And Adam is going to have to get 1500 more posts before I consider him to have passed me. Remember alot of his posts were junk/spam.

A lot? More like most. Actually more like all. Adam on the top ten is a travesty.

i dont think adam care about post count, its more him being involved in ever single conversation whether he is wanted or not, he always has to have his say, and then stick around until everyone is done talking. then he will go away. he is wrecks pretty much ever conversation that doesn concern him.
Wise words from a wise man. Congrats on 8000 posts. Congrats also to Nanner, Warbler and Chaltab.

How do I find out my post average?

Anyway, took me a while to find the party. I'm veggie too so point me to the Soya wings.

P.S What's O'Douls?

Best Animated Feature Oscar Noms: Who should win?
Time
Madagascar is such a 'meh' movie. Definitely not oscar worthy. In order to meet that criteria, a film should be well animated AND a good film. Dreamworks have failed to deliver anything decent (storywise) apart from the original Shreck, in my opinion.

I rememeber when I was doing my animation degree, there was this guy who was hot shit - a totally awesome animator. But his ideas and scripts were so run of the mill and well...just no good.

*YIYF sighs at AWK's super-lame 'replicant' excuse then laughs as the rigged Aston-Martin Explodes, killing AWK. This time there are no remains, so YIYF doesn't need to crush the brain and stick the head on a spike, but he repeats the Ouija Board ritual just to be sure. Before leaving the office YIYF takes one last look at the readouts beamed to his office from the Aston-Martin via satelite moments before it exploded - the DNA reader installed in the sterring wheel confirms that it was the real AWK who was destroyed in the explosion*

*Laughs as the rigged jet-pack explodes, killing AWK. AWK's head falls to earth and lands at YIYF's feet, splitting open as it hits the floor. YIYF crushes what is left of the brain to prevent any possibility of AWK reforming or returning from the grave, and the sticks the severed head on a spike out side the Frobozzco building. YIYF than goes to his office and gets a Ouija board out from his desk drawer. Using the Ouija board, he contacts the spirit world and requests that the spirits stop any attempt by AWK to return from the afterlife in another body or as a ghost. The spirits, who are in debt to YIYF (but that's another story) oblige*

Best Animated Feature Oscar Noms: Who should win?

I am a traditonal (2D hand drawn) animatuon, so let me start by saying how glad I am to see all 3 nominees are non-CG movies (I know they include CG elements, but you know what I mean). I was disappointingly underwhelmed by Corpse Bride, Howl's moving castle was very good but I voted for Wallace and Gromit. The animation was spot-on, the humour was in all the right places, the 1950s B-Horror movie look was perfect. Very classy production that took stop motion to new levels and showed how animated movies should be done - with heart and soul, as opposed to the current Disney school of thought (knock 'em out, straight to DVD, sell a bunch of toys).

I too am fascinated by WW2, Hitler's rise to power, and the final solution. If you guys are ever in England I'll take you to the Imperial War Museum and RAF hendon. While I was working in a hospital I met a guy who fought in the D-Day landings and the Korean War. Of the two, he said Korea was worse.

I see some people saying they find the cold-war era more intersting. I tend to look at the whole thing as one big war that is still ongoing - Colonialism and imperialism led to WW1, which led to Hitler's rise and WW2, which led to the circumstances that gave birth to the cold war and also added to the troubles in Palsetine/Israel. That is a simplified explanation but hopefully you know what I mean.

No Sage I agree with you and apologise - being against something doesn't neccesarily mean you fear it, and I infact believe Homophobia to be an inaccurate term. However, I used it in my statement as a commonly understood blanket term.

My post was just a joke. I don't actually believe anybody is a homophobic here. There are those who do not agree with it, but they are all very smart people who have their own well thought out and argued reasons for doing so. Sorry for any offense.

Allow me to rephrase:

For those of you who have chosen to avoid Brokeback Mountain because of it's depiction of homosexual romance (maybe it's against your religion, maybe you just don't dig that kind of thing), or maybe homosexuality has nothing to do with it and you just don't ever want to see an Ang Lee movie again after Hulk, but whatever your reason I urge you to reconsider because you are depriving yourself of a Michelle Williams nude sex scene. And Anne Hathaway gets hers out too.

Seeing as AWK has no affiliation with FrobozzCo, the above statement is obviously void. I urge all members to ignore any posts made by AWK in this thread. Sybeman is my appointed General Manager. End of discussion. AWK is talking to himself.

My point exactly. It all depends on one's point of view, as well as what a society defines as acceptable. What is defined as unacceptable by the society becomes the standard track of thought, which leads to laws based on such unaccepted behaviors, which leads to it becoming part of day-to-day logic.

OK, I'll drop it now. Just had to get that out of my system.

Gays, inter-racial relationships, transexuals, etc - that stuff is all a matter of choice and I agree people should be open-minded and accepting of it. But Paedophilia is different. It can be argued that it is an illness and the paedophile cannot help who or what he is attracted to. Fair enough. But acting on your urges and basically abusing a small child, possibly ruining their life for your own sexual fulfilment, it's just fucking wrong. There's no two ways about it. Child abuse is wrong, taking a child's innocence is wrong. It doesn't matter how open-minded you are (and I am VERY open-minded). I'm starting to get on with you better Adam, so I mean this in a friendly way, but you seriously need to sort it out.

There's a very good reason why society deems this sort of thing unacceptable.
