Info: Ewok Adventure Featurette - for sale on ebay
Time
The original "V" got released theatrically away from the Yanks, too.

Looking down on 'made for TV' productions seems a bit snobbish to me, really. It's only in the money department that they come up short...there's often as much effort put into the acting, writing, and effects as their bigger budgeted siblings.

Yeah, there's tonnes of crappy stuff, but there are tonnes of crappy big screen flicks too.

I think that the Ewok films would not be any better or worse had they been made expressly for the big screen.

Idea & Info: star trek the motion picture - preservation
Time
The number one reason I like the DE is because it finally does away with the truly terrible matte painting of the Enterprise saucer when the crew are walking around on it. All due respect to matte artists everywhere, but that shot looks like it was done by someone who had never seen the Enterprise...just had it vaguely described to them once. Blecch!

Alien Appendix #3: The Alien Archive (Released)
Time
Hey Klok. I doubt I have anything you haven't got, but you're welcome to anything I've got.

I am "entirely new" though, so all I've accumulated so far is the three Alien Appendices, Deleted Magic, Building Emp, Returning to Jedi, Supes Redeemed, Twilight Zone TM, Monster Squad, and I just got the TV cut of Needful Things. (But the 2nd disc seems to be corrupt. Bugger. He already did me a favour, so I'm loathe to mention it.)

If Meedermow hasn't already sent off a copy of App.3, let me know...I'll be happy to throw one in the post for you.

Waterworld ABC Cut? A ton of info - see McFly's posts for details (Released)
Time
Lorang, yours is clearly the better of the two transfers...the level of filtering that would be needed to bring the other up to the quality of yours would obliterate a lot of the fine details that are still quite evident in your copy. To my eye, yours is the nicer by far.

Shame about the watermark, but hey...the movie's also supposed to be 2:35:1, so sometimes you be grateful for what you get and don't sweat the stuff you can't change.

Idea: Preserving STAR TREK - a preservation project?

I think, THINK, I can get some of the bonus materials that came on the store-exclusive discs (as they're on another torrent site), but I'll check back in tomorrow to tell you folks what I can find.

No need to go crazy-nuts on those. I have all of them, as does everyone in the world who bought the TNG and/or DS9 on region 2 or 4. All those extra-extras were on them as standard.

Problem with Hypercube
Time
Hi,

Am using DVD decrypter, followed by Hypercube to split the 5.1 audio into single channel files...except Hypercube seems to lock up about half-way through the process. I've tried several different configurations, and I always get the same result. If I press "stop" it outputs the files as very sped up versions of what I was after, but oddly, are complete. That is, start to finish, all the audio is there, just sped up by about 300%

Any help here?

Yes I can. Here's a rough description first, just to make sure it's what you're after:

MPAA Red band, then MGM lion, then "I'll be back."
'Trailer Voice Man' speaks along with onscreen text, "The Terminator...is...back." "...state of tha rt 5.1 surround sound..." "...(featuring) newly discovered deleted scenes..." et cetera, runs for 63 seconds.

T-HOPE ULTIMATE TERMINATOR PROJECT (Mainly Released)

T-Hope, the T2 LD does feature info pages on the Guns 'n Roses music video. This is years-old memory, but I'd estimate somewhere from 5 to 10 pages worth. My LD player (and the LDs themselves) are in storage right now, so I can't grab the info for you, sorry.

Also, the Terminator SE trailer you mentioned "from the website" can also be found on (at the very least) the "Ghost World" DVD. (At least, I think it's the same trailer. I'd have to check to be sure.)

The only other thing I would mention is that there seems to be a lot of stuff listed that is still readily available on commercial releases...(ie: T2-3D: Breaking the Screen Barrier, No Feat But What We make, and T2 On the Set) ...just wondering about the decision to include "non-grey area" materials.

An absolutely great idea. The line never worked in ESB anyway, stuck out like a sore thumb. It's perfect fan edit synchronicity to have it back in its rightful place.

But isn't that what this whole project is about? It's not part of the landspeeder that looks like a battery, it's an actual car battery that is not part of the landspeeder design, and is not supposed to be there. Certainly, not supposed to be noticed by people who just can't let go of a 30 year old film.

I'm still wondering if the old car battery visible between 3PO and R2 wil be erased...no one ever did answer that one.

I'm not too sure where this appears. If you could give me either a time frame or what scene it appears in then i will have a look at this and see if it needs to be fixed.

0:43:18 NTSC '04 version. As the landspeeder crosses from screen left to right, you can see the top of an old car battery sitting between 3PO and R2. Keep watching, as the angle soon reveals the entire battery, just sitting there for all to see. Who knew landspeeder tech was so...Earth-like.
