MU was average. Better than Cars 2 (low bar) not as good as Cars 3 or Finding Dory.

Cars 3 is pretty good. Finding Dory is pretty good. Off the top of my head.
Cars 2 is a blight on animated civilization however.
I ate out in a restaurant only once. I ordered barbequed chicken. It was exactly like the packaged barbeque chickens they sell in the local supermarkets. It’s like they just bought one of those chickens and reheated it.
So you’re saying 100% of restaurants are bad then?
I think cuisine falls under the category of culture.
Frink, can you make a what subforum should my new thread go in thread?
Edit: I took matters into my own hands.
Your hands are now forever unclean.
Cultinary?
“I know.”
😉
For not being understandable?
Cuisine subforum incoming confirmed.
No reason. No reason. You’re the reason!
To put my terrible advice more eloquently:
If you’re looking for a relationship because you want to share life with someone interesting and intelligent and helpful, then go for it. If you’re looking for a relationship because you’re depressed and think that a relationship will make you less depressed, then don’t because I have a strong feeling that relationships built on that mindset will not work.
I shouldn’t have generalized earlier, I admit.
This is better put.
Basing your happiness entirely on a partner is a really bad idea.
Who said entirely? I agree that shouldn’t be your entire focus.
It was pretty heavily implied in the posts that the expectation was that a relationship with an ideal woman would solve the bulk of the problems in life.
Sometimes I feel I’m missing the same thing from my life, Hand. But it’s not something I expect from my regular friends. I think we both just need a girl…
Many of us here need a girl. It would solve some of the deeper emotional problems.
Honestly, it probably wouldn’t. Every situation is different, but just having a girlfriend generally isn’t a cure-all.
I really appreciated a group of strong female characters who weren’t defined by their gender.
I don’t disagree, just was curious if they gave a reason in the story for it.
Isn’t that a flavor of sherbet?

I can’t remember if it was mentioned or not either. But at least there was a reason for it in the movie then, even if they missed mentioning it.
Annihilation (2018)
Was it good? I only ask because I only watched it based on some word of mouth I heard (probably here) saying it was really good. It was good. But I’m a bit surprised at the praise.
I’m not usually one to ask this, but I do wonder why the story required the team to all be women. Maybe I missed something.
7.5/10.0
I never really understood the ignore feature anyway. You still had to scroll past the posts, you just didn’t see the actual text. Functionally it’s basically the same.
JEDIT: The “who is ignoring you” thread was fun though, so if the ignore feature is brought back, I really hope we can see a list of who is ignoring us again.
Good people who frequent this thread on all things politics…
…there’s no reason to limit all politics to a single thread any longer. Feel free to debate different issues in different threads and avoid those you don’t want to involve yourself with.
A quick look at the Index thread for the Culture section - featuring a few threads listed on various political subjects which some of you may wish to continue with - or start afresh on a new political topic.
But what if we want to limit all politics to a single thread?
What we want really isn’t relevant.
I logged into my dad’s computer looking for a specific file (long story). I didn’t find it, but here are some highlights of names of the files I did find.
“Islam vs infidels.docx”
“SATAN’s meeting and plans.docx”
“Second Coming of Jesus.html”
“Iraqui war.docx”
“SPAMMED:I Nearly Sold Your Son For.docx”
Oof.
I never go into the politics thread because I don’t give a shit about politics, much less American politics, and I feel I miss out on most of the drama that goes on within this forum by doing so.
Yeah, it’s great to be able to ignore that section whenever I feel like it and still enjoy the threads here. I was a bit resistant to the change, but it makes sense and overall I think it was the right choice now.
I think you missed the point.
Yeah, I don’t get it.
Some people like drama.
Having a partner usually just makes everything worse. I don’t get why everyone thinks that having some girlfriend or boyfriend would make them less miserable.
I think everyone here knows not to take your advice, and you’d admit I’m right about for sure, but this is still terrible advice. It won’t magically fix all your problems, but it can certainly help your quality of life. And maybe you have a long lasting relationship with that person and maybe have kids too and maybe you live a nice life. But I know you don’t want that, and that’s fine. But for others who want that, it’s terrible advice.
If there’s anything sitcoms have taught me, it’s to value your friendships over romance. The girl of the week will disappear, but the supporting cast will be there to the end.
Don’t take advice from sitcoms.
That advice is half-right.
Yep, I should have said don’t watch sitcoms. :p
when i saw the scene my first thought was “how the heck is she alive?”
People have survived being exposed to the vacuum of space before. Also remember that she is surrounded by the air that got blown out of the ship, which she could have subconsciously kept around her using the Force.
What really strains credulity is someone surviving three of their limbs being hacked off and being barbecued beside a river of lava, or literally being cut in half and falling down a bottomless shaft.
Force users are weird like that.
go home bro, youre drunk
No, Star Wars is drunk.
You made a judgement based on YouTube clips? Ok.
