The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Director's Cut (Released)
Time
Some more info on the "Collector's Edition" of The Thief and the Cobbler to be released by Weinstein/Genius on November 21. I got this info from OnVideo.org:

The Thief and the Cobbler (1993) Animated adventure about a shy shoemaker who falls in love with an adventure-loving princess. Voices of Vincent Price, Jennifer Beals, Eric Bogosian, Jonathan Winters, Toni Collette, Matthew Broderick. Boxed in collectible pop-up packaging featuring the colorful characters and castle; $19.95. (The Weinstein Co./Genius Products).

Before anyone crows that the pop-up packaging may be the only special feature, the 2-disc claim made by that one guy has to have some basis in fact. If it were just the same disc as the September 12 release, there'd be no point in holding it back for two more months...

If I find more info on other advance-info sites, I'll share it.

There is no info apart from it being apparently the Arabian Knight cut (73 min), and released by "Genius Products, Inc" in NTSC. It seems odd that some random company rather than the Weinsteins would release it. No mention of 2 discs and the price is identical to the Weinstein effort.
Genius Products, Inc. is a subsidiary of the Weinstein Company, IIRC. The name has shown up on all the Weinstein Co. video/DVD releases so far.

I'm amused that our internet revisionism has infiltrated Amazon.com to the point where they list the original cast rather than the Miramax cast, and the opening lines of the workprint and everything.

Well, Amazon.com owns the IMDB, so most IMDB info is duplicated on Amazon.
