Huh, I never noticed that before.

Yeah, Obi-wan cuts off all his remaining organic limbs, making him a full quadriplegic amputee. It is funny, I always imagine that it cuts down on his force ability to an extent (especially if you bring Midichlorians into it), explaining why he’s not quite as force-active in the OT as he is in the PT. Also take for example how Luke got shot directly in his mechanical hand on Jabba’s sail barge, as if he isn’t as force sensitive in his fake limb. (Of course, Vader’s force choke hand motions would then have to be phantom muscle memory related to the force technique and technically not necessary.) (Also, it would really have to slow down his lightsaber dueling reactions as he’d have to direct the force to manipulate his artificial limbs rather than them being directly controlled by the force… Which strangely would be just about the decline in speed we see between PT duels and OT duels. [Obi-wan should have owned him on the Death Star, now that I think about it {unless he had force-arthritis}])

Anyway, if you use the Robocop footage past the point when he gets up and starts walking, you should consider putting an image of Darth Vader walking by in the TV screen he passes by displaying a live recording of him. (at 2:57 in the video)

I did hear this explanation before. Pretty sure it was official.

That was just a guess on my part, do you have a source?

Ah, not totally official, just old EU hinted at it, and then I guess it was retconned later by the Darth Plagueis novel.

Apparently he’s more powerful as Vader in the current canon.

It’s Yoda’s theme! I’ve always loved what they did with it for the trailers.

https://youtu.be/kheDYt93zvw?t=153 (2:33-3:12 you’ll hear something similar)

At 0:41 I’m hearing something that sounds like a finale to a more epic Han Solo and The Princess (probably part of what we saw in that first trailer when we first see the Falcon again) that then goes into Yoda’s theme.

I was coincidentally listening to the album for the first time just awhile ago and I can confirm that it’s not on there. Must be trailer music?

Geez, palpetine voice cameod in EP 7? Holy S***. Palpetine being related to her? That fan theory really makes sense. I didn’t wanna speculate about 8 either cause it can still change but that really seems like they are going in that direction.

It makes no sense to me. I watched that video that’s been going around and it all seemed like bunk to me.

John Williams - The Force Awakens Soundtrack

8/10 Album
5/10 Art(?)

It’s a good score. Has a kinda “western movie” feel in places. It’s awfully prequelly, though, especially March of the Resistance. I dunno what it is about John’s progression as a musician, but his Star Wars scores have lost a lot of their OT je ne seis quoi ever since The Phantom Menace. I’m sure everyone knows what I mean, though.

It’s definitely Star Wars though, in that it has the feel. I particularly enjoy Rey’s Theme, and I also get some big The Ice Planet Hoth vibes (I think it’s the original Echo Base reveal cue, which I will forever associate with Shadows of the Empire thanks to it being the menu music N64 game) from the one motif in Follow Me.

I wish the music played a larger role in the films these days.
