Me and my kid nephew used to watch "Ultimate MUSCLE" (the sequal cartoon to the 80's version) every Saturday morning.
It had long-form serial storytelling, mainly based on a huge wrestling tournament for the Chojin Crown.
For the final match between Kid Muscle and Kevin Mask... it was preempted by a baseball game and the show was NEVER ON AGAIN.

I like to think of myself as enlightened, and not influenced by advertising, but recently my local supermarket chain redid the labels on their generic brand of soda.
Gone was the plain lettering of "Select Brand Cola" or "Select Brand Cherry Cola" or even "Dr. Select Brand"
Now there are sharp new logos on the bottles, including the renamed "The Dr." and "cherry" (all lower case!). Suddenly I find myself drinking them, despite being the brands I turned my nose up to six months ago.
Maybe I'm not as enlightened as I thought.

I'm perfectly willing to beleive that "the power to blow up a planet" means the power to blow up a rocky planet, roughly similar to Alderaan, not the power to blow up ANY planet.
I'll also buy that the DS needs to recharge. I'll buy that it's too close to the gas giant. It all makes sense. What I won't buy is that all the characters are just too stupid to do it.
I feel that 2/3 of complaints about the SW movies are that a fan invents a rule that's not in the movie, then complains that the movie doesn't follow it.

Han goes from beeing a selfish loner to being a man who understands the value of others. It seems a natural projection to take it to a romance with Leia.
