If Star Wars Was a Food, What Kind of Food Would It Be?
Time

Apart from "Awesome Sauce"?

Probably ANH would be a good Steak, ESB would be fine Sushi and ROTJ would be comforting homemade Mac 'n' Cheese. TPM would be a bland Souffle, AOTC would be an overripe Camembert and ROTS would be like a Curry that tastes okay at first but then burns your mouth off and you don't want to eat anymore for a few minutes.

Had an evening at the charming AFI theater and I recommend both movies:

Birdman - Michael Keating looks like he's having fun. Not a very grounded movie which makes it feel light for a movie that seems like it is trying to be deep. I like that. I'm not wild about the ending, which isn't bad but didn't really do anything.

The Imitation Game - Engaging as DominicCobb says. Keira Knightley doesn't serve much of a purpose which is only aggravated by how absent she is from the movie. I'd rather watch Cumberbatch anyway... [awkward segue]... The spotlight is swiveled to political messaging a bit heavy-handedly in a way that detracts from the focus of the movie, particularly at the end in a postscript, but I don't think many viewers will notice or care. Some creative liberties are easily forgiven, like the name of his machine which serves to highlight his personal struggle.

'Birdman' was a lot of fun but as you say the ending was a bit "Shrug?". Ending on the stage or at the window would have had more impact IMO. Just as I decided to see 'The Imitation Game' my local cinema stopped showing it, sigh.

FYI: For anybody thinking of seeing the new Hawking movie and also wanting to see another superb Cumberbatch performance then check out 2004's BBC drama 'Hawking', to see Benedict school Eddie Redmayne in how to play the part. It's on youtube...

I swear this advert...

...is running in every ad-break since Christmas in the UK. It's kinda nice to have SW back at the pop-culture forefront :-)

These part-work things are usually a ridiculous ripoff with this one costing £900 all told. Still considering a studio Falcon could cost £400 and you get magazines and stuff it's not the worst deal these companies have ever offered.

In high school I was dating my dentists daughter, and he forced us to split up because, while doing a routine cleaning appt on me, he was able to conclude from my teeth that I was a smoker.

Brilliant, I reckon there is a script for a Hollywood Comedy in there. Possibly with Steve Martin playing the Dentist, in a sly nod back to LSOH. With Ben Stiller (Heavily made up to look younger) in your role. You can have that gem of an idea for free ;-)

And losing patience in a sense of swiftly ending the fight has nothing to do with anger. He came to the point where Luke was physically cornered and he had move to the final step of his plan.

Screaming in pain when Luke manages to chop a chunk out of his shoulder, was all part of his master plan? Because to me that's the reason he loses his cool and maims Luke 1 second later.
