I’m currently watching Episode 434 of One Piece.
I’m currently watching Episode 434 of One Piece.
Although, I like the version by Faith No More better, but they didn’t use a harmonica.
I posted the written version below this
https://www.facebook.com/StarWars/posts/1524850000899929
but it seems that it was deleted.
Official hashtag seems to be
#StarWars40th
Shared it on facebook and twitter.
Somebody should do one of these posts on Reddit:
<----- Number of people that want the original theatrical version of star wars released on blu-ray
If that hit the front page of reddit it would mean quite a bit I think. The OT crowd would definitely have to get the ball rolling. I’m assuming everybody has reddit accounts?
What’s reddit?
I think you can argue THX had a cult film status. At least two music videos have been inspired by it. Queen did one in the 80’s and a Hip Hop duo did their own homage in the 90’s.
Here’s the Queen video. Funny enough even though I was aware of George Lucas even at a young age, I think I saw this video before I was even familiar with THX-1138.
I didn’t even know the song.
Maybe, just maybe, adding something like “the movie known as “la guerre des étoiles” in France or “Krieg der Sterne” in Germany”, because today these movies are called “Star Wars” worldwide (at least since the 2004 releases)? But maybe this takes things too far.
Rubies Stormtroopers with Kenner Blasters. That’s really gross.
Would love to find a better version of this.
If it’s not shopped, it’s impressive.
It’s shopped. The original was taken at Jedi-Con 2008 at the Maritim-Hotel Düsseldorf. He’s a fellow 501st member of the German Garrison.
Also - battlestar galatic (the reboot) is awesome.
nuBSG is still the best Sci-Fi series on TV so far.
…what Lucas would consider a rough cut of his films.
That’s funny. What he considers as rough cuts, I call finished movies. What he calls finished movies (the Prequels), I consider as rough cuts.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. What a fun ride. I like it even more than the first one (which was a bit of a letdown because of all the hype it got beforehand). 4 post credit scenes, btw.
I love Avatar, too. The animated series, not the space smurf movie.
But to be fair, I liked Terminator Genisys more than Rogue One in relation to how much I care about each franchise.
13 Reasons Why.
I love the book and the show is really good.
My high school is going crazy over this show.
The pupils or the teachers? And what do you mean by going crazy?

I translated it to english (a bit edgy, but it’s okay, I guess):
The door is open
I enter
You’re never smiling
But I can feel your happiness
And my hand
Moves through your hair
I lean onto you
And close my eyes
Then I put the straps on you
We understand each other without words
You inhale
Then it begins
I hold onto you
And you thrive on carrying me
Carry me as far as possible
Carry me, no matter where
(Carry me)
As long as I’m with you
And in motion
(Carry me)
Your body shines
In the evening light
I feel the power
Behind every motion
You rear up
I devote
And beneath every of your steps
The environment shakes
Carry me as far as possible
Carry me, no matter where
(Carry me)
(Carry me)
As long as I’m with you
And in motion
(Carry me)
Carry me as far as possible
Carry me, no matter where
(Carry me)
(Carry me)
As long as I’m with you
And in motion
(Carry me)
Carry me as far as possible
Carry me, as fast as you can
(Carry me)
(Carry me)
Carry me, wherever you want
And never stop
(Carry me)
Exactly my reaction.
Yeah, I hoped the second time I watched it I’d like it more. Wasn’t the case.
I didn’t like the TFA Trailers. The more I saw, the more I was sure that this movie will suck. But I was wrong and the movie turned out to be really good (Shut up, Alderaan 😉 ). When the RO Trailers were released I got hyped. It looked like a story worth telling, really good FX, and characters I’d care about.
About two weeks before the release of the movie a friend of mine said:
'My biggest fear for Rogue One is the possibility of the worst retcon in movie history ever.
Picture this: Daddy Erso gives Jyn the plans, and with his dying breath he goes “exhaust port, I put it in as a weakness so you guys have a chance. Now go!” Just let it sink in for a minute and think about what that would possibly imply… that’s why I’m still wary when it comes to this movie. They will fuck directly with ANH.'
They can’t be that stupid, I thought. Boy, was I wrong again.
The story is okay, but not as good as it could have been. That’s what you get when you let the FX guy write the story. It’s almost as if the drummer of your band has an idea for a song, it gets mediocre at best.
The biggest problem I have with this movie are the characters. There wasn’t a single character I cared for. They were unappealing (Jyn Erso and Cassian (what’s his last name? Landoril?) more than anyone else), boring (the pilot, the blind guy and his friend) and annoying (the droid and mostly Jyn). And when the only death in your movie that touches anyone the slightest is the one of the droid, then you have a problem with character development. But maybe that’s not entirely the fault of the writer. The only good actor is Ben Mendelsohn. The rest of the cast has only one expression glued to their faces.
But WTF did they do to Vader? Again? Why had he to be in this movie anyway? To deliver… puns!?! To explain why he wears the robe on top of his chestplate in ANH (because Krennic rang him out of the bathtub five minutes before ANH starts and he wasn’t able to dress properly)? Seriously, WTF? His fight scene at the end looks badass but destroys the continuity with the OT. Vader fights slow but precisely, dammit! Let’s face it, he’s in there for fanservice only (‘I know, I should root for the rebels, but look how cool he fights. Go slaughter some more rebels, Darth!’). The better thing would have been: the plans were transmitted to the Tantive IV directly, the ship jumps to hyperspace and we cut to Vader who recieves the order to find that ship. It would have been fanservice without damaging the character any further.
The effects are top notch! Well, except for Grand Moff Toonkin, Leia, that Hentai thing and the destruction of the planet where that Hentai thing lives. The space scenes are awesome, as well as most of the locations.
The music is… meh. I was never a fan of Giacchino, but the soundtrack for RO sounds more like a parody than a SW soundtrack. Every time a SW theme seems to surface the melody changes as if Giacchino is afraid of beeing sued for copyright infringement.
Well, the movie isn’t a complete disaster, it had a few, quite enjoyable, moments (Rebels cameo, for example), but it’s by far the worst on my list of SW movies.
Is there something I missed about Dave Filoni? I don’t understand the hate.

- Return of the Jedi
- The Force Awakens

.- Rogue One
You might as well not put Rogue One on the list if you’re going to have such a huge gap between that and the next film lol
The topic says to rank the Star Wars films. That’s exactly what I did. Rogue One was not a total disaster, but I like it waaaaay less than the other ones.
I agree with you to some extent but there are 6 dots man. That’s a lot of dots.
Oh, you’re right. I have to put another ‘a’ in ‘waaaaay’.
Rogue One is like this sweater
- The Empire Strikes Back
