It’s the fact that it isn’t Peter Mayhew that’s throwing everyone off. We’re all so used to seeing Peter’s soulful eyes behind all that fur.
I too am of a mind that the Monster of the Week episodes are the best. I’ve never cared much for the mytharc.
Audio exists for ALL missing episodes, so hiring a cast to re-enact them would cost far more than farming out to a small group of animators.
However, if you’ve still got a craving for Bradley’s First Doctor. There’s this to look forward to from Big Finish:
It looks on par with previous animations. I doubt the Beeb is ever going to fund some full blown CGI recreation of missing footage. That might get into creepy territory though.
I would never advocate for CG recreations. But it would be nice to hire this team again. Their efforts were a lot more dynamic than the recreations that came after.
Yeah I lucked out a bit. I was only refreshing every other minute or so, managed to catch it right after it went up. Someone had already bought out the row above what I consider the best row while my favorite seats were wide open!
Well so much for them going all out with the animation budget. =/

Meanwhile, I picked up my tickets. Just going to be standard 2D 7:00 for me. Double features were about $40. Same for the fan event. Not worth it.

Yup, Orville continues to impress while episode 3 of Discovery was even more sniping and general miserableness.
I hope they’re going all out with the animation budget this go around. Power of the Daleks was serviceable but lacked any dynamism.

Recommended Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings games for PS2, GameCube, GBA, DS, PC?
Lord of the Rings: The Third Age, for GameCube and PS2.
It’s an RPG centering around another party (not the Fellowship) in Middle Earth whose adventures bring them across the path or in contact with the Fellowship itself. The idea for the game was that the Fellowship’s actions are fixed exactly to what they do in the books or movies, so exploration in an RPG as themselves would be limited. However, following someone who is following the Fellowship allows you to go where they went but you can also wander off on a tangent if you want.
Such a great game. Wish this was also for PC.
Never got to play Third Age but there’s a similar game called War in the North that I adore. You’re part of a group of three whose mission is to help support the Fellowship in the background. The gameplay consists of very fun hack and slash mechanics, with lots of varied loot and gear rewards throughout. It has three person online co-op that is a blast to play with others. It’s available on PS3, 360 and PC. And it looks great on PC. Here are some of my own personal screenshots:
