Idea: a Saw Series Reedited...
Time

Well, I'd imagine VII will be about (apart from an semi-unrelated set of trap victims) Jill vs Hoffman.

Only his cheek is ripped, and he's in a room that wasn't designed to be a prison, thus easily gotten out of.

...Not that any of that effects what you would do for your edit ending of course.  :)

Would you have him still get the trap off?  Or you could just end with him in it, struggling hopelessly until the timer runs down, cut to black at zero, and have the sound effect of the trap springing be the last sound you hear as you go to credits.

I've actually thought many times about a combination sequel, but they just keep adding to the story.  I figure I'll wait for VII, which they are saying will be the finale.  (At least for the current storyline, I'm guessing.)

Not that I'm expecting much from the next one, but it's always good to have more footage to work with.  :)

Out of curiosity...[SPOILERS FOR VI]...

If you want to only use III-VI, what would you be doing with Hoffman's open-ended fate from VI's climax?

My ideal edit would not show ANYTHING of Spock until Kirk calls him out during the session meeting... "who was that pointy eared bastard?" - I'm sure there are plenty that would disagree though.

It's funny, when I watched the film yesterday I had that exact thought.  Spock's 'entrance' even feels like a first appearance scene, which would make the edit seamless, stylistically speaking.  Nice to know I'm not the only crazy one.  ;)

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Edit Suggestions

Now that the discussion is leaning towards a school paper, I do have to wonder out loud how needed the newspaper is.  I mean, if the headline is simply "Cleared, Promoted" how is that information that isn't already in the film?

The business with the door to Indy's new office already tells us in no uncertain fashion that the matter has been cleared up.

I'm certainly not trying to talk anyone out of adding the paper, I'm just playin' devil's advocate as to it's necessity.

I think his point is that Indy should only be 57 or 58 in the movie, but Ford was 64 or 65 during filming. So yes, it's Ford's real hair color, but it's his real hair color at 65, not 57.

Check out "What Lies Beneath", which Ford made when he was 57...almost as grey as it is now.  I don't think the difference is particularly noticeable.   ...certainly not noticeable enough for the gigantic effort it would take to re-color it properly.

...IMO.

Yes its just before Han enters the command center. It was shown on the 1997 theatrical release but removed on the VHS release.

Mmmm.   Not to sound doubtful, but the "I saw it once but it was cut out on the VHS/DVD" memory phenomenon seems to happen a lot in the SW community.

Idea: The Turning Star Wars Into A Television Show Fun Thread.

I felt the urge to give some opening credits a try.  It still needs some tweaks, and it may not be what everyone was thinking of, but I kinda like it.  :)

I stuck to just Ep3, thinking along the lines of each film being a season and each season having it's own variation of the opening.

Also, not all credits are in place for obvious reasons.   I built in space for specific episode credits...okay, so most of the 'written by' and 'directed by' credits will be the same, but the name of the faneditor will change.  :)

And yeah, as has been noted by Boon...it's a little long.  I guess I like old school '80s credits.  Boy did those things just go on and on.  ;)

You seriously want to tell me that Vader would be perfectly okay with a bunch of random-ass Joes having such a chance to glimpse him without his helmet on, or to have regular sneak peeks on the private meetings going on within?

If Vader was your boss, would you take even the tiniest chance of getting sprung peeking in on his business when the door was open?

Yeah, me neither.
