Simone Simon, the repetitive name of the lovely star of "Cat People"
Simone Simon, the repetitive name of the lovely star of "Cat People"
Two women who filled my dreams back when I was watching old "Dark Shadows" reruns on the Sci-Fi Channel.
Lara Parker... aka Angelique Collins the witch
and Kathryn Leigh Scott... aka Josette DuPres the ghost.
and this dude got to marry them both?!?!? Look at those bangs!! Jerk.

If Lucas can't profit from it, he won't allow it.
Yeah, like the Fan-film world, that he actually encourages, or fan-edits that he apparently allows.
I just wonder if someone we didn't have unrelenting geek-hate for, (Joss Whedon? Quentin Tarantino? Alejandro Jadorowsky?) did the same thing, would we somehow begrudge them the right to profit off their property?

"Lucas breathes oxygen! An evil plot to deny the rest of us breathable air? Film at 11!"
Honest to God, the outrage over this man has reached ridiculous proportions.
I gotta agree here. While I'm sure a big marathon screening would be fun, I'm not sure why Lucas alone among all filmmakers is somehow evil for his company enforcing the rules about pubic screenings of movies.
Sorry to the dude, but the dorm common room at my college had to get special liscened versions of movies to show them. You have to arrange a special deal with the service provider to have a PPV shown in a bar.
Lucas' lawyers also claimed that DeVito and the Wicked Monk hadn't tried to get permission to use "Star Wars" material.
DeVito admitted he'd never thought of it.
This is more a case of someone being dumb that Lucas being evil.

Buy a bunch of Legos and put them together.

It was innuendo!
Oh... was that a vagina reference? I never get those.
...
... ...
References that is. Not vaginas.
I dont wanna read the whole thread. How do I make a lego man?

I'd like to deep fry her kitten, if you know what I mean.
I don't know Ms. Mendes's pet preference, but if she's a cat person I doubt she'd take kindly to that.
I'd deep fry a kitten for a date with Eva Mendes
This thread is too sexy. Here's a pic to calm us all down.
Barbora Kodetova makes my Czech blood boil, although I've never seen her in anything except the "Dune" TV shows.
So... in September DC Comics is kinda relaunching/reimagining/rebooting/renumbering all of their long running superhero comics.
This is the new JUSTICE LEAGUE!!!
I'm no graphic designer... but how lame is this? A bold new relaunch of iconic characters (and the pros and cons can be debated for days... and why the hell is Superman wearing armor?) but basically the bottom line is they all look alike.
V-neck? Check. Pointy boot top? Check. Extra seams? Check. Belt pointing at your crotch? 6/7.
Why do hip/modern redesigns of something, just to make things homogenized and bland? Should space-cop Green Lantern and King-of-Atlantis Aquaman really look like they shop in the same catalog?
"Fat, Sick, and Almost Dead"
Nonsense 'documentary' about various vague notions of food health, juice fasting, but mostly innuendos and unspecific claims. I gave up 30 min in.

So rather I would say it is the opposite: Lucas is the one fighting a losing battle. When he is dead, everyone in his company will be doing their best to get the films released. ... ... ... He's already lost the war, we just have to wait around for it to happen.
I really really really hope, for personal reasons, that at some point Lucas flips around on this.
I don't like holding such a monumental film-maker, one whose work gave me so much pleasure and inspiration, in such contempt.
He was in love with new technologies, overwhelmed by the possibilities, plainly hugely insecure, and made the SEs. If he flips on this and puts out a real OOT, in my view all is forgiven.
I recall a couple of my students who played it, and complained constantly that on the SWG fansite they frequented, there was a 'Screen Capture of the Day' page, and no matter what they did the winner was always some Jedi using force-lightning.

He sure was funny in Murder by Death. Probably one of my favourite films.
QFT
I watch that and "Cheap Detective" back to back probably once a year.
Wow. Draft 2 of the first episode is done. While writing episode 2 we made lots of discoveries of what worked and what didn't, so the second draft is a whole lot different, cutting some characters, adding some, reworking the scene order.
Now we plan to re-do Episode 2, then do Episode 3, and then re-write all three again. It's a fun process.
Music note: the great deal of the music will be from John Williams score to "Black Sunday," which is great, and has many faint echoes of his work on "Star Wars" '77.
I think I saw them all except Ackbar. But I was never the spy. :(
Rode it 5 times this weekend. AWESOME. Looked great, fun story, overall a huge awesomeness awesomefest.
The only beef was the video you watched in line. It was bad CGI. Real bad. Fan-film bad. Don't know what was up with that.
Did I mention the ride was awesome?
Isaac Asimov.
Bolo ties and sideburns.
