They could have bought her out. As I seem to recall, they referred to the movie as a prequel, but I could be wrong.

obviously, with have different tastes when it comes to Bond. I prefer the classic style of Bond movies. That is why I like Tomorrow Never Dies. GoldenEye never appealed to me too much. I'm surprised you didn't pick License To Kill as your favorite Dalton movie. You seem to be the kind of Bond fan that likes that one. Casino Royal was good, I just wish they would have made it more clear that they were totally restarting the series. I don't understand why they kept Dench as Q. If you want to get closer to the Books, why keep a female Q? Keeping the same female Q as the last movie makes it look as though you are continuing that series.
What about Goldfinger and Dr. No?
As for Brosnan, I think his best movie was Tomorrow Never Dies.
For Roger Moore what about The Man With the Golden Gun, and The Spy Who Loved Me?
I agree with your choice for Dalton's movie.
I also like You Only Live Twice. Donald Pleasence's Blofeld was the best of 3 actors to play the part.

yeah!!!!!!!!!!! Phillies win 6-1!!! 3 more to go!!! Lee pitched a great game! Utley hit 2 homeruns!!! What a game!!!! KEEP IT UP PHILLIES!!!!!!
I hate that our plumbing got stopped up again and we had a flood in our basement. Hopefully, we have it fixed for good this time.
I hate the yankees(but not their fans on here).
I regret that you've decided that. I never meant to take the fun of this away from you. I felt like you were doing that to me. But I believe that you didn't mean to and weren't aware you were doing so, and neither was I.
Perhaps you are right about what happened between the Phillies and the 14 year old girl. Maybe I've been defending them too much. I'd still like to hear a statement from the Phillies about the incident, though. Certainly, if what the girl claims happened actually did happen, the Phillies are in the wrong. I'm sorry if I took it too personally.

this really bothers me. I really don't mean to come off as fake. But, you are not the only one who has claimed that I come of as fake sounding. So I have to believe it is so. I want to be civil and and I want to come off as really being civil and not fake civil. I am trying to change. Please give me another chance, ok?
If you don't want to discuss sports with me, that is your choice. I hope you change your mind. I will not stop discussing sports and am still willing to do so with you. Again, please understand, it is not you I hate, just your team. So, when I shout "yankees suck!" or other insults at the Yankees, please don't take it personally. ok? Please let us be friends(even if you still don't wish to discuss sports with me anymore). That said,
GO PHILLIES!!! yankees Suck!!! Revenge for Whiz Kids is at hand!! Do it for Richie Ashburn and Harry Kalis! BEAT THE yankees!!!!!!!!
Next time you're found, with your chin on the ground
There's a lot to be learned, so look around
Just what makes that little old ant
Think he'll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can't
Move a rubber tree plant
But he's got high hopes, he's got high hopes
He's got high apple pie, in the sky hopes
So any time you're gettin' low
'stead of lettin' go
Just remember that ant
Oops there goes another rubber tree-
Oops there goes another rubber tree-
Oops there goes another rubber tree Plant!
Go Phillies!!!

Phillies fan - The events that took place that evening haven't been contested by the Phillies.
have they been confirmed by the Phillies?
As far as I know, they've settled out of court. They filed suit, but the day after, the Phillies gave the ball back. Who are these "several people" you refer to? What documentation do you have? I far I knew, we only had the girl's word for it that this all took place. From the article, the Phillies wanted to wait until the end of the season to talk about the situation, but the girl decided not to wait and filed suit and so the Phillies gave her the ball just to keep it from getting any worse for themselves. I don't think my team is above wrong doing, I just think they are above the kind of stupidity it would take to do what those "several people" claim the Phillies did. It would be like committing PR suicide. My question is, what does it matter? The girl got the ball back. End of story.
In 24 hours, the World Series beings. GO PHILLIES!!!! yankees SUCK!!!

They didn't try - they just did it.
they didn't hold the girl at gun point.

That was after they lied to her, by the way. They told her if she left the ball in the clubhouse and came back after the game, she could meet Ryan Howard and he would sign it for her. When she came back, she didn't get to meet anyone - a security guard handed her a different ball. She had no say in the matter, she was never given a choice. Her mother wasn't at the game, only the two kids were escorted to the clubhouse.
Again I don't think we know the full story yet. I wonder if it was just a miscommunication. I doubt very much that the Phillies would actually try to deliberately deceive the girl. The Phillies management isn't stupid. They don't want nor need bad PR. I find it hard to believe that they would purposefully lying the girl just to get the ball. Might they offer her a signed ball for the home run ball? yes. Would they lie to here and say "give us the ball and will have Howard sign it give it back to you" as a way to con the ball away from the girl? I doubt it. Doing so would be asking for trouble. Doing something like that would be a dumb thing to do. The Phillies organization isn't that dumb. Like I said, maybe it was a miscommunication. Maybe this girl only thought they said they were going to sign the Home run ball give it back to her. Maybe it was a miscommunication between the Phillies Employee that talked to the girl and the rest of the Phillies organization. I still want to hear their side of things.

