Info & Help: looking for... Sebastian Shaw ghost (HD-CLIP available)/ Jabba: Best source for the 1997 SE?
Time

So, three days of avisynthing, virtualdubbing and aftereffecting later...

I took Wookiegroomer's HD-Version, and G'Kar's SE DVD, decapitated Hayden, and put Sebastian Shaw's head, where it belongs.

Here's the clip (without sound), all three (two in the GOUT) scenes edited together:

Ah, I see. The G'kar version is the version I have. German crawl etc (I watched it another time, and I'm sure it's not a LD-rip).

It's not good, due to its compression, but it seems to be the best source out there. Too bad.

Does anyone know, where I can get my hands on the flunk-version?

I’m trying to recreate the original ghost-scene from ROTJ. I have a german DVD-5 version of the SE trilogy (german opening crawls), which I thought was a rip from dTV, but, due to its quality, I’m beginning to think that it’s more likely to be an anamorphic LD conversion.

I’m also looking for the SE Jabba. Is there a source that has no subtitles? I know, Jabba looks even crappier in the SE than the 2004 version, but I think the SEs need to be preserved a well.

EDIT: Here are the links to the clips…

Substract/suppress background noise/music off a stereo track
Time

I have done that before and it worked quite well. I just don't know which program I used. It's been a while.

I was making an uncut Version of "Lilo & Stitch" (it was cut in Germany to get a G-rating). I found the missing dialouge on a radio play CD. The problem was, they used different background sounds and music as used in the movie. I found a program (I don't know what it was) which could suppress the background and "raise" the speech to the foreground. Not all noise was filtered, but in the final 5.1 mix it was hardly hearable. This time it's a little easier. Han's line "I bet you have" was dubbed new in '97 for the SE in Germany. I want to put the old line back in the 5.1 track. The problem is, that the music is too loud, suddenly it comes from the center, while it's supposed to come from de L/R-channels. The background noise on the stereo-track is the same as in the 5.1.

Does anyone know a program which can do that? And how?

Star Wars Main Title in After Effects
Time

I would do that, IF I was using the original Logo. But what I tried to do was recreate the german Version of the title. The original trilogy always had the title "Krieg der Sterne" until 2004 with the DVDs it was replaced by the original Star Wars Logo. And there went another part of my childhood....

I have finished the three title crawls now (and sync'd them with the music as well) and I'm pleased. But thank you anyway.

By the way, does anyone know a videoplatform other than youtube that can handle 1080p videos? I can't upload or watch any video that contains music from Star Wars on youtube due to copyright issues in Germany.

Star Wars Main Title in After Effects
Time

I'm trying to recreate the Star Wars Main Title in After Effects CS5. Everything works fine, there's just one thing that bothers me:

When the Star Wars Logo gets samller, at a certain point it starts "pumping", because of the pixels, that are calculated new for each frame. I hope you know what I mean. What can I do to avoid this pumping-effect?

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

adywan said: The 2004 version was just so unemotional that he looked like he was falling asleep.

Which reminds me of the following:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5peFJmLnMk

Sorry for the little offtopic and the german:

The clip is dubbed with the german dialect "Kölsch" which is spoken by people around the city of Cologne.

Here's a quick translation:

Emperor: Now I've forgotten what I wanted to say. Just a moment ago I knew it.

Vader: That happens.

Emperor: Man, that can't be. What was it? I don't get it. It's on the tip of my tongue. Ahhh, no, shit, I think it's gone...

Vader: Then it wasn't important at all...

Emperor: What else?

Vader: Okay. Lot of work. And you?

Emperor: Evil people are always well, you know? (I don't know if there's an english equivalent for this german saying)

Emperor: It just occurred to me. Where is the Deathstar?

Vader: It's broken.

Emperor: Yes. Now that you're saying it... I have to sleep over it. See you later...

Vader: ...Alligator... (I tried to find an suitable translation for the german farewell-phrase "Mach's gut" (Make it good), which is often accompanied with the silly reply "Mach's besser" (Make it better))...

Help needed (color correction, image enhancement)

Another question:

The sequence starts with this image:

Then comes the explosion:

http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/2856/0038r.th.jpg

Then Vader's helmet enters the stage:

http://img830.imageshack.us/img830/4066/0143sh.th.jpg

It ends with the picture in my first post:

http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/2069/0205t.th.jpg

Is there a program in which I can mark the stars in the first picture, and then the program edits out the stars in all the other pictures of the clip by interpolating pixels from around the stars? That way I could use my own background (since I realized that the background is the same as in the opening crawl of ESB, just a little disorted)...

Thank you.

I used avisynth as a frameserver for virtualdub, but it didn't work for me. Frames were skipped or jumped back and forth, of a 2 minute movie only 30 seconds were shown in vdub, and many other glitches.

Any alternatives to avisynth, or at least a hint which filters I need, which program to use the script with, how to avoid the glitches I mentioned above?

Help needed (color correction, image enhancement)
Time

I'm trying to recreate the movie trailer for ESB in fullHD. So I looked through the trailers from the official 2004 DVD and found a TV-Spot that had the space/explosion/Vader helmet without the title on it. So I need to resize it to 1920 x 1080 and then crop it to 1920 x 816. I know, it would not look as sharp as the rest of the trailer, but I am trying to get the best out of the sources I have.

I also want to color-correct it, so the space is really black again and the stars are white (or almost white). And all that without loosing the details of Vader's helmet. There's also a lot of noise in it.

What software do you recommend for the color-correction, denoising and enhancement? Is that even possible? Are there any tutorials? Anyone else how did something like that (upscaling a dvd movie to fullHD?) and has some hints for me?

Here's a pic of the scene I'm talking about:

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I watched the emperorclip and was truly amazed. It's so awesome to hear the old dialogue again, that I thought I could try something.

See, I grew up with the german versions of the original films, but the man who dubbed Vader died in 2001 and so it wasn't possible to get Vader's new lines dubbed with the original voice. So another actor did Vader's lines for the whole 2004 scene, which is very irritating, since the voice is cool (Reiner Schöne did it, some of you might know him from TV: Star Trek TNG or Babylon 5) but totally different from the original german voice. So I did reassamble the original dialogue with the new Palps and the old Vader. Here is the version I did:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3Ymmwd032w

The lipsync is a bit off, because the german actor used lipmovements that adywan kindly erased ;)

@ adywan: I did not set the video to public, but if you give your okay I would like to do so. I wrote in the video's title and descripton that the video is your work, only the sound is mine.
