Based on my reading, most (near) death experiences are positive, dare I say heavenly. Of the few that are negative or “hellish,” some of those even describe being pulled from “hell” and brought into “heaven” after death, implying post-death repentance is possible. I don’t know if any of those are true, as I’ve not experienced them, but they’re nice additions to the buffet of food for thought.

I’d be interested to know how many of these experiences, both good and bad, come from religious vs. non-relgious people, and especially those who weren’t religious until very late in life.

Also the murderers.

I decided to add the :p to indicate I was joking/teasing.

You tease, but I was serious. That’s, in part, why I didn’t want to answer your question about Hell at the time. Because I wasn’t sure you weren’t just making noise. You yourself say that you don’t, and won’t, take this place seriously.

It’s not an hard and fast rule.

Thank you for answering though.

I’m in a similar boat with you. I saw and enjoyed all the PT films when I was a kid but at the time I didn’t think either TPM or AOTC quite measured up to the OT (AOTC in particular was something of a disappointment to me at the time).

Huh. I liked the prequels more than the OT for years as a child. It wasn’t until I was 12 that I came to find them inferior. For a while I really disliked them, but now I’ve come back around and enjoy them again (except TPM, what a slog).

Well I was blessed with the OT before I saw the PT so I knew what was good right beforehand and had that to measure the PT against.

Yeah but, so was I, sorta. Well, I started with TPM, which I thought was okay, then I went on to the OT which I enjoyed, and then watched AOTC and ROTS which blew me out of the water.

But, like, why though?

Man, I can’t really remember. I think because they had better special effects

They didn’t though. They were more fancy yes, but except for a couple instances where they look dated I would say the ots effects looked more realistic. They just weren’t as wild.

Yeah. Why should female nudity be treated differently?

It shouldn’t, although it’s important to note that typically that movement refers to women deciding for themselves to go shirtless, whereas in film/TV it’s often all males making those decisions (which is where the objectification issue can arise).

Last I heard, actors choose which roles they take.

Only the most powerful ones and much more on the male side. Very few women can afford to turn down a role, else they get blacklisted and never work again.

Every wonder why it took so long for women to speak out against Harvey Weinstein?

Saying that both are murder makes one of them not matter? How?

If I were to say, “killing a 24-year-old man is murder, but killing a 67-year-old woman isn’t because that life is worth less,” that would be ludicrous. Both are murder. It doesn’t matter which one was the more morally wrong when you’re deciding what defining term to attach to it. All are examples of murder, they just are under different circumstances and have different affects.

Sorry I don’t understand, given that I’m dense and ignorant.

The attitude that it’s murder to abort a six-week-old fetus but a person who murdered a fully developed person can completely wipe the slate clean by accepting Jesus is revolting to me.

Murder is murder.

If you think aborting a six week old fetus is in any way comparable to someone coming into your house at night and killing your family, raping the corpses, and burning the house to the ground…

This post is ridiculous. When did I ever compare those situations? The killing of multiple people, raping the corpses, and burning the house are all things that you added to make me sound absurd even though I never mentioned those things. All I’m saying is that killing a person who is outside the womb at any age is considered murder by pretty much everyone, and in my opinion killing a fertilized egg/fetus is also murder. Is it “more bad” to kill a 14-year-old girl than a six-week fetus? Yeah, I guess

I stopped reading right there. “Yeah, I guess” when comparing a six-week-old fetus to a 14-year-old girl. Unbelievable.

And sorry for being so dense and ignorant. [eyeroll]
