I Donated another $10 as well.
I Donated another $10 as well.
mikeverta.com is gone too.
Reel 1 has been scanned! If you would like to help cover the scanning costs, please send me a PM ASAP!
Here are some sample frames:
Yep, that was it. Newsleecher was able to download both of these, while Grabit failed every time.
Thanks for the help!
It could just be Grabit that’s at fault here. I’ll try a different client.
Even I didn’t download all of it, but (so far) I have downloaded and burned 27 DL DVD-Rs (!) from this collection, Great Stuff!
There are just a couple that I could not be download completely:
SWSFCFBDW is missing parts 0-5,7,11,15,20,22,25 & 44
TBSWM Part 42 is incomplete and parts 43 (to the end) are missing.
Thanks for sharing!
Donation sent.
Found another scanner, the film has been shipped and is scheduled for delivery tomorrow, Monday November 6th.
Here’s the original one I created and later animated for The Silver Screen Edition:

110 hours of aerial footage was shot for Battle of Britain (1969), of which only 40 minutes appeared in the film. The unused footage still shows up regularly in TV Shows and movies about the period because today it costs more than $10,000 an hour to rent a real Spitfire for a film, so licensing the footage is usually much cheaper. Also, the production had 32 flying German Heinkel 111 bombers to play with (on loan from the Spanish Air Force at the time), but today there are none - The one featured in Dunkirk (2017) was a scale model. Here is a list of films and TV Shows (that I know of) which used some of the footage shot in the summer of '68 for Battle of Britain - but there are probably more!
• 1971- Dad s Army - Film spin off of the popular television series
• 1972 - The Pathfinders - ITV television drama series based on the exploits of Bombers Command’s Pathfinder Force
• 1972 - Our Miss Fred - Film comedy starring Danny la Rue
• 1976 - Carry on England - Film from the long running Carry On series
• 1976 - Battle of Midway - War film dramatising the Japanese attack on Midway Island in 1942
• 1979 - Breakthrough (aka Sergeant Steiner) — War film starring Richard Burton
• 1984 - The Secret War of Jackie s Girls — ITV television drama series
• 1986 - Murrow - Channel 4 television drama based on the life of Ed Murrow, wartime news correspondent
• 1988 - A Piece of Cake - Television drama series based around an RAF fighter squadron in 1940
• 1999 - Finest Hour - BBC Television documentary series chronicling the events of 1940
• 2001 - Dark Blue World - Czech film about Czech pilots in the Battle of Britain
• 2010 - First Light - TV Movie based on biography of WWII Pilot, Geoffrey Willum
Quick update: The scanner I was going to send this to is a little backed up at the moment - it could take more than 6 months to get the print scanned there, so I’m currently exploring some alternative options…
To my eyes the difference between the warm grade and the cool grade is pretty subtle, so I’d be happy with either. Here’s a screenshot comparison:

It’s always done that for me in the 32 bit version.
Here you go everybody:
Dr Dre’s color Matching tool v1.2 (latest version) for 64 bit Windows*:

Dr Dre’s color Matching tool v1.2 (latest version) for 64 bit OSX:
https://ln.sync.com/dl/89689baa0/6c22akdh-3ct3f4wr-mwmscjkw-5q7xg6hb (10 MB)**
* If you have a 64 bit version of Windows AND you have more than 4 GB of RAM AND you need to color match two giant images (4k or 8k with 16-bit color, or 2 giant 8K size montages of images, then it would be worth uninstalling the 32-bit version and downloading and installing the 64-bit version. I don’t think you will find it is any faster under “normal use” situations.
** Why is the mac version so much smaller? Simple really: in 2014, Matlab enhanced it’s package builder with some new features, one of which is an option to download the runtime package from the internet during install. The windows version was compiled with the 2012 compiler, which doesn’t have this option (or the option to change the icon and splash screen).
Enjoy!
If you have any issues with the new versions, let us know.
Nevarar, I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, but skimming through it I think it looks fantastic - definitely evokes the Technicolor prints I have seen. Great work!
I wasn’t sure so I had to check, but it looks like I do (v2012):
I think I have access to 64 bit version of Matlab - and a mac version.
They should be, though I haven’t tested it. All the images are hosted on imgur, so really it depends on whether or not imgur leaves the gif alone or tries to convert it to a jpeg…
Whoops! Sorry, I broke the example, but it’s back up now.
Added reset buttons to each part of the form, so now if you add three images and then decide to change one, or only go with two just click the reset button in that panel to reset just that image.
Sorry, I was on Vacation. But I’m back now and the print should be on its way to the scanner any day now, so if you are interested in this project and you are willing and able to donate some money, please send me a PM. Thank you!
Ah, well that I can do…
hmmm. I did think about allowing you to edit and delete comparisons, but I can’t just throw those options on there or anybody who comes to the page to view your comparisons could simply edit or delete it. So then I though some sort of secret “owner identity key” needs to be generated upon creation but then you would need to save that somewhere locally so that you could come back and edit or delete, or perhaps I could tie them to your IP address and/or use a cookie… I’ll think about that. I just don’t want to force users to register, login and remember another password…
EDIT: The bounding box issue should be fixed now though.
Now I’m happy! (if that’s what you were going for 😉 )
It’s my raison d’etre 😃
Adjusted the numbering, so now its numbers 1-6 on your keyboard.