I didn't intimate anything. I said I didn't like the way the Phillies handled this situation and then I posted a link to the story.
it sounded as though you were trying paint the Phillies as the bad guys in the World Series.
Anchorhead said:
All that said, even if I weren't a Yankees fan, I'd pull for whichever team was against them - based solely on how poorly Ryan Howard & Co handled this event;
It seems like you were trying show reason to not root for them, so, I decided to show reasons why the Yankees might be the bad guys and reasons not to root for them.
take it easy, Anchorhead. I wasn't attacking you, just your team. I have nothing against you personally. You went after the character or my team(or at least Ryan Howard), so I went after the character of your team. But, I was not, nor did I intent to go after you personally. Please, let us both have fun with this. I now very little about you or your history here. I can assure you, you had nothing to do with my leaving the forum before. I assure you, I did not come back to make enemies. I do not want you as my enemy. I do not hate you, just your team(and in only a kidding way do I hate your team). Lets have fun with this and not hate each other. ok?
With that, I take back what I said about the Yankees, if Anchorhead takes back what he tried to intimate about Ryan Howard.
I wish to have fun with this, not spread hatred. Anchorhead, I think you've formed an inaccurate opinion of me.
Dayv can speak for me. I absolutely hate his Dallas Cowboys, yet Dayv and I are good friends.
I don't think we have the full story yet. I read another article that said the mother was at the game as well. That ball was a record setter for Howard, he should get. I agree however, that the girl whom caught the ball should be compensated for the ball. A signed ball is nowhere near as valuable as the ball she caught. But, she did agree to the trade. My question is, when they tried to trade the signed ball for the home run ball, where was the mother? The mother is a consenting adult, if the mother consented the trade, then that is that. The mother should know better. A 14 year old girl can't consent to such a trade, the adult mother should. The mother should be smart enough to know that a home run ball like that is worth more than a signed ball. So the question is, did just the 14 year old consent to the trade, or did the mother consent as well. I think if the mother consented to the trade, the trade should stick. As for the agreement to meet with Howard, I'm not sure why that didn't take place. The article seems to indicate that maybe Howard himself didn't know anything about it. I'd like to here the Phillies side of things.
If you want to make this about character ok, lets do it. What do say about the character of a team that charges ridiculous prices to get into their new "palace"? I've heard they charge a whole lot more than the Phillies who were World Champs last year. What does it say about the character of ownership that tears up one of the most historic baseball parks(and sports stadiums in general) in America just to make more zillions of dollars? Did they really need to do that? The Yankees might as well change the yankee insignia to a a dollar sign, it would be more fitting. The Yankees symbolize greed and arrogance even more than the dallas cowboys. Now, we come to A-Rod. A stinking, dirty, rotten cheater. When he comes to bat in Philadelphia, he can expect to hear chants of "you took steroids!"
26 World Series is enough!!
The Phillies are the defending World Champions and we are going to kick your ass!
It time to get revenge for the Whiz Kids!!!
I say again:
Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck!
Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck!
Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck!
yeah, I think I'll give that book a miss. Sometime, I have to read the original. I've watched alot of Dracula movies, but I've never read the original novel.
DarkFather said:
Interesting fact: It was George Lucas who suggested to Coppola that Dracula be decapitated at the end of the film so he "can't return." That's actually a good idea. Cool, Lucas.
I wouldn't say can't return. Watch the hammer Dracula movies. They found all sorts of ridiculous ways to bring him back. Trust me, decapitation would not stop them from bringing him back if they really wanted to.
Well, the Yankees won their series. So its official: Phillies vs. Yankees in the World Series. I've been waiting a long time for this. The War beings . . . *beings to pulverize beef with yankee insignia*
Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck!
Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck!
Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck! Yankees suck!
I've never had much success using the ignore function. Whenever I've put someone on the ignore list, I've never been able to stop myself from unhiding their comments. But if you can keep yourself from unhiding the other person's comments, it may work for you.
edit: just so everyone knows, I've never used the ignore feature on this forum, I was referring to times when I've used it on other forums.
I wait until its fully tested and until I'm ready to buy a new computer. I also need to get a job first.
