Mando EP3: A New Path (A Book of Boba Fett Edit) [RELEASED]
Time

The unfortunate thing is that we got a very messy Boba Fett series, but the fortunate one is that we will get a new Mandalorian edit sooner than we expected. 😛

Another option would perhaps be to wait for Season 3 of The Mandalorian to see if you can fit all the Mando stuff of The Book of Boba Fett with whatever happens then.

Anyway, I am sure after the last episode everything will be much more clear.

“Thank you for your work! From the very beginning, your idea to remake ““Stranger things”” for a horror movie of the 80s seemed very interesting to me, but I never got around to evaluating the result of your work. Last week I just reviewed all the seasons on https://yeahmovies.tv/putlocker. Therefore, I am ready to watch the available parts of full-length films. I will be happy to share my impressions soon. By the way, a new season is coming out this summer. Are you planning to make a movie based on it as well? It seems to me that a good horror teen drama would come out.”

Of course, I am looking forward to working on Season 4. And hopefully we can all share our ideas here when the time comes.

sounds very cool, I’d been meaning to watch this show but never got around to it. Would it be worth watching your edits instead?

You could watch the first film and see if this format is for you or if you would prefer a more episodic viewing.
As I said, I tried to capture the essence of the characters and all the important themes of the show.

The Penny Dreadfuls: TV-to-Film edits (Released)
Time

The Penny Dreadfuls is a collection of fanedits based on the same name horror/drama/mystery television series featuring three seasons from 2014 to 2016.

The story is set in 19th-century London and follows Vanessa Ives (Eva Green), a mysterious clairvoyant, Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett), a daring American gunslinger and Malcolm Murray (Timothy Dalton), a former explorer of the African continent, as well as various characters from gothic fiction such as Dr. Frankenstein, Dorian Gray and Dracula, while taking a twist on mythical creatures such as vampires, werewolves and witches.

ABOUT THE EDITS

My goal was to create a series of feature-length films covering the main events of each season to serve as a recap for those who know and love the TV show or as a first time viewing for anyone who doesn’t want to invest that much time.
Since each season has 8-10 50 minutes episodes with various plots and fully fledged characters, it was certainly not an easy project. I wanted to cover as much as possible while focusing on fulfiling each character’s arc, yet maintinig a watchable runtime. Many scenes and subplots were removed or heavily trimmed and OST and SFX were used for smooth trantitions and montages.

This show has always been very special to me and I treated these edits with much love and respect.
That being said, the films that came up are certainly “not easy to watch”. If you find it difficult to watch extra long movies, maybe these edits are not for you. But if you don’t mind sitting back and enjoying films with beautiful cinemotography, rich set design, complex characters and beautifully written and brilliantly acted dialogues, elements of the series I didn’t want to lose, then I hope you will find something interesting in these edits.

THE COLLECTION

FILM 1

Penny Dreadful: Something Within Us All

Runtime: 2hr 43min

FILM 2

Penny Dreadful: Fresh Hell

Runtime: 3hr 39min

FILM 3

Penny Dreadful: No Beast so Fierce

Runtime: 1hr 30min

FILM 4

Penny Dreadful: The Blessed Dark

Runtime: 3hr 18min

NOTE:

Something Within Us All and Fresh Hell cover Season 1 and 2 respectively, while Season 3 is split into two films. No Beast so Fierce covers solely the portion of Season 3 in New Mexico and it kind of serves as a short companion film and The Blessed Dark covers the main plot of Season 3 in London.

All four films are available through PM. Any kind of feedback would be much appreciated.

Αnnouncement

Ηello everyone and happy new year to all!

Version 3 of Stranger Things 2 and Stranger Things 3 are now available.

The first post has been modified covering all the changes.
Those who already have a link for the previous cuts should be able to check out the updated versions. Anyone who doesn’t have it and wish to watch all three films, can send me a PM.

In these new versions I tried to achieve better pacing, smoother transitions and a shorter runtime.
Of course, I am not a professional, but I can surely say that I am way more satisfied with my new effort on these Stranger Things edits.

A Watchmen (HBO) edit that makes Hooded Justice's origin into a 2 hour movie - The Bass Reeves Cut (Released)
Time

I finally sat and watched your Bass Reeves Cut, and I loved it!

I was not one of those who loved the mini-series, but I surely liked it a lot. Watchmen covered many ambitious themes and ideas and it span through many rich plotlines. With your cut you managed to capture the most intersting plotline of the show and you delivered a storng and condensed story, as promised.
As far as a fanedit goes, it was flawless. There was not a single moment that I felt like I was watching a fanedit.

