ITS HAPPENED-- OOT AVAILABLE FROM LUCASFILM

I may be ordering mine from an american retailer.

That, and you won't have the French on it as well, making the cover cluttered and hard to read.

My whole question is now that he's releasing them from video sources, etc., What's he going to release on Star Wars 30th Anniversary? Is he actually going to make the penultimate set on HD? Is he going to release a version that has the OOT, the SE OT, and the Uber Maxed out OT (with prequels).

Probably not, he wouldn't have anything left to milk then, but who knows?

Info: A CALL TO ARMS FOR THE X0 PROJECT! (was: A SPARK OF HOPE...)
Time
Mebejedi (and the rest of the X0 team),

To paraphrase the lyrics, "Don't let the bastards bring you down." The X0 project is the realization of a dream not only for you, but most of us on this board. You have my full support and I definitely want to see, and possess, the end product. Not only the initial laserdisc transfer, but the penultimate, "cleaned-up" version as well. (Rotoscoping, here we come. WHOO HOO!)

Fixing Xvids
Time
I recently attained a movie on xvid that refuses to be converted to mpeg2 format. I even have a b!tch of a time playing the file. It starts out black and nonresponsive for the first couple seconds (around 15) then starts playing. Once it is playing it's fine.

However....

The xvid file is 2gig and I'd rather have it as a DVD with chapters. TMPGenc doesn't want to open the file, and I can't find anything else that will accept the file for conversion. Gspot says the file is fine. Anyone have any thoughts?

Here's the file info:

DirectShow claims to be able to play the file. The following combination of filters were used:

Song Of The South - many projects, much info & discussion thread (Released)
Time
I just wish Disney would give more attention to one of the most underrated movies of all time, The Rocketeer! The DVD release is so bare bones, it's on a single layer disc. The transfer is horrible. They *need* to restore and release this movie again.

If it weren't for the juggernaut of Terminator 2 back in 1991, I'm sure this movie would have been a massive success.

'Backstroke of the West' with retail DVD quality : FINISHED & RELEASED
Time
Everything works on the disc now, with the following exceptions:

1. The "Resume Movie" from the BotW subtitle screen crashes the program on the computer, and restarts to the initial menu on my TV dvd player. (Yes, both of them.)

2. Button highlights look fine in software players (powerdvd, etc.) but are totally off on my TV dvd player.

This is a great start (movie plays great), but I think I might reauthor the disc menus sometime.

I did find however (just watched the first part of the movie) that one of the subs over too quickly during the Dooku saber sequence. I didn't even have time to read it. Is the original the same?

DVD trivia
On early discs with the DVD release, the file containing the film and the file with the bonus features were each named a variation of "CHARLOTTE," rather than something relating to the movie itself. This was done intentionally by those who created the DVD, in order to keep it a secret as to which exact DVD would be used for the main release to combat 11th Hour DVD piracy. The more common file is called something relating to Revenge of the Sith. Copies of the film titled Charlotte are valued more than standard releases.

Interesting.

And yes, there should only be 6 VOBs. 5.xGB of video + AC3 = 6 (~1GB) VOBs.

I did 5.1 route too the first time. (2.0 each subsequent time.) The thing works, it just won't go into cloneDVD or DVD Shrink without an error. I want to put it on a single disc.

As an aside, what is the label on your guys' disc in windows explorer? Mine is CHARLOTTE. Odd for a SW disc.

New edit:

Okay, ShrinkDVD is *FINALLY* doing it. I don't know what the problem was. I did it exactly the same way before. Oh well. (As for CloneDVD, I think it was because I didn't have the newest version. I need to update.)

Thanks again, Mario!

MAN!!! New files and everything... still get an error:

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.

Failed to open file "H:\Ep3\STARWARS\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_7.VOB"

The system cannot find the file specified.

When I demuxed the video, all I got was 6 VOB files. Where did you all get the 7th? Straight video and second audio track, right? Should only be 6.9 gig.

What am I doing wrong?

As a suggestion, if you're going to reauthor from the beginning...

I'd just dump the initial menu. People making/playing the disc know that it's going to be BotW. Why have the "official" looking version at the beginning, then the "off" menu after selecting the alternate subs on the options screen? People would just throw in their official disc if they were going to watch that version, right?

Understand what I'm saying?

Oh, you should also say what the difference between BotW subtitles version 1 and 2 are as well. (I'm assuming a clean and original versions, but which is which?)
