Rumor has it that Lucas did not sell Star Wars for the reasons he would like you to believe
Time

I all for critising Lucas but sometimes it gets a bit mean. He did give us those 3 original films that we love. That's enough to forgive his litany of crimes in the years since.

I'm just happy he's retired, for whatever reason and we can all go back to admiring all the things he achieved in his career, instead of resenting him.  The man has been responsible for more awesome Film, TV, Literature, Videogames, Music and Magical SFX-Wizardry than any other person who every worked in cinema's history.

Sorry, something about the OP just made me want to defend Lucas. Surely something is wrong with an OT.com post when it makes you do that ;-)

I thought 'In The Beginning' was totally freakin' awesome when I saw back in the day (Still holds up now).

The Lucas reference is an interesting one in that it's a prequel that doesn't depicts events we've already been told about. But the difference is that the B5 prequel was action packed, exciting, emotional and was actually better than what I'd imagined these events to be like.

As for continuity Straczynski had a huge 5 season arc TV show with flashbacks, future visions and time-travel combined with lead actors leaving and the Network f*ckin' with it. That it has as solid continuity as it does is to be marvelled at. Lucas had a mere 3 films, that he had total ceative control of and he still ballsed it all up.

Something with speeches written like this has to be good...

words that mean masturbating that aren't "MASTURBATING"

There's something funny about how specific this is. It means someone posted a post with "whacking off" in it, and then argued that it was ok.

We should really have a thread here for creative masturbating euphemisms (By that I mean creative euphemisms for masturbating and not euphemisms for masturbating creatively).

My favourite was from The League of Gentlemen TV show...

"Cavorting with Madam Palm and her five lovely daughters"

Doh! I should have scrolled up. Thanks.

I can maybe see why the Grandpa scene might not get included, as it could possibly contradict what Gunn is planning for the second film in some way and the Nebula shot sounds like it was just a single shot. Also the Grandpa thing might have just been one shot, they sounded like unused parts of the end montage. The extended montage would have been nice though. You never get all the unused footage on any DVD package but if it's got the major deleted stuff I'm happy. I could have gone for a 3-hour making-of documentary ;-)

I hope those mentioned scenes don't become Disney streaming exclusives like with the Thor2 Blu-Ray because that really p*ssed me off.

So, we're basically getting stiffed on deleted scenes for the inevitable double dip two and half years from now. Thanks a lot, Disney. :/

Please elaborate on the stiffed-ness you've heard about, as from what I'm reading it sounds pretty decent...

Audio Commentaries are my favourite feature so I'm pleased.

Moffat is now a murderer. He killed the Master. Major character of the series. This is inexcusable, I'm not staying around for the Christmas special!

I might be wrong but didn't she disapear in flash of blue teleporty light and not dissolve into a a flash of orangish light. I'm sure when she killed the other people it was orange and when she teleported off the plane it was blue. So I assumed she'd escaped at the end. We weren't meant to think that she died right?

Another thought I've had... Luke made two runs through the Death Star trench

the Star Tours footage includes... a different shot of entering the trench, flying down the trench, a little dogfighting with TIE fighters

Can't quite get my head round how that would work with the footage available?

Is the Star Tours stuff HD and or CGI/Trad-Models etc? Sounds interesting.

Just read through this, had a go at this once myself but it went the same as all my edits onto the back burner. Some of your clips look great cant wait to watch your finished product.

I'm still recharging my batteries on this one, while working on other edits. I'm about 90% of the way through a Star Trek project where I've learned sooo much, that I'm gonna bring over to this. Alternate SFX shots galore!