If I had to give some minor notes, I would suggest a different title card (maybe something more stylized) and perhaps getting rid of the very final shots of Angela which looked like a set-up for a potential sequel. But again, this is just nitpicking.

Great job, you really nailed it!

Stranger Things - Film Edition (Released)
Time

Hello everyone, a few updates.

Although this topic hasn’t been active, many people have been asking for my Stranger Things series-to-films edits (some of them providing great feedback) and I am really happy about that.

But I haven’t been quite happy about the quality of these edits for some time now. So, currently, after a lot of practice on simillar projects I haven’t shared yet (including His Dark Materials and Penny Dreadful edits), I am in the process of revisiting Stranger Things.

I have completed Stranger Things 3 with better pacing, smoother transitions and a shorter runtime cutting 20 minutes of the 3h and 22min film that originally was.
Now I am close on finishing Stranger Things 2 as well (I don’t know if I am going to redo the first film, I am actually quiet happy about that one) and here is where I need some help and advises.

Again my main goal is to achive better pacing and smoother transitions and, of course, a shorter runtime, the main issue being the whole plot with Eleven leaving Hawkins. Since it was an unpopular chapter that didn’t seem to affect the main plot, I am plannig to remove The Lost Sister episode again, resulting to a slightly shorter cut than the 3h and 5min cut that is currently sitting on.
However, since I am going for an even shorter cut, I am thinking of removing El’s visit to her mom as well. The film will follow Eleven until she finds Hopper’s files and then catch up with her again when she enters Will’s house, leaving her absence as a mystery. In this case, I will put together a new film (something like a companion film) which will follow Eleven’s journey outside of Hawkins where she finds her mom and Kali before reunite with the gang.

Which of the two versions you think would work better? Would you be intrested in a shorter Stranger Things 2 with a huge chunk of Eleven gone, plus a companion film, or do you think that leaving Eleven’s story out of it would affect the narration of the film?

Any kind of feedback or idea that I haven’t thought of would be much appreciated.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: The Exodus Edition (a WIP)

You have some really exciting stuff here. I love the color correction and your take on Ron leaving.
I am curious to see what you are cutting out of your edit, since you are putting back some of the deleted scenes (many of which are crucial to the film).

(Would someone care to change the thread’s title to “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Exodus”, please?)

Is there a way to remove Bellatrix getting chopped to pieces? I never liked that choice, since it is never established that Avada Kedavra can do that to a person. Also, it kind of takes away Voldemort’s “special way of dying”.

Anyway, keep up the good work and I will definetely be looking forward to check out the final result!

Shazam! The Magic Edition (Released)
Time

I wasn’t a big fan of Shazam, not that I didn’t like it, just wasn’t crazy about it when I saw it.
And definitely wasn’t a fan of the Superman scene, so… you got me at Black Suit Henry Cavill Superman!

Joke aside, having his face in the film is a huge thing, but that is certainly not the only great ascept of this edit.
Without all the forced or pointless jokes and cheesy bits, I felt that your edit had a logical and smooth pacing, nice transitions between added footage and above all I felt that I wasn’t missing anything that was left out of the original cut.

Great work, definitely a must upon re-watches!

Watched the first one. What a great edit. There was just one scene which spanned the start/end of 2 episodes that jumped in time a bit too quick, but tbh I don’t know what else you could have done. Using the airship scene helped with it.

Overall, superb. Great focus on the Lyra story line and removal of all that Boreal and Will stuff which was just just there to pad it out for TV purposes. Can’t wait to check out your second edit! Great work.

Thanks a lot, my friend!
Looking back at it, there are some jump cuts I would definately fix and some other stuff I want to adjust, but if there is one thing I am sure and confident about is the the parts that I left out and overall the story I wanted to cover in this first film.

Thanks again for watching and I am looking forward to your review of the next installment.

I’ve only just discovered this edit-in-progress (and season 1) and am extremely excited to see. The series so far have been excellent, but struggled structure-wise to make it true to the book AND so that noobs to the story will want to tune in each week. And there’s no way you could condense the plot into 3 2-hour movies (ahem cough cough Golden Compass). Looking forward to seeing your first season edit (will PM) and especially this season!

Thank a lot!
Will’s origin was a tricky plot to pull off, that’s why I removed it completely.
And I think I am keeping it that way for this edit too. The viewer learns about Will’s past as Lyra is gathering information about it.

