I know you guys are sick of me making threads about every movie I see

I'm not. There's not a lot of discussion on the "Last Movie Scene" thread.

On the other hand, a creepy little tool like "The Social Network" guy and "Citizen Kane?" I don't see it. There's no enigma, no depth to "TSN." Just a guy who was a jerk and came out on top.

New "Superman" actor announced!
Time

Here's a pic for you Warb.

I think he's a fine choice. Routh came off real young... not only too young to be Superman but especially too young to play a jaded older Superman who'd been gone for five years. Although, that meant he knocked up Lois when she was 16. Shady.

Cavill has a real presense and sense of maturity, even if he is only 27. And he's not a spitting image of the late great Christopher Reeve, which, coupled with the music in "Superman Returns" only served to constantly remind you that you weren't watching a better movie.

I just hope they dont feel the need to do an origin. PLEASE no more!

Emp: The son of Skywalker must not become a Jedi.  >:-|

Vader: If he could be turned, he would become a powerful ally.

Emp: Yes...yes.  He would be a great asset.  ',:-)

The Emperor is smiling because Vader just gave him a cool idea he hadn't considered a minute ago.

Didn't Adywan create the second "yeeeeeeees" out of the ether anyways? That's pretty damn cool.

Yes in that draught the shoe is on the other foot.

I was suggesting something of a middle ground.

E.g.

JERJERROD (wearily) : Lord Vader this is an unexpected pleasure, we are honored by your presence.

VADER : You may dispense with the pleasantries, I am here to put you back on schedule.

JERJERROD (brusquely) : That will not be necessary, we are on schedule, my personnel are working as fast as they can.

VADER : Perhaps I can find new ways to motivate them.

JERJERROD : We are understaffed as it is. Your methods would have... a detrimental effect, this station will be ready as planned.

VADER : The Emperor does not share your optimistic appraisal of the situation.

JERJERROD : I am in regular communication with the Emperor and he hasn't said anything to me but if we had more men then...

VADER : Perhaps you can tell him when he arrives?

JERJERROD  (nervously assertive): I intend to.

VADER : Good, the Emperor isn't as forgiving as I am.

That makes the dialogue half way between his dialogue with Tarkin and Motti in ANH and pretty close to how he and Ozzel conversed.

So what would be the dramatic purpose of this?

We have a Captain talking in a way that makes both Vader and the Emperor less intimidating. He talks back to Vader and is ready to go meet with Empy, whom he talks to all the time. So the Moff, who has no real role in the bigger story, looks a bit cooler at the expense of the main antagonists. What is the benefit to the story?

They totally missed the boat on that one.  No prequel images, no jar jar, no hayden, no nuked fridge and shia in indiana jones, or aliens.  What were they thinking.

I didn't know that the Star Wars prequels and Indy 4 were part of your childhood...

I disagree i think they would be very relevent conisdering the oot is buried, star wars has been sullied and destroyed.  Lucas has tarnished his legacy.

The page was on images that would destroy your childhood pretty much the same as Indiana Jones IV and the Prequels.  Not the behind the scenes stuff like the Rinzler book that made me love the oot version of empire even more and made me even angrier that it is ruined by Lucas and not restored.

Okay, I still don't get whether you're for real, or just trolling for everyone's entertainment, but the article's theme clearly, unambiguously was behind-the-scenes facts, not shitty sequels.

T

skyjedi is a very special breed of contrariness. He's quite consistent and keeps us all on our toes.

The Yellow Wall Paper.

 True story.

I was working at a video store, closing up for the night, and sitting on the counter all of a sudden was a slightly crumbled, stapled packet of yellow paper. No one had been in the store for a good half-hour and I'd have sworn that the counter had been clear.

either you have made this up, or there must be a logical explanation. Photocopies of short stories do not just materialize out of thin air.  Did you ask any of your coworkers whether the photocopy belonged to them?

If I'd made it up, there would have been a busty 19 year old and a bottle of wine in the story.

Also, I don't think most of my coworkers could read.

I look at the packet and it's a photocopy of the short story "The Yellow Wall Paper." Curious, I sat and read it and it scared the hell out of me, made worse by it's inexplicable origins and being the only living person in a closed strip-mall.

I ran to my car and threw that paper into the dumpster before speeding home.

This isn't about scary movies that are good. I'm not interested in straight up quality. I want to know what movies scared YOU personally. What flick made you want to sleep with a night light?

BLACK CHRISTMAS (the original) is one for me. I watched it for the first time, last year, on Netflix streaming, sitting in my office. That's about the least immersive way to watch a movie.  And yet it scared the crap out of me. I was freaked out all night.
