Because the trailer evoked the feeling of a bad guy turning into a good guy.

Yep, him saying he’s going to “pull the Rebels apart piece by piece” really gives off a good guy vibe don’t it?

I’m not sure English is their first language so maybe it doesn’t make sense to them.

But no, Thrawn is solidly an Imperial lifer.

Just a quick question - who is supposed to be that Thrawn guy? At least is he a hero or a villain?

Man, you must not be big on EU or at least missed the Thrawn Trilogy books by Timothy Zahn. He’s an Imperial Grand Admiral and arguably one of the most popular EU characters ever created (not to me but a large section of the fan base).

My partner and I just bought a moka pot, some espresso powder and cups. I usually don’t drink coffee, except for an occasional espresso, and we don’t have too much space in the kitchen, so we never bought a coffee machine, but she got tired of that instant coffe stuff, that she was using for the past years, that’s why we got the moka pot. So far, the first attempt was a failure, we had no idea what exactly to do and the result was very bitter, I guess we have to figure it out and try it a few more times. The only good thing coming out of it was that we found this tutorial.

Second attempt today. The coffe was less bitter, but now the damn pot is stuck and I can’t disassemble it anymore.

EDIT: Now my hand hurts from desperatrly trying to unscrew the pot.

I dunno what that is, but buy an Aero Press and grind your own coffee. I’m a coffee snob and I will drink nothing else (unless it’s real espresso) anymore.

I liked the concept of Thrawn, and didn’t mind the character per se. I just didn’t enjoy how he was written to just be able to get a five second glance at half a painting from across a room and be instantly able to figure out how to totally annihilate his enemy from that. He was never wrong, and almost never made a mistake. I also thought it was dumb how Pallaeon (who was made out to be a very intelligent commander) was always dumbfounded by whatever Thrawn did and was always shocked and amazed and in awe of Thrawn’s every move.

There would be scenes where the Rebels are winning and Pellaeon is like “Oh shit we’re boned!” and Thrawn would just cock an eyebrow and wait until the last second, and suddenly the entire Rebel fleet would implode and Pellaeon would stand there with his mouth agape while Thrawn casually talks about how he laid this one-in-a-trillion trap that he knew the Bothan commander of the Rebel fleet would fall for because of XYZ aspects of Bothan art.

It was just too much over-the-top Mary Sue-ery for me.

But, if they dial that back and just have Thrawn be a very good Imperial Grand Admiral, even if he still analyzes the enemy through their art (which it looks like he does), that would be pretty cool.

I’d certainly love for more original characters, but people have a serious hard-on for Zahn’s books, so this was going to happen from the day they announced Legends, so they might as well do a good job of it.

I can’t make the “He’s finally real canon” argument because it’s not mine and I don’t get it either, I’ve just seen people excited about it.

It’s the cool thing to do now: Mobilize your nerdy franchises in the hopes you can build an Avengers-esque universe by throwing movies at the wall in the hopes they’ll stick while doing as little original work as possible (bonus points if it’s an 80s franchise).

I think the appeal for me is that I didn’t really like Thrawn as he was written in his trilogy in the old EU, so I’m hoping they make him a better character in Rebels. I like the idea of new takes on established characters, especially EU characters.

For some people, I’ve heard they’re excited that Thrawn will now be Officially Full Canon now.

Ghostbusters (2016)

I think when they’re a little older, my daughters will LOVE this.

That’s the kind of thing I’ve been hoping to hear from people.
I know it’s not for me, and I really couldn’t care any less about that. What I’m hoping it is, is a movie for the future generation so to speak.

I think my issue with it is that women deserve a better movie than Ghostbusters looks.

But hey, if people like it, people like it. Even if it spits on the rest of the franchise. *shrug*

Simpsonwave is pretty cool

Hey, I know that song!

I’ve been huge into Outrun music (and some Vaporwave) for awhile now. It’s just so good.

Yeah, Outrun is my jam. I started listening to Vaporwave ‘ironically’, but it grew on me eventually. I’m not big into it, but there’s some of it I can definitely enjoy enjoy.

Vaporwave is pretty hit-and-miss for me, but Outrun gets me every time. Perfect music for driving and doing some deep thinking.
