We have three brand new, old school-style posters for Star Wars: The Force Awakens to share with you today.

These exclusive retro one-sheets are a throwback to the promotional posters used to herald the arrival of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope back in 1977.

I never saw any article that said Daniel Fleetwood saw a “4 hour” version of TFA. I saw he saw an unfinished version but never in any article did I see 4 hours. Perhaps you can link me to the source. I follow his wife’s fb page as well and never did she state that.

My source was The Washington Post article linked right above me. If they were wrong, okay.

Anyway, saw this posting on Twitter this evening. TFA will apparently be PG-13:

That’s interesting, I haven’t heard the four hour thing anywhere. If that’s true, they must have shown him a much, much earlier cut, because I remember reading that the picture was locked shortly after they screened it for him. There’s no way they cut an hour and a half in a matter of a few days.

Right, exactly. Just a very early rough cut. But the cool thing about that is, he’s likely the only member of the general public that will ever get to see that which is unbelievably awesome.

I’m blown away they are dropping so many clips and teaser spots. It feels like we have maybe seen as much as 7-10 minutes of actual movie when in actuality it’s probably more like 5-7 minutes.

Thoughts?

Furthermore, I recall reading a story that the terminally ill SW fan (Daniel Fleetwood) saw a nearly four hour cut of the unfinished film. I wonder how much of the little clips we are seeing are bits and pieces from moments that are not in the actual 2 hour 15 minute finished product.

Have been super busy with work this week but I wanted to weigh in on the newest TV Spot focusing on Finn. I think it’s my favorite one thus far. It’s a pure adrenaline rush! I loved the banter between Han and Finn and his “Hell no” line.

I’ve seen a few grumblings that that language is in Star Wars but my mind immediately went back to Sir Alec Guinness saying “damn fool [idealistic crusade]” in SW77. There’s a precedent for real, adult talk in Star Wars.

or

Your Tauntaun will freeze before you reach the first marker!
“Then I’ll see you in Hell!”

Good call.

What, if anything, do we know about the alter-ego that was mentioned for Adam Driver known as “Darklighter”. Is he playing both sides or were those all flash backs or maybe just early production ruses?

Kylo have been described as a Darklighter?
Man, wouldn’t that be a twist ending; Kylo Ren being Biggs’ son. Heck, so far he’s been speculated to be the son of practically the entire main cast of the OT, so why not move over to the supporting cast.

I could be wrong but I just remember hearing that somewhere (maybe on MakingStarWars?). Also there was some spy photo that purportedly showed Adam Driver in an X-Wing fighter pilot jumpsuit.

I’ve seen a few grumblings that that language is in Star Wars but my mind immediately went back to Sir Alec Guinness saying “damn fool errand” in SW77. There’s a precedent for real, adult talk in Star Wars.

Also that picture from the Empire piece (that I’m about to read) is really terrifying. Kylo Ren as a character is very wicked looking. Not in an evil silly Darth Maul way (no offense PT lovers) but in a well…Darth Vader way, before ROTJ. He looks like he means business.

Been thinking a lot about that character and I suppose it’s basically common opinion that Kylo Ren and Rey are related (either cousins or siblings, my money is on the latter). I wonder too if the reveal that her brother is indeed the Galaxy’s newest badass won’t come until the 3rd act when his mask is off and he kills their father, Han Solo. Way too much conjecture on my part.

What, if anything, do we know about the alter-ego that was mentioned for Adam Driver known as “Darklighter”. Is he playing both sides or were those all flash backs or maybe just early production ruses?

Apparently CBS is going to air an interview with Lucas about his non-involvement in the ST. The preview makes it sound like Ardnt was indeed staying true to Lucas’s teenager plot outline before Abrams et al took it in another direction. Would be curious to read the Lucas story in a comic or novel some day, but as an Evil OT.com member, I am obviously glad that the films aren’t sticking with George’s plans just for the sake of George’s plans.

Thanks for posting and I agree, I’m glad they changed directions. I read an interview with Lawrence Kasdan the other day (from Wired.com) and it gave me even more confidence that the ST will be a success; even if his involvement ends after TFA.

ReasonTV posted this interesting video about the economy of Star Wars:
