Sounds cool. It would be the first Kdenlive-edited fan edit I've ever encountered.

That poster does indeed look like a mess. Why would Maul be the biggest character? I do see that they're showing off the a CGI Yoda...

I actually hope that this does all right because the fate of the rest of the saga depends on it. For instance, I really want to see the OT come out in theaters again even if it is an awful version.

Still, I can't picture the masses flooding to see the disappointment that was The Phantom Menace again.

Ah fascinating! I'm always excited for an alternate take on ANH, especially Revisited-based ones. Best of luck on it. I too would recommend starting your own thread on it. In any case, a stronger Vader could be intriguing and more fitting in the saga.

Along those lines, I thought it would be cool to have Darth Maul not get cut in half and instead just impaled. It leaves his fate more open, i.e. turning to Greivous in ROTS. Also, I felt it was just there to really exclaim that Maul is dead and kill any ambiguity, which I personally feel would have been good.

Sounds like it's coming along nicely, Puggo. This is going to be an epic release, especially since it employs color correction.

Sorry, Frink. Wasn't following the thread properly. Still, not to beat a dead horse, but I do agree with you. It's unclassy and the website has no warning about such content.

Random Annoyance: I was looking through the digital-fanedit forum and noticed that Antimatter's avatar was NSFW (basically a nude woman). It baffles me that they don't have any regulations against stuff like that. I suppose since Antimatter basically runs the thing...

Also, has anyone actually given the other edits a try, especially the non-AntiMatter ones? Just curious if there's anything worth the download.

That would make sense for Lucas to change the plot for a reason like that. I do understand that their meant to be "kid's movies" but, for Pete's sake, the main character gets burnt alive!  I think that a more believable fall from grace, complete with implications of cheating, couldn't have scarred kids more than that. Anakin overall no longer makes sense in the ROTS that was released.

how might you incorporate the deleted scenes into an actual edit?  I know you guys answered this somewhat, but beyond being an interesting novelty, what would you actually include?

I'm no fan-editor, but I think in ROTS that if Anakin's original fall from grace were released that it would prove invaluable to use in fan edits. It help make a better structured plot. With smart editing, the scenes could come across as very emotional.

For AOTC, a lot tends to be cut out of that film and any good deleted scenes, such as the recently released Lost Twenty, could help make a nice cohesive plot, with sufficient movie length.

Hmm... the dropshadow is another revelation to me. Intriguing.

I believe that there is already a torrent going for these, but, some people may be interested.

Like Sluggo, I would like to see the scenes finished with full effects.

Specifically, I'd want more scenes from Attack of the Clones which were cut out, specifically the ones on the Lars Homestead. In the finished film, that sequence really seems edited awfully to me.

I would also like to see the scenes relating to the original fall of Anakin in ROTS, where he was motivated by many things and not just Padme. It probably would have portrayed Anakin as a less weak figure. Hopefully, there would even be a scene where Anakin suspects Obi-Wan and Padme are having an affair; I vaguely remember that there was an excised subplot like that. It was only briefly hinted on in the movie.

You're right about the subtitles... I don't know why I thought it did. My bad. About Reivax beating it, that could be true. They were indeed close in my opinion, but, to my eyes, at least, it looked better.

I did my own version way back with a combination of Flunk and Reivax with the latter as a base, similar to what mallwalker once uploaded to the newsgroup, but instead converted to NTSC with alien subs and fixed aspect ratio. I can upload it someday if there is interest. 

Oh wow! Can you please upload that if you have the time? Sorry for appearing greedy but the 1997 was the first version I grew up with and a nice NTSC hybrid version would be utterly amazing. If you upload it to torrents, I'd be willing to repost it to MultiUpload.
