I'm sure Disney would have loved to sneak something in by some fresh faced teenybopper band of the moment, but that would have broken the spell.

I know right, I thought there'd be at least one godawful "My Chemical Romance covering Dylan" moment ;-) Good on you Disney/Marvel!

That hadn't escaped my notice either. Maybe he stole it off another "terran" he met on his travels?

Daaamn. That thing is selling!

As this movie seems to be on a lovely nostalgia tip... I had this:

Sony Walkman WM-EX36

Many an "awesome mix tape" was enjoyed. Although given I got it in 1991, I also probably sent a lot of time listening to Michael Jackson's 'Dangerous' album ;-)

Look kids ^ it had "Auto Reverse"! That meant you didn't have to spend several minutes rewinding your tapes if you wanted to listen to the album again.

Welcome to the future.

Spot the errors: ROTJ!

Darth Vader says to Luke in the Light Sabre Duel.

"Obi-Wan has taught you well"

Considering he killed Obi-Wan two films ago films ago and in the previous film already had a fight with Luke where he beat the crap out of him and then he comes out with this line.

Bad script writing that.

Unless you believe Vader is in Contact with Obi-Wan but I don't think that at all but it is a slight possibility but I put it down to error than a hint of Vader talking to Obi-Wan or Obi-wan even showing up to speak with Vader just seems off. no no...

The ROTJ Vader v Luke duel isn't really a LS duel, it's more a battle of wills between Luke and The Emperor. Neither Luke nor Vader ever intend to kill the other. The Emperor has two sticks to beat Luke with, his fathers attacks and the danger to Luke's friends. It's all subtext, watch that scene again.

When Vader says "Obi-Wan has taught you well" he is refering to the way Luke controlled his brewing anger and switched off his lightsaber and didn't let the Emperor provoke him. He is not commenting on Luke's relative skills with a blade. Ben spent almost zero time teaching Luke how to handle a sword but he has talked to him about controlling his fear etc.

This is brilliant writing. This is not an error.

Roy Lichtenstein is an overrated hack whose only "talent" was crudely copying comic panels drawn by artists with more talent than he ever had.

How those pretentious art snobs can defend him and call him a real artist is mindboggling to me. I could literally do what he did; would that make me a great, inspired artistic master then?

^ My two favourite tea mugs have this ^ and this V on them.

Don't be angry at talent that created them, be angry at the critics who haven't seen them as equally artisically valid.

btw I've seen that ^ Lichenstein paiting close-up and it's stunning. Every dot that makes up the colour you see from a distance has been carefully arranged, and painted onto the canvas with millimetre precision. There is nothing "crude" about it.

audiences agree with me that none of the Mummy films are as good as Crystal Skull.  Just check out Rotten Tomatoes

I did check it out because I simply didn't believe you that people could enjoy KOTCS more and they don't:

The Mummy (1999) - 75% approval with audiences on RT (7.7 on metacritic)

The Mummy Returns - 64% approval with audiences on RT (6.5 on metacritic)

KOTCS - 54% approval with audiences on RT (5.2 on metacritic)

The Star Wars: The Lost Workprint (* unfinished project - lots of info *)
Time

Well it's taken more than a year but I've finally got "Phase 1" on this project (Cutting in all the deleted material). This version is 12 minutes longer than the Theatrical Cut and 9 minutes longer than the SE (Doesn't sound like much actually). Well that was the easy part, the colour-grading and film FX will be much harder, and the third audio/music phase harder still (Still don't know how I'm gonna do that part ). But right now I'm really happy to have got to this point. So here's the extended "blowing up the Death Star" sequence to celebrate...

the smooth transitions could be a little faster.

Not sure what this means?

I'm talking about the transitions between the first shots (Tatooine from space, Wide Shot of Luke in the Desert, Closer Shot of Luke). Not sure how those transitions are called but I think they should be a little faster. They felt too long for me, making it hard to see any details for quite a long time.

Ah I see, I thought they were maybe too short LOL

^^ Thanks emanswfan. Not sure it's quite hi-res enough but I might give it a go anyway.

^ LOL Ender. No I didn't bother reading your post as I thought it was just a copy and paste. I be very interested in said project. I'm replacing any and all possible alternate dialogue as well as footage so audio is welcome too.

I'm up to Yavin now and have just finished cutting in the BR deleted line from Red Leader...

I met your father once

(Password: fanedit.org)

His extra line is from a totally different take to both the TC and SE versions of the Hanger scene with no available coverage (Plus there are frames missing). To cover the changes I matted out an extra walking past the camera from the SE and dropped him back in over the joins. It's not 100% seemless but it is I think the best that is possible.

I've made a good stab at colour-grading the wildly-different lighting used in the deleted footage of Red Leader to match it in but it needs more work. Also alternate dialogue used and alternate shots of Threepio and R2 talking. Oh and audio mix is always unfinished.
