Can you still replace hard drives on Windows-based laptops these days? I assume so. Just buy a new one off Newegg, unscrew the HDD bay, plop the new one in and you should be good to go.
Provided they haven’t sealed them completely these days like they do with Crapple products.
We’ve ordered another hard drive. We didn’t think to check whether the thing can be opened or not. I hope it can. I don’t want to try to open myself and risk breaking the computer. The real problem is that stupidly, I never backed up the hard drive. So I have lost everything I put on there for that past 10 months. 😦
Did you check out online how to fix a hard drive? Depending on what’s wrong with it sometimes it’s as simple as the read/write head being stuck. Just takes a screw driver to fix.
I had my brother look at my computer, he knows a lot more about computers than I do. He says the hard drive needs to be replaced. I trust his opinion.

You wouldn’t necessarily have to kick their asses, but usually standing up to them in some way, even if you get your ass kicked, will lead to them backing off. They don’t want to get punched even if they win the fight.

I put an end to my bullying problem by punching the bully in the face with as much force as possible. I was never bullied at that school again.
words can not express how much I envy you. Words also can not I much I wanted(and sort of still want) to do the same thing(if not worse) to my bullies. Unfortunately I was and still am on the small and short size and was and still overweight. I also suck at the physical stuff. So kicking the bullies’ a**es was out of the question in my case. No, the only way they could have been stopped is by the adults around me. But God how much I wanted the beat the s__t out of them.

as a victim a bullying when I was growing up, I have to strongly disagree here. Yes, teach kids to cope. But it is not more important than teaching kids to stop bullying. YOU NEED TO DO BOTH. When I was being bullied, the focus always seemed to be on correctly my reaction to the bullies rather than correcting the bullies themselves. Instead of going after the bullies they kept telling me to “just ignore them and they will stop”. This always had the effect of making me feel like it was my fault rather than the bullies. It is like blaming the rape on way the victim dressed and where she was walking and at what time, rather than the rapist. Every time I couldn’t react to the bullies the everyone kept telling to react, I felt like I had failed. It only added to the low self esteem and other bad emotions I was feeling due to the bullying itself. I felt like such a loser because I couldn’t handle the bullies the way I was supposed, that the reason I was being bullied was because of me, rather than because the bullies were just jerks. I feel that was let down by my teachers, the school, and my parents. Yes try to teach the kids to cop with bullies, but also go after the bullies themselves. No, there is no way to totally stop bullying, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try hard as you can to stop them.
Well, it is now confirmed. The problem with my computer is the harddrive. It has bad sectors and will need to be replaced. The warranty expired in February. I feel so fucking cursed right now.
I am having computer problems yet again. On Wednesday night, I left my computer to eat dinner. Everything seemed fine. After dinner, I returned to my computer to find that it the firefox had frozen. It said “program not responding” at the top of the screen. It wouldn’t let me bring up taskmaster. It wouldn’t let me shut firefox down. It wouldn’t let me do anything. I felt the only option I had left was to hit the power button. Which I did. Now, I can’t get the computer to start up properly. It kept going into this thing called “start up repair” I let that run and run and run and it wasn’t doing anything. I then tried to restore windows from an earlier date. That didn’t work. It kept on saying “System Restore failed while copying the registry from the restore point. The registry in the restore point was damaged and could not be restored.” Right now, I have checkdisk running on it. It has been running overnight. It keeps saying “file record segment” and here it gives five digit number “is unreadable”. I fear the harddrive was somehow damaged, even though it is not yet a year old(it is ten months old).
