“We want to create peace between Israel and the Palestinians. We will get it done,” Trump said. “We will be working so hard to get it done. I think there is a very good chance and I think we will.”

At a lunch later on, he was even bolder: “It is something that I think is frankly, maybe, not as difficult as people have thought over the years.”

Sounds reasonable.

Oh Good God.

“Ivanka Trump made an emphatic case for a full-throated apology, according to several people who were present for the crisis discussion that unfolded in Mr. Trump’s 26th-floor office. Raised amid a swirl of tabloid headlines, she had spent her adult life branding herself as her father’s poised, family-focused daughter. She marketed her clothing line with slogans about female empowerment and was finishing a book on the topic. As she spoke, Mr. Trump remained unyielding. His daughter’s eyes welled with tears, her face reddened, and she hurried out in frustration.”

interesting.

I’m not qualified to direct a movie but I sure as hell know that George Lucas has no fucking clue how to direct actors. Your argument is ridiculous.

Besides if it follows that you have to be qualified for the Presidency before claiming someone else is unqualified for it, it therefore follows that you’d have to be qualified for the Presidency before claiming that someone else is qualified for it.

Is anyone in this thread that wants to claim they are qualified for the Presidency(and can offer proof to back up the claim)?

conservative people need to stop correlating a “woman’s right to choose” as though it is pro-abortion.

But it is pro-abortion-being-legal.

Again, from a political perspective, if someone says “that should be between a woman, her God, and her doctor; not the State”, that statement should not be taken as suggesting abortion is always the best and preferred choice. ie. Pro-choice is not necessarily pro-abortion.

I think I understand your point, but my point is that the only way to keep it between the woman and her God and her doctor is if abortion is legal. If it is illegal, the state is clearly involved in the choice.

And yet, the Democratic Party needs to get away from this argument. When Obama said “that’s above my pay grade” people lambasted him for not taking a side. I liked that answer a lot, but people wouldn’t accept it.

I can sympathize with that kind of any answer, but I also can’t blame people for thinking he was avoiding the question.

Unlike Trump, I never claimed I was qualified for the Presidency. I would never run and if by a miracle was elected, for the good the nation, I would refuse to serve because I don’t think I am qualified. If it had been Bernie vs. Trump, I would have gladly voted for Bernie. However, being a RINO(Republican in name only and therefore ineligible to vote in the Dem Primary), was not responsible for the the choice of Hillary as the Dem nominee. Besides, the Dem Primary was decided long before it got to my state. As for the corruption involved in the Dem party choosing Hillary, I don’t like it one bit.

To me, the most telling line in either of the Trump interviews is this one to Dickerson: “I have my own opinions. You can have your own opinions.” What Trump is doing here is conflating opinions with facts. The facts do not come close to bearing out his claims on surveillance. But, if you make opinion and fact synonymous you can do or say whatever you want because, in the immortal words of Jeffrey Lebowski, “yeah, well, that’s just like your opinion, man.”

Opinions, of course, aren’t facts. The problem is that Trump doesn’t know or doesn’t care about that. And his supporters believe whatever he tells them to believe. Which means we are in a post-fact political world. And that is scary as hell.

That was the final part of the article. The rest is worth reading to as it gets into a couple of Trump’s insane answers to interviews over the weekend.

Here is the clip of that walkout…

The quotes around the word “difficulties” are yuge.

Thankyou to the people that voted for him for electing such an a**hole.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/01/us/politics/trump-cbs-interview.html?_r=0

President Trump cut short an interview with the host of “Face the Nation” on CBS after being asked about his unsubstantiated claim that President Barack Obama wiretapped his campaign, saying he was entitled to his own “opinions.”

Mr. Trump, speaking during a prerecorded interview in the Oval Office with John Dickerson that was broadcast on Monday on “CBS This Morning,” grew agitated as the host pressed him on a number of issues, and he reached his breaking point when Mr. Dickerson asked about his bombshell Twitter post from early March describing Mr. Obama as a “sick” man.

“You don’t have to ask me,” the president said, cutting off Mr. Dickerson in midsentence.

“Why not?” the host asked.

“Because I have my own opinions. You can have your own opinions,” Mr. Trump shot back.

With that, Mr. Trump terminated what had been an otherwise genial interview.

I had no idea Trump reads this thread.

LOL!
