Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side (the TM edit) (Released)

Three questions, Trooperman --

1. How does the stormtrooper dialouge sound in the film? And have you used my Jango lines or are you using a different source?

2. Have you changed any lightsaber colors? (Besides Mace's from purple to blue)

3. In the Dooku/Obi-Wan interrogation scene, there's a part after Dooku says something and there's a close-up of Obi-Wan from the back of his head but you can tell by the way his head is nodding that he's saying something. I don't have the video on my computer any more, so I can't tell you the exact part where it happened, but it really annoyed me. I was wondering if you going to fix that.

Help Wanted: Can anyone do a STORMTROOPER imitation
Time
What kind of new dialogue have you written for the stormtroopers, Trooperman?

EDIT: Now that I think of it, I HAVE a cool old microphone hooked up to my computer. My brother does a lot of music recording on my Dell so I know a thing or two about audio recording.

Let me know what you'd want me to record and I'd be more than happy to, Trooperman.

I have a new idea for some music for the Obi-Wan/Dooku scene.

It's also from "KOTOR." If you can rip the music from the game, then it's the segment entitled "mus_a_100."

Have it start just after Dooku mentions Qui-Gon, and everything syncs up quite well. There's even a "revelation" fanfare when Dooku speaks Darth Sidious' name. Lastly, there's a bit of a tense, militaristic moment when Dooku aks Obi-Wan to join him. The music then becomes quite and serene as Obi-Wan calmly rejects his offer.

Oh yeah, and Trooperman, Jango has two lines in his helmet, the other being, "Don't move, Jedi!"

And guys, how do you edit a post?

Trooperman, I have the exact march for the clone parade scene.

http://www.griskey.com/music.php

Download the track titled "KOTOR March (End Credits)"

I think that would be absolutely PERFECT for the clone parade scene. It has a build up, that menacing quality, and, I think with the right editing, a suitable length. Let me know what you think.

And Trooperman, will you be adding the "OT-trooper" voice effect to the clones in SOTD? You know, it's that "click" the trooper's helmets make whenever they speak a line. I think that would go a long way towards establishing a connection between your SOTD and the classic trilogy.

I just had a good idea for the Anakin/Dooku exchange.

ANAKIN: “Your attempt on Padme’s life will cost you, Dooku. Prepare to meet your destiny.”
DOOKU: “Forget the girl. She’s replaceable.”
ANAKIN: “But your head isn’t.”
DOOKU: “I see you get as much fulfillment out of killing as I do.”
ANAKIN: “In your case, YES!” Anakin charges.

The music in the prequels.

I wanted to hear a new main title theme, to differentiate the PT from the OT and to maintain the integrity of the Main Titles as Luke's Theme. Imagine, ten years from now, some kid watches the PT and kind of likes it. Then he puts in Episode IV, hears a completely new, bombastic, exciting score and reads the words, "A New Hope." That could've been awesome.

What would you want it to sound like? Can you think of any other movie themes you'd compare it to?

Ha, that's funny, I thought the PT score was one of the few strong things about those films. If anything, the down-to-the-wire editing of the films was the music's downfall. That can hardly be blamed on Williams (look at AOTC for the worst offenses).

I don't think the PT scores were as good as the OT scores, but they were still pretty solid. They were definitely "interesting." In many cases, they didn't carry the same tone as the OT scores, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. For example, it seems like the OT scores were more "brassy" while the PT scores favored the use of more woodwind instrumention. Lots more choral work, indeed. We also have some interesting musical choices throughout (including the electric guitar during the speeder chase in AOTC, that "Arabic" sounding music during the arrival on Tatooine in the same film, synthesizer in "Padme's Ruminations," etc.)

I didn't like it that John included lyrics into the music it just made it sound like a cheap attempt at trying to convey drama.

Yeah, because that would REALLY bother the many amongst us who understand Sanskrit fluently.
