^ Indeed. This isn't the "Awesome DVD/Blu-ray Cover Art" thread.

Vader heard speaking with that voice was the only way he'd be able to fly ;-)
Would anybody like to see that annoyingly missing movie between AOTC and ROTS, where we actually would have seen Ben and Anakin's friendship and seen all the stuff that Alec Guinness aludes to in SW.
I kinda wouldn't mind that. Like is said above, give both actors a fair chance at playing the characters with good dialogue, a good story and good direction.
^ Yes, this exactly. Oh how we laughed back in 1999.
^ Track 16 'Luke Skywalker's Funeral' sounds great!
^ Or four hours later, whichever is closer.

I like the prequels. I don't feel that they clash tonally with the OT.
I haven't realised it yet.
Less than a month left now and there's a rockin' new poster...
...coverage from CBS (Which shows quite a bit, so beware spoilers!)...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibWBe4gC6cU
^ FYI: That CBS report mentions SC:SW is coming to a secret-city somewhere in the US within the next 6 months. I like that the CBS report doesn't show you what happens in the finale of the show, just the gleeful "I'm reliving my childhood" faces of the crowd who are seeing the finale...
Wes Craven is dead and Wes Crusher lives! There is no justice.

seeing these two "toys" together is probably one of the weirdest things I've ever seen.
Not to mention the most suggestive.
Is this your first time on the internet? ;-)
I've been on the fence for quite a while now, but I finally think I'm climbing over to the "I don't want to know or see anything more about TFA from now on" side (I reserve the right to do a complete u-turn in the coming months LOL).
Pre-90s, I thought "Obi-Wan" was a name he was given in the Clone Wars, in honor of some great deeds he'd done helping save some alien world.
Kinda like...
Erwin Rommel: "The Desert Fox?... Now, that's a name I've not heard in a long time. A long time"
That's ^ just my own theory, or it could have been a military rank
The name on his birth certificate would have been "Ben Kenobi". That is a fact, proved by the two lines...
Luke Skywalker: "I'm here to rescue you. I've got your R2 unit. I'm here with Ben Kenobi"
Princess Leia: "Ben Kenobi? Where is he?"
Otherwise Leia would have said...
"Ben Kenobi? Wait what? Oooooh, do you mean Obi-Wan Kenobi? Right okay, I was confused for a moment there because my father never mentioned this guy ever being called Ben. Anyway, nevermind, shall we get on with escaping from this cellblock?"
Another thing Lucas totally contradicted/forgot for the Prequels.

I suspect Kenner didn't think there was a market for a Tarkin back in the '70's. We didn't get Uncle Owen or Aunt Beru back then either.
What about these...?
I thought this was gonna be a Quadrophenia discussion thread :-(

atheism is too broad a category to rule it as a religion or not a religion.
Nope, it's real easy. It's not a religion.
Let's say somebody wanted to practice it as such... Where is the Holy-Book? Where are the places of worship? Where is the deity? Where is the religious figurehead? Where are the doctrines? Where are the priests? Where is the organised structure? Where are the forms of dress? Where are the rules? Where is the rigidly defined creation myth? Where is the iconography? Where is the anything that would define something as a religion?
Arguing that it's even vaguely similar is a bit silly.
I heard about Carrie Fisher being in this new-ish sitcom called 'Catastrophe'. So I put "Catastrophe Carrie Fisher" into the YouTube search but it just came back with general videos about Carrie Fisher... huh.
I only just realised the title of this thread is an hilarious pun. Nice work Dom!

The blue lightsaber looks crooked...
Just me? Looks like the blade is coming out at the wrong angle.
It's a photo of the poster, not the actual poster. Which accounts for the distortion.

The new poster is four characters, all roughly the same size just standing there (ok, Solo is acting up, angry at a bus driver or something).
I totally agree the composition isn't great. I was more making the point that objecting to an artist using "Teal and orange" paint on his brushes was a bit odd. I could also have said it's soooo 1888 ;-)
dan76 said:
That's an awful poster, the layout would be ok but whats he got Han Solo doing there? He's shrunk, waving his gun around like an OAP. Oh, and its teal and orange. Great.
I know right. Yuck. Teal and orange is sooooo 1977...
Secret Cinema uploaded a new "Teaser trailer"...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vz9pOrim_08
...it shows a lot more small glimpses of what goes on in the show than previous videos, so be warned if you don't want spoilers.

My gods this film looks awesome...
...I want to see it yesterday!
I loved that film. If you haven't seen it yet, I recommend getting it.
Horray! There's another person that loved Chappie!
I was in the video store the other day and some teenagers were just standing round the Chappie display agreeing how bad it was ;-)
The front cover (Based on the poster) is fairly lame but the real problem is the back. It's like the guys who designed it wanted to put you off buying the movie. The artwork lists it as 4:3/stereo/no-special-features. When you pop the disc in it's actually 16:9/5.1/commentary/deleted-scenes/making-of/easter-egg/trailer.

The DVD's were the last nail in the coffin for me.
The DVDs were just applying the varnish to the coffin ;-)
I'd argue that 'The Magnificent Ambersons' is the most famous example of this.
There were loads of films long before Star Wars, that were recut and then the original lost.
