In this case, I only work with the center track. It contain music in a lower level. Then you must recreate the sound FX. The new music and the new sound design, most often, will hide the remains of music in the center track.

Sometimes it is not enough, you have to use an EQ in the center track, to remove or decrease frequencies that contain the music, without altering too much the voice.

Thanks Gandalf

My new music is almost achieved (95%) and yes it include Vader's theme in a powerfull way, but little more subtile.

Music is 50% of the emotionnal experience...so, a good way to bring a new breath to what has been missed in the movie, and to fit perfectly with the sequence, is to create a new score.

with all the respect I have for Williams (for me the best composer )

Have you already thought about the scene, where Anakin and Obi-Wan are meeting on Mustafar? I think it's one of the most screwed moments, even if it was very important for the plot. That scene is lacking pace and sense. Dialog is boring and the actors are behaving, like they were  talking about the weather. :) The most crucial moment is when Anakin is chocking Padme and Obi-Wan is going slowly down and saying slowly and boring "let her go". The music is good, but not in the Star Wars style. Do something about it :)

Yes I am working on this and it's a real pain in the ass...I love the music, but to cut this sequence I have to remove it. So I am working on a new original music that will change, I hope, the whole atmosphere of this scene. it will be darker, more "percussive".

Good idea but voices are not in the same tone, there is a too obvious difference between : "can you hear me" and "to cheat death"

The compatibility is an essential point to make a good audio cut.

It's not easy to mix voices from different scenes.

Unfortunately, I already tried everything "Padme, your wife, Amidala, senator Amidala" and it doesn't work : the tone, the flow, the sound (even with eq, pitch, speed correction),...are not homogeneous.

The only think I can do is : Vader : "where is padme ?" but it doesn't make sense with : "She no longer as any meaning for me"

any other suggestions are welcome, but it seems hard to do better with the material we have

Change "it" for "she" or "that" (if possible, though someone pointed out you might have done it on purpose).

When Vader says that he now knows the power of the DS the camera starts to shake, though... it cuts too fast to the things blowing up.

Yes, "she" is my first vision, but I was not sure if it makes sense in english (I am french...)

Concerning the shot, I can't extend it too much because I need material for the second strike (but I can extend it a little)

and I tried to make Palpatine say : "yesssss"  or "goooood " but it does not work because the sound space is already overcrowded at this moment...and make him only laugh at the end has a greater impact.

This scene really shows the power of the dark side over an individual.  Vader has just renounced the very thing that pushed him to the dark side in the first place.  Any trace of humanity is dead.  It's all about power now.

In fact Vader seems so evil that Palpatine comes off as the good guy in this scene, informing a man of his dead wife without waiting to be asked.  I like the open mouth expression Palpatine has.  It's like even he doesn't believe how far Vader has fallen.  The evil laugh at the end now makes more sense.  He is pleased with his unexpected success.

This is exactly what I wanted to express with this cut : )

Palpatine could start to explain that Padme is reported dead but Vader would still be stuck in betrayal mode and just shuts down the conversation.

Yeah, I am already working on this other version, but it's not easy because of the music cut

if only I could have more James Earl Jones material

hard one...but I finally took the time to get exactly what I want.

Concerning the music, I am mainly inspired by "Final duel " and "The Death of Darth Vader" to give a great "OT touch" to the scene (and make a music connection between "birth" and "death" )

The true birth of Darth Vader :

(the two first links do not work)

I think I have try that (Vader theme) but it was too hard because of the startpoint and the endpoint, that's the difficulty when we want to change music...sometimes it's really a headache.

I already created a new music for this sequence few years ago...but my samples wasn't good enough..., it sounded fake. Now I have a good brass library to achieve this kind of music, so I will work on it again. I called this piece : Lord Vader first strike

so...coming soon !

and yes, I would be happy to exchange "materials" with Bob, I love his work...I will ask him once his edit completed

(of course there will always be detractors: "Nah, it sounds too much like fan masturbation ('Hear! It's Luke & Leia's Theme!!)

 ah ah ! ^_^

I only try to stick to a basic principle in Star Wars music : the leitmotiv

It may seem a bit excessive, but the original sequence lacks too much emotion...

and this scene must represent also the beauty of birth, the hope etc so, IMO, it's not a nonsense to make it very lyric and romantic.
