most over rated music ever.

Dude, whatever music you ARE a fan of, be it metal, rap, techno or whatever, you have the Beatles to thank in some way in the same way modern cinema has Fritz lang, Ray Harryhausen or George Lucas to thank. Don't be one of those fools who totally dismisses the Beatles out of hand.

By the way, if you can't name a single Beatles song you like, what kind of music are you into, what kind of music are you into? (I'm not trying to be a dick, just asking).

i can't help but shudder sometimes whenever i see mccartney on tv, though. he strikes me as a bit crass, his continual fighting with yoko, how intent he is on personally controlling the beatles' song catalogue (which was mainly written by lennon, you know?), "paul mccartney's let it be: the special edition remix," the ludicrous price he charges for concert tickets, etc. he just comes across as really unpleasant and egotistical nowadays.

That's the stuff I'm talking about. He's like 'yeah, I'm Paul McCartney bitch, Dayyymm! I was in the mofo Beatles'. And he's dying his hair and even going back on the pact he made with John that all songs would be credited to Lennon/McCartney by changing them to just McCartney. What's the point? I mean, we all know he's a total badass musicaian and songwriter. We all know he wrote Let it Be and loads of other greats. We don't need him to officially tell us. It's just not very cool. In my eyes he is a pensioner wishing he wasn't. Which is fair enough really, but grow old gracefully would ya? Although I've heard that his new album is good.

Hey Gaffer, are you vegetarian?

Pizza stones aside, I am still curious about the world's longest bridge. Nobody seems to be able to give me a satisfactory answer.

I remember I did.

No you didn't. Did you?
I seem to remember that actually defining the world's longest bridge was diffficult because of all the differnt categories of bridges, or something. Just do a google search for world's longest bridge - there is no clear answer.

This is where the annoying lefty hippy (me) tells you to consider trying some natural remedies and makes the irritating suggestion that physical symptons are actually the bodies way of bringing emotional issues to our attention. Not even sure I believe that myself (although I have seen some compelling evidence) but hey, just trying to help.

P.S I hate it when the guy who sits opposite me at work gets up and leaves for the day without even looking at me or saying goodbye, which he just did as I was writing this.

OK, I take it back. Ringo can sing, but within an extremely limited, almost non-existent range. I love the guy though - he was the Oldest Beatle, and still is of course, but he somehow seems much cooler than the other surviving Beatle. It's as if by not trying to stay young and cool, he has remained cool. Can you imagine McCratney with shades an a diamond earring? It would be pathetic. But on Ringo, it's cool. He's also very witty. Nice dry humour, great to listen to him talk.
