Knock it off.

Why do you keep telling mfm to “knock it off” when he’s making valid points about your posts?

In your opinion.

Also in my opinion: telling someone to “knock it off” when they’re arguing a point rather than making personal attacks is childish.

You have little room to talk when it comes to being childish.

Maybe there have been times when I have become frustrated in debate and have been rude/short and given attitude to people. I am sorry.

That said, I still believe how I was mocked and treated yesterday and ever since I have returned from “hiding”(if that is what we need to call it), was uncalled for.

Much like when a duo of murderous cops terrorize, psychologically torture, and then murder an unarmed man, I don’t really care too much what other little tidbits the story entails.

moviefreakedmind said:

Oh yeah that’s right. He moved his a little bit. Better shoot him just to be safe.

I don’t know how this isn’t bringing in an old debate about cops, a wisecrack(the second quote), and giving attitude.

I will admit perhaps I read this post too harshly:

That teacher has no business teaching anyone gun safety(if I understand gun safety enough). I could be mistaken, but I doubt it.

Why even shoehorn in this little bit of apologetics.

I took it as an accusation of dishonesty. I think it tainted my interpretations of his posts in here(but not to a point that I totally misread them)

If he wants to disagree with me that is fine, it was the way it seem to me that he was going about that was the problem.

How I have been treated lately by people I thought were friends, hurts.

Okay I’ll lay it out for you. I won’t do any other method because a failed attempt would be worse than dying, human weakness would cause me to fail I’m sure. With a gun I need only to get in place for a moment and pull the trigger. I can’t get a gun due to being hospitalized with suicidal thoughts a few years ago.

The only reason I’m alive currently is because I’m on a list. Am I saying I would kill myself right now if I could? Maybe. I don’t know. Probably. But would I have at some point between the start of this year and now? Definitely. But it’s not as easy to get a gun on the black market as many would have you think.

But the praise and admiration for “how brave” I am stops here and now.

This scares me. Possessed, please don’t kill yourself. Listen to what others have said, you’re worthwhile, your life is valuable. Please tell someone in real life you are thinking this way and ask for help.

I don’t think I was harassing him. And I only did it twice. You have done so more than that.

  1. I don’t think I’m harassing you.

I am pretty sure you have been, ever since I came back.

  1. How many times is the allowed amount?

don’t know. I just know I did it twice in direct response to how MFM was talking. You have been doing so, in order to goad/mock and you have done so more than twice and it is clear you intend to keep doing so until stopped.

At some point you just need to stop posting in public again if you don’t want anyone to respond to you.

thanks for making clear that you are trying to chase me out of the public areas of the forum.

I may end up leaving if I must, but not without a fight.

Why even shoehorn in this little bit of apologetics. You know full well (I hope) that this was absurd and incompetent.

Huh?

You often have a stubborn reluctance to condemn things like this,

Excuse me for wanting to know all of the facts before condemning.

Sometimes this can be construed as you waiting to hear a fact that completely exonerates the person others are condemning, not as you simply wanting the complete picture.

I wasn’t exonerating or defending anybody in either case.

Contained in Warb’s paranthetical is the idea that a gun safety lesson in a school can be legitimate but this guy shouldn’t be teaching it based on actions evincing recklessness. mfm takes the view that no such class is ever acceptable and/or any accident is proof of absurdity and incompetence.

I’m not sure whether a gun safety class is acceptable or not, but it is certainly not legitimate for a teacher to decide to do this on his own without the school’s knowledge or permission.

Given the school’s reaction, I’d be surprised if this was done without the school’s knowledge or permission. You’re right there’s a lot we don’t know here.

What makes you think that?

Evil flight attendant murders dog. Here’s to hoping the person responsible does the world a favor and dies soon.

I would love to know all of the facts. I am pretty dogs aren’t supposed to be in the passenger area of an airplane at all. It certainly makes no sense that if dog were allowed in the passenger area, it would have to be kept in the overhead compartment. I think normally pets travel in cages in the cargo hold and not in the passenger area. Just what killed the dog? Being put in the overhead compartment, while maybe a little scary and uncomfortable, would not seem to me to be fatal. Weirdness.

Baggage tends to move around. Being crushed or suffocating are both possibilities.

Agreed.

Some things are obviously unjustifiable. Sticking your dog in a car trunk for a 3 hour ride is also unacceptable.

I wasn’t trying to justify anything. I just want know exactly how the dog came to be in the overhead compartment.

Antigravity boots.

Huh?

I imagine the owner complied with stewardess instructions.

One possibility. I just want to why the flight attendant would give such an order?

Story couple weeks ago about woman who flushed her emotional support hamster when it was a suggested option in order to board a flight.

I am not flushing my pet on a mere suggestion or even a direct order.

I guess airports are a good example of the Milgram experiment or learned helplessness.

Huh?

Or these owners are nuts, especially the hamster owner.

That is another possibility.

I was just thinking that if they tried to force my dog into the overhead compartment I’d refuse to let them, but then I remembered that police have the right to beat United Airline customers nearly to death if passengers don’t comply with direct orders from flight attendants.

Knock it off.

You don’t like the truth?

I don’t like the attitude, I don’t like the wisecracks toward me, and I don’t like him bringing an old debate about cop shootings into this.

Why even shoehorn in this little bit of apologetics. You know full well (I hope) that this was absurd and incompetent. You don’t need to understand gun safety to know that a person shouldn’t be waving a gun around on school property and if he’s dumb enough load it and fire it (even accidentally) inside then he certainly is not competent enough to carry a gun, much less be a police officer. This is the shit I’m referring to when I complain about how there is almost a complete lack of standards when it comes to who gets to be a cop.

Do you know anything about standards to be a police officer?

He doesn’t need to know any of that stuff.

This cop/teacher obviously did something wrong.

He did multiple things wrong.

He had his gun out in a non emergency.

I am betting he was not given permission to be teaching gun safety.

He was probably neglecting the subject he was supposed to be teaching.

He put put his finger on the trigger at a time when he wasn’t intending to fire.

He was teaching gun safety and seems not to much about it himself.
