I want something not bombastic at all, sort of melancholy and sad. But in that same thought, something not too slow, because, after all, it is a duel.

Hey Guys,

I am DESPERATELY attempting to make an edit of the fateful duel in ANH with all the bells and whistles thrown in: new lightsaber effects, a freshly polished-up Vader, some orange saber burns on the walls nearby, and last, but certainly not least…music.

For the life of me, I CANNOT find suitable music for this scene. Every edit I’ve seen has layed the track, “Anakin VS. Obi-Wan” from ROTS over this scene. I’m sorry, but it just doesn’t work. It’s far too quick and bombastic for this slow, seemingly meandering duel to jive with. My point is, I really, really need help to come up with music appropriate for this scene.

Now, I’m certain that there are people on this board who have knowledge of musical scores enough to answer my prayers. The track doesn’t even have to be from the Star Wars films (Frankly, I think I’ve exhausted any and all SW music that might fit into this scene). It could be from any other Williams-penned score, Shore, Howard or ANYTHING in between.

If you guys have any suggestions at all, please post them here. Your help would be much appreciated.

Episodes I-III Rewritten

Read it from the "Prologue" up. It's a feasible take on the Anakin/Vader as separate entities idea.

Some of the nonsense during the space battle maybe. Maybe find a way to edit the balcony scene and cut out the Younglings slaughter.

ditto. After reading all of the recent posts about music, I think that the soundtrack is actually what I'm most excited about. I can't wait to experience the new and improved movie in general, though.

Yeah, the music was definitely one of the weaker parts of AOTC. That's why I look forward to seeing what other film scores will do for this film.

Nice job again, MQ. Is there anyway maybe you could do a sample of adding some Battle of Yavin/Battle of Hoth music to the Battle of Geonosis in AOTC? The music in there is so generic and over-used. I'm sure you could do wonders with that scene.
