The Random Star Wars Pics & GIFs Thread
Time

I know I’ve said this before, but I’m certainly glad the EU got the axe. It’s cool to relearn the post-Jedi Star Wars galaxy, and there was far more crap than good in the EU as it was. Not to mention ugly, forced retcons.

I think Timothy Zahn coming back is pretty cool, though. Were I a writer, I think it might be neat to be able to go back and write a character I created from a different angle. What it means to me is that a lot of the cream of the old EU will rise to the top of the new EU: the good stories and characters and plots will be seen again.

One post per hour is too stringent. I mean, the Politics thread would be way less lively if that were the case.

I mean for new members. Lots of forums essentially have tiers, with the new member tiers having limited abilities. You can ask a question with your one post per [time limit], but you can’t spam. Once you reach a certain duration as a member, or post count, your limits can be reduced.

It doesn’t prevent spammers from existing, but it slows them down. It makes it so they have to spend a week or more building up an account just for their several minutes of being a dick-face. Making admin-approved account creation will hopefully prevent them from just starting (and maintaining) 12 of them at once to build up an array of accounts.

Yeah, new member restrictions makes sense to me. Things like no images or links before X amount of posts, that kind of thing.

Wario was banned ages ago, but keeps coming back in new sock accounts. Johny_Sasaki is the most recent iteration. Then he makes further sock accounts to spam off-topic with anime porn maybe once every couple weeks.

It’s been a few weeks now, and this is the first time it’s been General Star Wars Discussion, actually.
