The Evil Dead Treasures Collection (Released)
Time

As per your suggestion AvP, I'm now using uTorrent. uTorrent detects the seeders but isn't downloading any data yet. However, the whole reason I first tried using BitTorrent instead was that uTorrent always gave me fragmented files even when it was completed. The problem only came up after an update, and even though I changed to pre-allocate files, it wouldnt work. Do any of you have this problem?
Anyway, it is strange since I'm successfully downloading other MySpleen torrents fine on BitTorrent...
However, thanks for seeding! Hopefully I can fix the problem on my end.

EDIT: All right. uTorrent is now giving me data. I'm at 17.8% and downloading at a low but consistent speed of about 4 kb/s. BitTorrent still doesn't work, and I'm hoping that uTorrent won't have the "fragmented files" problem...

The Evil Dead Treasures Collection (Released)
Time

Oh a myspleen upload would be absolutely wonderful, msycamore! I've seen the workprint on Google Video but would love to see the camcorder footage and the abridged workprint on a DVD.

Actually, it's surprising that this is down from Rapid-Share since the Evil Dead Treasures Collection and the ED II Companion Disc 2 are still up...

EDIT: Oh just saw your post Dark Jedi and now I found the torrent. I'm currently leeching but no data's coming through as of yet. Msycamore or anyone else, would you mind seeding, please?

I'm glad that there is another person my age on here AF. Just out of curiosity, how old are you?

I am actually 14 years old. I was born in February 1997. It's nice to see that there are others, like you, around my age. Out of curiosity, how old are you? Younger or older?

It's pretty tough having good taste in movies unlike your peers, isn't it? I know some guys who's favorite movie is the one they last watched. They haven't even watched anything from before 2000!

Tell me about it. My friends really don't have any idea about the movies I normally watch. For instance, one of my friends didn't know Tron Legacy was a sequel. Another one of my friends watched Blade Runner and tried to pretend she actually got some of it. However, I do find it fun enlightening them with cinema from the past. Do you? For instance, I showed Evil Dead and The Shining at a party and it was a great time. However, my peers seem to not take well to slow-pacing, 2001, or black and white.

One last question:

Are you on FB?

No; I actually haven't gotten into the whole Facebook stuff yet.

EDIT: Oh and thank you Frink.

Raiders of the Lost Ark Alterations?
Time

I was wondering if about all the alterations made to the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark throughout the years... I know of a few.

Ones That I Know

  1. For the DVD some goofs and special effects were cleaned up. The rigging was removed, matte lines were digitally erased, and the reflection when Indiana Jones is looking at the cobra is removed. They were just little clean-ups in general.
  2. When broadcast on TV, they've added CGI when the Jeep falls off of the cliff. You can see the comparison here. Honestly, I don't know why on earth this was necessary. If anything, the CGI looks worse.

However, the other day, I was looking at my 1999 VHS copy of Raiders. On the back it states "The trendsetting movie that put adventure on the map now comes your way in a new, remastered version that enhances the final scenes with dazzling state-of-the-art special effects." When I saw "enhances," I became afraid that they added CGI and carried it on to the DVD release. Did this happen?

In any case, you can also feel free to tell your thoughts about the changes. In all honesty, I wish they didn't do any in the first place but it's not a dealbreaker for me.

Young Indiana Jones... a preservation (* unfinished project *) - a mass of info & ideas
Time

Sorry for bumping an old thread everyone. I just started getting into the Young Indiana Jones series and found myself a bit irritated by having two episodes edited together. Often they seemed unrelated and I found myself really enjoying the one half but despising the other.

Anyway, to get to the point, does anyone have the original versions of the episodes as they originally appeared when first airing on TV? I've caught some "Old Indy" bookends on YouTube and laughed a bit so would like to see the whole unedited episodes. I know a torrent was mentioned but I can't seem to find it.

Blade Runner: The Version You've Never Seen Before (Update: Beta Released)
Time

Wow! This edit looks fascinating. As much as I've like other extended fan edits of Blade Runner, I've always wanted to see a whole "new take" on Blade Runner. Your edit sounds like a whole new view on Blade Runner. Can't wait!

The dailies and the alternative narration sound especially breathtaking. Out of curiosity, are you thinking of adding some visual effects of your own for this?

Idea: a 1997 SE in 720p - from colour corrected copies of the 2004 HD Broadcasts?
Time

Hmm. This does seem to have the potential to be a good idea. After all, some forum members, including me, seem to find the '97 versions less offensive. However, right now people seem to be concentrating on GOUT enhancements or Theatrical reconstructions in HD.

However, if you choose to do such an undertaking yourself, Harmy has reconstructed the 1997 Jabba Scene in HD here and TK-949 has reinserted Sebastian Shaw in HD here

NOW RELEASED: The Godfather: 1901-1980 Epic Edit
Time

Sorry for bumping this but how's the final version doing, FanFiltration?

This is now alive on megaupload :)

Also, I found the Megaupload links but only Discs 2 and 5 are still up. Discs 1, 3, and 4 are down. Is it possible if some kind soul could reupload the DVDs of Discs 1, 3, and 4 to Megaupload/rapidshare/Hotfile or possibly seed the old torrent (which also appears to be dead despite the downloading page saying that it has multiple seeds).
EDIT: Though the torrent for Disc 1 gave no data whatsoever, as I am trying downloading Discs 3 and 4, I'm downloading both very slowly (.8 kb/s) even though it says there is 0 availability... Could anyone properly seed these please?

EDIT: EDIT: Unfortunately, I'm stuck at about 95% from Disc 3 and 96% for Disc 4 for the torrents. Can anyone please give a proper seed or perhaps we could work some sort of mail exchange? Anyway, my Disc 1 torrent is getting no data at all. :-(

By the way, Frink, with all your knowledge of the intricacies of the prequel fan edits, it may be worthwhile for you to put together ten or so "prequel run-throughs" where you pair different fan edits together that are compatible.

Interesting idea... It would certainly be handy. After all, some edits can't be paired, like Magnoliafan's...
