I've only watched the pre-credits so far, and love it! The way they set Zod and the rest free is almost exactly as I was going to do it, but now I don't have to worry about doing the effects. It's such a huge improvement over the original Sup 2. I can't wait to watch the rest...

Thanks Darknight! I just rewatched it and realized I put the wrong email address at the end! Crap!

So to anyone who emailed me at that address and didn't get a response, sorry! I'll fix that soon with a good email address and a better rendering of the superman logo...

Hi All,

Unfortunately having to re-do all the edits that I'd already done in Womble really took a lot out of my momentum. It's been difficult to get going again, and since the new discs are coming out so soon, I've put my efforts off until then. Sorry to everyone who was looking forward to it coming out this month.

So once I get my hands on the new Superman discs, I'll be making this my only hobby, and WILL have it out in February (in time for my annual birthday re-edit film festival). Hopefully you all will think it's worth the wait!

Virtualdub is the way to go. It's free and very good if you don't mind a slight learning curve: http://www.virtualdub.org/

Hey man, thanks for the great reply. I don't monitor this forum often, so I just now noticed it. Great info there. Thanks!!

Hate to say this, but I actually prefer the silver text. I thought you did a good job with it, and it just needed some blurring and film grain to make it match the film...

I have a love/hate relationship with my R200. The images are mostly beautiful, that's why I love it. Here's why I hate it:

1. CD tray jams quite often. Then I have to pull it out, close the CD opening, power cycle the printer and wait for the self test to start it again.
2. If I tell two CD's to print, it errors out at the end of the first one, instead of pausing me and asking me to switch CDs.
3. The ink is damned expensive. $13 for each color (5 total), $15 for black. For the price of all 6 ink cartrdges I could buy a new printer, and dinner.
4. Everytime you replace one ink cartridge, it runs a test that uses up 5% of the ink out of each of the OTHER five cartridges. That's the equivalent of 1/4 of a cartridge wasted with each change. And I've had situations where one cartridge had to be changed, while a couple other were at 5 and 10%. So I replaced the cartridge, then after the test it told me I had to replace the one that used to be at 5%. I replaced that and then I had to replace the one that was originally at 10%. Rediculous.
5. If you are out of any one color ink cartridge, you CANNOT print in black/white. It will just refuse to print until you replace the color cartridge.
6. It has an internal counter so that after you've printed a certain amount it will stop functioning until you take it to a repair shop.

Still, if you can live with all that, the images are very nice...

STATUS UPDATE

I've decided to do the rest of my editing in Premiere Pro. I'm reverse-telecyning the source so that I'll be editing in 24fps progressive video using Huffyuv lossless compression. I bought a new hard drive yesterday, and as soon as it's installed I'll start re-editing what I've done so far. I have a babysitter for the weekend, so I hope to get a lot done.

Sometime before the offcial Superman DVD bundle comes out. So early November at the latest. But I'm a little stuck right now. I've decided to abandon editing with Womble. I thought the better image quality that Womble would produce would make all the downsides worth it, but I've changed my mind. So I'm considering how best to go forward. Any time I change programs I'll have to re-do the work I've done so far, so before I re-start I want to make sure I'm doing things right.

So basically there's been a bit of a stall. I'm going to make time this week and this coming weekend to get things started again.

"RED CURTAINS: Twin Peaks Retold" Fanedit (Released)

Oh... I read too much into your post from Aug 2nd:

This way, "Fire Walk With Me" would be part one, "Red Curtains" part two, and "Black Lodge" would be the conclusion. The title "Black Lodge" is not final...

So you're going to edit the twin peaks tv show into two feature length movies "Red Curtains" and "Black Lodge"?

My plan is to change the flow of the story from cooper looking for the Killer, to The Killer avoiding Cooper, and the dark activates of a small "innocent" town that hinder that investigation and let the killing that started in FWwM continue.

Very cool...

Hey FF, instead of having movie 1 be a re-edit of Fire Walk With Me, please consider using it as flashbacks of sorts throughout your series. This would solve a couple problems:

1. Twin Peaks does PERFECT intros of some of the characters. Those intros wouldn't have the same impact if those characters are introduced by showing the "after-the-fact" prequel first.
2. FWwM is R-rated, while the TV show is obviously PG at most. If you intersperse FWwM, all of your final films could have that same adult feel as a the rest of Lynch's films.
3. FWwM gives away some pretty big spoilers.

It would also contribute to the overall story arc of your trilogy of films since the FWwM plot could unfold over all of them.

Just my 2 cents. Whatever you do with it, I'll experience them with an open mind (and dropped jaw).
