Holy SHIT that looks great. I am certainly interested in a how-to and English version.

Here is my idea for this:
- 4:3 Pan and scan for the movie footage for HD movie footage and consistent aspect ratio
- Video should be in 4:3, not 16:9 with black bars.
Why?
While we’re on the topic of ESB soundtracks, this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8MpzMUD4Gg) shows that Luke’s “You were lucky to get out of there” line heard in the 70mm and SE tracks was on-set dialogue. Just something interesting that I found out recently.
Checked through the 70mm in-theater recording and it shows that line is not present. Intead it is “It’s lucky you don’t taste very good” like in the stereo mix.
Huh, wasn’t aware of this.

I wish people would realize that this thread is not form Myspleen invites…
Nor is it formed from Myspleen invites…
Well actually it might be, I can’t see the code.
It definitely is.

First post edited to include To Kill a Mockingbird.
There may be types of foil sticker stuff you could put on there to make it shiny.
Hi, everyone! I have been looking for the elusive Part 3 to “The Adventure Begins” for quite some time now. Can someone PM me to it? Thanks!
No, that’s not how it works here.
Here’s some work in progress v2.5 Hoth battle footage compared to other versions:

Make sure to watch in 4K, even if you don’t have a 4K screen, because the compression is much better.
IsS this cleaned up Grindhouse or is there some Blu Ray in there too?
Maybe they are trying to disguise the fact that the wear and scrapes on Luke’s canopy are, through an amazing co-incidence, exactly the same scrape and wear marks as everyone else’s speeder canopies. ;^)
Does anyone know if these are on the Blu Ray or GOUT or anything else for that matter?
The RotJ Grindhouse is really atmospheric; there’s something very gritty about this, perhaps more so than TN1’s ESB. I’m curious about the dirt and scratches on RotJ, however: they mostly seem to be bright green. What’s the underlying cause of this?
Bluto
I’ve been wondering about this too. It seems strange to me that they’d be any color besides black.
Anything that removes the weird pinks and greens is great!
Can I also get a PM with dl instructions? Thx!
They are in the very first post.
^PM sent.
These requests should really be directed to the spleen forums. Why they keep being directed here is confusing.
Because people keep sending them invites here. I don’t think I’ve seen any of those people come back.

As for the “un-faded Australian print” I have no idea how it’s possible - my guess is it might have been struck much later for example in 1983 or something; or it could be a pre-release print made a year earlier than the release prints, or there could be some other reason.
It could be a low fade dupe made by a collector.
I know AoTC and ROTS have a hard time restoring the film versions of their theatrical release…
Not ROTS. The only difference between the theatrical and DVD is a cut vs. a wipe. The DVD version was shown in HD so it is available, and the BD has the proper wipe, so a reconstruction would be very simple.
Since this was bumped anyway, I might as well ask: What’s the current status of this project?
The colours look really nice.
However there are some problems in the DNRed video. Watch closely the white door and the white panels behind R2 - it almost looks like some “mist” going from the bottom to the top. It’s not in the “no DNR” versionI’m thinking I might abandon the DNR version. I’m just not liking it as much as I thought I would. Would anybody here be too upset? If anybody needs to use scenes for Despecialization, it will be easy enough for them to add the DNR to the shots they need to mix with the blu-ray…
I wouldn’t mind. I’d rather see the time and energy being put into 4k Jedi than a second 4k SW.
This annoyed me more than it should have: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUZazcUeA98
It’s there as an ISO. Negative1 threw a tantrum at one point and had the MKV deleted.
Which is also better than the MKV, since it fixed an error at the end of the film.
Is this still available? I can’t find it.
The grindhouse version is on the spleen.
Is there any hope that Disney is sitting on a surprise announcement of the original versions of the OT coming to Blu-Ray and UltraHD for the 40th anniversary next May?
I have hope, if that counts.
May we assume from the wording in the crawl that Mike’s meeting with Disney didn’t go to well?
I don’t think that they know any more than we do.
I seriously doubt it is. Someone was probably just mistaking the BD for it.
