A Princess of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs
Fantastic book! Looking forward to reading the rest.
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I had read up until they leave to start the games before I saw the film on opening night. Was disappointed when the film completely failed to realize various things plainly described in the book like the city. I finished the book after and thought it was decent. As has been said before about the mutant dogs....ugh.
The Stainless Steel Rat by Harry Harrison
Saw it mentioned a couple of times here. Haven't finished but it's been interesting so far.
Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959)
Man, James Mason has one cool voice. Wonderful movie, I really enjoyed it.
Yes, yes. To tim you listen.
As for this:

Some of the pre-production art glimpsed on the Revenge of the Sith DVD does depict Anakin with a mohawk. Could someone have been inspired by the comic?
That looks like it was more inspired by the Droids animated series:

Which wouldn't be surprising seeing as quite a few things in the prequels seem to have been "inspired" by that show:

Probably has something to do with the fact that Ben Burtt wrote for the series.

You are right. The dialogue from Star Wars (and Return of the Jedi) suggests that Luke's father/Anakin and Ben/Obi were equals rather than master-apprentice.
BEN: A young Jedi named Darth Vader, who was a pupil of mine until he turned to evil, helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights. He betrayed and murdered your father. Now the Jedi are all but extinct. Vader was seduced by the dark side of the Force.
BEN: When I first knew him, your father was already a great pilot. But I was amazed how strongly the Force was with him. I took it upon myself to train him as a Jedi. I thought that I could instruct him just as well as Yoda. I was wrong.

The Avengers (2012)
Spent the entire day yesterday at an Avengers marathon hosted by my local theater chain. The movie was amazing.

Bale's voice is so annoying, it single-handedly destroyed the movie for me. I don't care if it makes sense or not, it's not something I want to listen to.
This. I think it's a number of things. One Bale trying to disguise his accent while bringing up the gravel. Two, I want to put some blame on the cowl. It looks like they modified a scuba mask and it seems to have the same effect on the voice as one would. Very nasally and ugly. Combine the two and you have one of the worst voices ever.
Thankfully Dark Knight was the Joker's film and so Batman is not featured prominently at all. That I think saved it. No way Bale Batman could have carried it. I think we're in for a real perfect storm of terrible voices with this new Bane. Nolan must be partially deaf.
Edit: I also can't express enough how much I hate his cowl. The designers didn't take into account at all how it looked on the actor. They can't have...

^ Awesome.
Cabin in the Woods (2012)
I'm with asterisk8. Movie was great.

Nope. Different team at Telltale worked on this game. Closest you'll get is you'll have moments where crazy stuff happens and you have to mash Q and then press E. Nothing at all like the Jurassic Park game.
Been playing the last Aliens vs Predator. Pretty darn fun, very atmospheric with a storyline that fits in with what's been established (in regards to the Pred and Alien films, not the crap AvP films). The voice talent is pretty terrible though. =P Overall I really like it and I haven't touched MP yet but I did a little of that way back when they released the demo.
I'm looking forward to Aliens: Colonial Marines but it feels kinda like a step backward just having Aliens this time around. Hopefully it'll be cool.
Aside from that I just finished the first episode of the new Walking Dead game by Telltale. They really outdid themselves with this. Fantastic game and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season.
The Front Page (1974)
I started out wanting to watch The Odd Couple but Netflix has apparently removed it from their library. So instead I stumbled on this while looking around my queue. I enjoyed it. It keeps a nice pace and is filled with colorful characters. I also apparently have seen it before because I could vaguely recall what was going to happen near the end. Nice film.
Just so we're clear, I'm calling Brak now. =P
