Crazy Number of Page Views
Time

This isn't really a bug report but I thought it might be worth a mention.

Last night I updated my Prequel Cutlist Project page.  At the time there were about 700 page views.  I looked again this morning, and the number is over 26,000, without a single added post.

Also, the cutlist that I added to Rapidshare has been downloaded 15 times overnight.  Most cutlists have been available for months and have been downloaded less than 10 times.

Is this some kind of spambot or something?  Just curious what might have happened....

And no, I'm not just impressed with my page views.  There is no way this is legit.

Star Wars OT & 1997 Special Edition - Various Projects Info (Released)
Time

Watched ESB tonight.

Now, I'm not a techie or an audio/videophile.  Most of the stuff you guys talk about here goes *woosh* right past my head.  I watched this on a 30" HDTV (1080i, of all things), with a home-theater-in-a-box that is 5 or 6 years old.  I probably also sit a little to far from the TV.  Basically, I may not be the best judge of this.

Having said all that, I loved it!  It was so great to hear and see ESB the way I've been hoping to ever since I found out about this place.

Cheers, dj!

I think it would be cool if we could somehow place the jedi action on the federation ship at the end, including the duel on Naboo. Just make it a federation hanagr and the open space some reactor room for the federation engines.

Blankfist did something like this in his 3-in-1 trilogy fanedit.  Details here:

http://images.fanedit.org/fanedits_coverart/blankfist/falloftherepublic/ep1thru3blankfistcutlist.doc

It's a neat idea, but it unfortunately falls apart when you watch it.  It's way too obvious that the two parts (the jedi on the trade ship and Maul in the Naboo hangar) don't belong together.  But having said that, it was just a simple cut and paste job.  Someone with more tech skill might be able to pull it off.

Incidentally, Blankfist also removes the podrace and does a similar cut and paste so Qui-Gon frees Ani by winning the dice roll with Watto.  From the cutlist script, with deletions removed for easier reading:

***

EXT. MOS ESPA - JUNK DEALER PLAZA - DAY

The group walks towards the shop.

PADME: (to QUI-GON) Are you sure about this?

QUI-GON enters the shop.

WATTO: You! You swindled me!

INT. MOS ESPA - ARENA - MAIN HANGAR - DAY

WATTO: No pod is worth two slaves, not by a long shot.
QUI-GON: The boy, then.
WATTO: Hmm. Uh Well...

INT. WATTO'S JUNK SHOP - DAY

QUI-GON looks at ANAKIN, who looks back. QUI-GON looks back to WATTO.

INT. MOS ESPA - ARENA - MAIN HANGAR - DAY

We'll let-a fate decide, huh? (pulls cube from pocket) I just-a happen to have a chance cube here. Blue, it's the boy, red-uh...his mother.

QUI-GON nods acceptance. WATTO tosses the cube down. QUI-GON follows the cube with his eyes and lifts his hand slightly; the cube lands on blue.

INT. MOS ESPA - ARENA - PRIVATE BOX - DAY

WATTO: (defeated) Take him.

INT. WATTO'S JUNK SHOP – DAY

QUI-GON and ANAKIN share a smile and QUI-GON leaves.

***

Again, the cut and paste is too obvious.  But it's an interesting idea.

Looks like you're in the right, Gaffer.  Although to be fair again, that Off Topic description covers a lot of ground that is also covered by other forums.  It really should say "A place to chat about things not covered in the other forums."

I don't mind that TPM starts as "small" as it does. It works really well since the blockade of Naboo seems a small and insignificant event, even Qui-Gon says as much, but turns out to be a major catalyst for the events that will change the entire SW Galaxy. I think this quiet, unassuming opening reflects perfectly how Sidious has conducted all these events. The OT didn't have any big wow openings either, other than ANH, in my opinion. For the PT, ROTS is the one with the big opening.

Well said - I agree completely.

And sitting in the theater watching TPM for the first time, I really did enjoy my first look at the jedi in their prime, cutting down helpless droids.  It didn't start off the movie, exactly, but it wasn't too long before we got our first bit of action.  I actually kind of like how TPM starts off (other than the Nemoidian's accents, of course).

Just so I understand,  you draft real players and use their real statistics for scoring in the fantasy league, right?   I assume that playoffs for the fantasy league must be held before the real regular season ends, correct?  If not, what happens if a team in the fantasy makes the playoffs, but none of its players are playing in the real playoffs?

This could be fun.  I'd be willing to consider it.

You got it all right.  Draft real players, use real stats.  The last day of the regular season is the last day of the fantasy season, regardless of if you are playing roto or head-to-head.  If playing head-to-head, the last few weeks of the real regular season are the playoffs for the fantasy season.

But I would almost insist on roto instead of head-to-head.  I hate head-to-head.