HIS DARK MATERIALS: THE SUBTLE KNIFE

Since Series 2 of the BBC One/HBO show His Dark Materials ended, I started working on how these 7 episodes could work as a full-length movie.
(I’ve already broken Series 1 into two films which are still available through PM… although I am not quite happy with the end result and I am planning on re-doing them at some point).

THE PROBLEM & MY GOAL

While the series captures the essence of the beautiful themes and rich characters of Philp Pullman’s novels pretty well, pacing is a big issue throughout the episodes.
In this edit I intend to restructure some of the key plotlines and character moments, while keeping some of the greatest parts of the series and removing some of the parts that in my opinion didn’t work so well.
Since the series follows many characters in different places and worlds, my goal is to create one full-length film with cohesive chapters rather than present those plotlines simultaneously.
Ι used existing soundtrack and OST for merging scenes and smooth transitions and created two band new montages for the opening scene. I also added captions in every scene where a new location is introduced to give a better understanding of the different places and how they are connected.

The film is currently sitting on a 2hour and 57minutes runtime, which is fine by me, although it could loose 5-10 minutes. I didn’t want to split the series into two films again and I was trying to avoid the 3hour limit.
The project is in its editing process and I am very pleased with the result I am getting.
I am open to suggestions and/or notes and I will post an update as soon as my cut is ready.

GAME OF THRONES - FILMS I-X // & HOTD [Community Thread]
Time

Finally got to watch your cut. And I loved it as much as loved the previous.
The musical composition, the editing style, the dialogue trim, everything was at the high level I was expecting.

I have to say that this film may have been the least exciting for me, but that had nothing to do with your choises. It sort of felt like a Part 1 of a two parts story, since you’ve said you had been working on Film 5 parallelly, which makes me more excited for the next instalment.

Some minor notes:
I liked how you presented the events in Kings Landing with the wedding and Prince Oberyn’s arrival as well as Daenerys’ regime in Meereen. The only issue I may had was about Jaime’s and Bronn’s relationship. It seemed short and not fully-developed, which I guess progress further in the next film.
The events on the Wall and beyond the Wall were also well presented, but I wish we had seen more bits with Ygritte before the tragic event on the battle.

Again, I am a huge fan of what you are doing with these edits and I am super ecited for the next one,
Keep up the amazing work!

In my books a film should never exceed 2 and 1/2 hours.

As I said that’s the perfect runtime for me too.
But in my books a film should also have structure, logic and continuity. And in this case I made the choice to sacrifice the runtime in order to achieve those goals.

So if for example Steve appears in the end of Film 1 with blood on his face, I can’t get rid of his stupid argument with Nancy because that’s where Jonathan comes and breaks his nose.

ANNOUNCEMENT

I decided to revisit the whole project from the start, since I have not been happy with the final result for some time now. Many transitions between scenes were a bit rough and some plotlines may have not been quiet easy to follow.
Major adjustments accured on all three films for better pacing and a more immersive experience for first time viewers and fans alike. Naturally, this also made the movies a bit longer.

As soon as all three films are available for sharing I will post another announcement and update the original post with the new runtimes and changelists.

For now, I can share with you some of the changes I made for “Stranger Things 2”.
As some of you pointed, losing Eleven’s storyline may has not been the brightest choise. So, in this approach
I decided to include her whole arc insted of a flashback later on.
But this choice lead to a much longer final cut. So, in my current cut for “Stranger Things 2” I left out the whole Lost Sister plotline, since many viewers find it odd and hasn’t really anything to do with the overall story.

In order to justify some developments throught the movie, I made two new scenes.
The first one is a dream sequence at El’s mother’s house where she sees what happened back in Hawkins which leads to her return.
https://vimeo.com/411732825
(password: edit1)
The second one is an alterantion of Brenner’s voiceover while El is closing the Gate, replacing his footage from Kali’s illusion with scenes from Season 1 and including a brief appearance of El’s mother istead of Kali.
https://vimeo.com/411737234
(password: edit 2)

While I do believe that losing the Lost Sister plot makes a better movie, it surely creates a problem with El’s new punk look. I can only hope that Hopper’s comment about Aunt Becky giving her those clothes makes up for it.

Now, in case Kali returns in future seasons, I also made another cut with the whole Lost Sister plot in it.
In this cut, El travels to Illinois after finding out about her sister in her contact with her mother in Hopper’s cabin.
