How about keeping Morrison's Voice for an alternate audio option for an ESB:R Purist Version? That could work.

I know what James Earl Jones sounds like. All I'm saying is make the line a tad bit deeper/lower pitch so it sounds like Vader's voice. The line is great but it just needs to sound like James Earl Jones/Vader. And BTW, I live in the US so I listen to films in NTSC format.

I should've been more specific. I meant to say that Vader's voice needs to sound like James Earl Jones for the "Apology accepted, Captain Needa." line. The line as we've all heard it sounds like an Ian McDirmid sound-alike (to me, anyway).

Anyway, to answer your question TV's Frink, I grew up watching the SE Star Wars Trilogy back in 2002 (I was 11 or 12 at the time) and didn't realise about the theatrical versions. But now I enjoy looking at the SE as well as the theatrical versions. And the added SE elements you mentioned were kinda fine to me and should've stayed in Revisited. The Jabba scene was my favorite.

This is what I would do:

-Keep the line "There'll be no escape for the princess this time".

-Restore the deleted scene where Luke goes to Anchorhead to see his friends.

-Restore the deleted Luke and Biggs sequence with Yoda's theme playing in the background.

-The possibility of adding an alternate soundtrack featuring some of the redubs from recent mixes.

-Maybe put Obi-Wan's Hut Scene to it's original version.

-Possibly keep the original Death Star reveal scene, but keep the planet that orbits it and probably add some TIE Fighters.

-Keep the entire SE Mos Eisley sequence

-Put back the Rontos and probe droid back to the checkpoint scene

-Put back the Jabba Scene with re-coloring to Jabba.

-Add someone (a bounty hunter or a droid) walking pass Boba in the Jabba scene so that way it looks like Boba is looking at something rather than nothing.

-Put back the "He's on your tail!" line but somewhere during the big TIE Fighter reveal/battle sequence.

And I guess that's it.

Just search Army Of Darkness Primitive Screwhead edition and bound to find something. And yes, the fanedit does contain the Evil Ash ripping down Shiela's dress scene. Now, if a 2.0 version manages to come out, I suggest the new Universal R1 Screwhead Edition be use as a new source and use Evil Ash's Line "I...live...again." from the theatrical version (the Director's Cut one didn't seem to feel right to me.) 

I know it doesn't crop the picture, I just feel that watching a widescreen film with the bars (Example: 2.35:1 bars on top and bottom) is better in my perspective. But I do agree that watching a film anamorphically enhanced is cool too.

Well, only in my room. My home has 3 HDTVs,1 Plasma, and 7 SDTVs. I'm not a fan of watching films anamorphically enhanced, I like to watch films with the bars.

I think the 2006 OOT DVD releases are satisfying. Yes, they're taken from the Laserdiscs and are non-anamorphic, but I don't watch my films anamorphically enhanced anyway so it's fine for me. The transfers are a little improved over the fan-made ones and look a little bit better in detail (no offense to those who gave us their own preservations). Plus, the original 1977 crawl was recreated with the lower-case "rebel". Hopefully when the Blu-Rays of the films are release, Lucasfilm will learn from their mistakes, and will give the theatrical versions a better restoration treatment.

The edit: Very well and very great!

The presentation: Anamorphic 1.85:1 Widescreen. Sources: Phantasm R1 MGM SE, Phantasm II R1 Universal, Phantasm: OblIVion R1 Anchor Bay 2008 Release. Apparently, the reason why ThomasJarvis chose the MGM of Phantasm rather than the Anchor Bay 2007 release was because he said "We felt that the more washed-out, lesser quality look of MGM's print might better mesh with the restored deleted scenes, which to my knowllege have never been properly re-mastered in any form, even on the recent Anchor Bay editions. We felt better continuity would be maintained if the bulk of the movie didn't look nearly approaching HD levels while the re-inserted
scenes all look as if they were freshly retrieved from an old beat-up grindhouse print rescued from touring a 70's drvie-in revival circuit. The thing of it is, in this particular instance, I only happen to own the MGM release at present, I never got around to getting ahold of the Anchor
Bay releases. So all the start & stop time marks that I mapped out for the edit are according to the MGM print. Looking back, perhaps we should have attempted to use the Anchor Bay release after all."

That, I'll understand, but that's why pencils have erasers, am I right?

That said, there are some teeny tiny flaws. Not alot but just with editing measures. The scenes taken from the DVD releases of II and IV look zoomed in and some scenes appear to begin and end sought of odd. For instance, the scene at the end where the dwarf grabs Mike from the closet and right before the footage from II is used, it goes black for a second or 2 nano-seconds another being the Hanging Sequence where the sequence started near the part where The Tall Man was going to be trapped in the mine shaft and after the Haning Sequence (after the Tall Man says to Mike "BOOOOOOOOYYYY!" after Mike cuts him down) it then goes to the scene where The Tall Man chases Mike at the Mine Shaft.  Another, the scene where The Tall Man is first destroyed by the cold. It's added after the deleted scene with Mike and Reggie in the Coffin Room. This is how I would do it: I would add the first Tall Man's demise deleted sequence afterJody shoots the sphere and saves Mike and after Mike saiys to Jody "Come on" when they head to the White Room. I also would add an exterior shot of the Morningside House before the deleted scene starts. After the deleted scene is done (when the yellow blood splattered on the walls), cut to the door of the White Room and we hear someone coming out of the dimensional fork (The Tall Man). Aside that, ThomasJarvis made a great introduction to his edit. It starts with Mike jumping on Reggie's Ice Cream Truck, Mike and Jody driving down the road unknowingly passing The Tall Man, and the Tall Man driving up to the Morningside (that one is the Phantasm IV opening and put in very well for this edit). The edit is watchable and really worth your time. I for one hope to see a 2.0 version of this with some things fixed and using the Phantasm R1 2007 Anchor Bay release instead of the MGM release. But really, thanks ThomasJarvis for making this! In short, I give this edit a 8/10.
