Global Warming
Time
This is pretty stupid--besides my views on global warming--after this little stint, Mr.10 post, no one is going to take you seriously on this fourm. This is pretty ridiculous. Even my 14 year old pee-brain knows it.
On the topic of bullshit, and global warming in general (which are related Not ALL scientists say that this is endue part because of human kind....WE ARE a contributor to the problem, but we are not THE CAUSE.
Unlike the theroy of global warming (and I use the word THEROY for a reason---) it has absolutly no scinetific basis or fact-----unlike the opposite side, which HAS ALOT of evidence on planatary cycles and are 99.9 percent certin the this has happnened before--
Beleive me, I dont like tearing down rainforests--and killing the fish in the ocean---but these are miniscule and do not effect the overall planets well being.
Read up before you say something stupid. And, on a more general note, post in the right fourm dumb-ass.

ZigFried's Archival Saga (* unfinished project *)

Noooo! This is a great thread! I have been following it from the beginning, it is such an ambishous project I find myself checking on the hour in hopes of more posts from zig.

Most of you don't seem to appreciate the course this project has taken during its short existence. Its evolution is unbelievable. I can honestly say I have only once seen its equal, and that was zigs other project, the swf editions (which unfortunately turned out to be far to overwhelming for zigfried and was canned). For those of you who seem to only be complaining about this and not realizing it for what it really is, I shall explain.

This project started out with little ZigFried wanting to contribute something to the community. What better way to do this than to make backup copies of DVDs we already own and can easily back up on our own a million times easier than teaching zig how to do it. What easier way to backup the DVDs than download them in xvid format then convert them to DVD. This sounds stupid to you all because you have forgetten to take into account that THEY ARE COPY PROTECTED!! Duh! You can't copy them straight from the disc! So you download them from somebody else who already have the free 3mb software to remove the copy protection and compressed them to avi. (he he, this whole thing reminds me a ratdvd ). However before he could finish downloading them somebody informed him of this free software for copying DVDs called DVD shrink, so he downloaded the trial version of DVD X Copy. Do not ask why. Zig is very wise, he knows what he is doing. Finally, zigfried decided that doing whole new menus would be tricky, so he kept the old ones. He also decided that mailing these out to people would be tricky, so he decided not to give them to anybody else but to make a set for himself. Oh, and he is VERY happy about his work.

^That is why this is the greatest and most ambishous project this board has ever seen! ^

Now excuse me as I go explain to lordjedi the use of exaggeration and over statment as sarcasm. He seems to have taken all my comments far too seriously.

I just read this twice over, and have crashed onto the floor in my chair from laughter.

Help Wanted: WWII style edit of ANH - I need a title for this!
Time
Alot of you might remember, last year I concived of the idea to create a type of WWII story for Star wars An New Hope, most likely making it a single film project---these were some of the main points of the project:

-The film was to be in black and white--or a light or super rich coloring, resembling 40's 50's films..I would even add aartificial light filmgrain---(possibility)
-Charchters wil be overdubbed with their other counterparts-----the Imperial forces will be dubbed in German (using whatever German dubb is avaliable) and I was thinking the rebellion be dubbed with the French, and/or english charchters
-A completely new title scroll and overall scroll structure will be written--ideas of German conquest in the late 2000's or somthing to that effect------------the 4th German "Reich" etc.
-Most likely burnt subtitles, although im heavily thinking about the option of having them optional in the menu, other than burning them into the image of the film itself.

-Its been a year since I have posted this (the thread is long gone) but I have received a major kick considering I moved, have my own computer, with a new laser burner, with a good size hd (im planning to extend, by getting a USB drive, the bigest I can get) and I now know how to use torrents (I have had 2 months of experince-) I guess my major reason why I'm bringing this back up is because I have just started learning German..yes.......(ish speakin de dutch) so I was reminded of this.....I would like to do the project myself----(Im in the process of gettting the Adobe software---premier and aftereffects------Im geting it asap, via BT) but if someone would like to take it and run, I would be flattered--to say the least----
I want to use the latest version of DE Edit for ANh--
Also, I need to get a hold of the German and French audio tracks of ANH if possible

Video Games - a general discussion thread
Time
That sounds pretty intresting.....
Well-I was a big console gamer, but then I just got tired of forking over 50.00 for a copy of a game I wanted (I remember I bought Republic commando and Lego Star Wars when they came out at the same time for 90.00---thats alllooootttt of dough for a 12 year old to be forking over (it was all christmas money) just for the system to become obsolete after a few years-With the computer (which I have invariably switched to, my brother plays the ps2, I play it seldomly) I can play games form 10 years ago with no problem, I can also play all my ps1 games, with a system emulator (Metal Gear Solid, looks better than it does with the Ps1) after some trial and error with the video plugins------I can also surf the web, etc. on the computer-I have tried (under a small budget ;P) to try to emulate the console experince on my PC, with the use of controllers, joysticks, arcade games also are great (I play Metal Slug X from time to time with the full aircraft joystick---thats pretty sick!) with the PC too. Well, I guess it is'nt dieing, but its still competeing with the more user-home friendly consoles (plug-and-play as I would call them) and with the launch of Vista (which is very intresting----You cannot upgrade to DirectX 10 without it-which has pissed alot of people off----) it is supposed to be more and more like a console experince (no more installing--just put the disk in and your there)
Only time will tell---
