Paint Wars: A New Hope
Time
I have been seeding both trackers since I uploaded them. The Demonoid torrent seem to be doing better than the PirateBay one though. I've been trying to get it onto wikiupload as well but it hasn't worked. Could you suggest a another good place for uploading this? (I don't use newsgroups)

This collaboration project is an interesting idea. I don't know if I would be able to oversee it, but I could probably help out.

Okedoke, editing and animating done. Currently trying to produce a decent video file. Will perhaps do a dvd version as well, with picture and audio of the highest quality, to make this release all the sillier It'll all be out soon.

This is for Ziggy if he's still around: Please consider picking up this project again. It's such a crappy but yet excellent one, and deserves more than the eight-something minutes of video gotten out of it.

New Clone Wars Trailer!
Time
"I mean... there's no sense to it. None. It's just empty action shots on top of each other "

It's...a....freaking...TEASER TRAILER. What exactly did you expect?

Well that was more of an estimate on how I think the show will turn out, based on this trailer and the latest we've seen from LucasFilm (Clone Wars cartoon and the "video game movie" RotS). And I was pretty much in shock over how silly I thought the trailer looked so I might've exaggerated a bit. But seriously, I do miss the mythic saga that Star Wars used to be. I feel it has transformed into some kind of senseless action monster, but that's just my opinion.

As stated though, fan edit-fodder is always welcome of course.

Wow....

That has to be the silliest load of whatever I've seen in a long time. Long time.

I mean... there's no sense to it. None. It's just empty action shots on top of each other, and sequences which I'm sure even some Sith would consider unnatural. And on top of that, it looks like some 1990's made-for-children "learning can be fun" type computer games.

I'll avert my eyes on this one and keep my fingers crossed for the live-action show. Too bad.

Creating an authentic looking crawl

You can format the text pretty much as you want it in AE as well, but I think I had to search a little to find all the settings and such. I just love the simplicity of seeing the change immediately.

Anytime I ever tried it the justify button was grayed out and unusable. All of the tutorials I've ever seen that used AE directly just ignored it and the text was "ragged right".

Really? Hmm. It's been a while since I did a crawl. I'll have to look it up, but I know I got the text justified the way I wanted within AE.

The Mini Mini tutorial for AE7:
-Have a background image (still frame from just before the camera pan down to the planet)
-Look around originaltrilogy.com to find the right fonts for the logo and all the text.
-Make a new composition in AE. Put the background image there and add all the text and the logo. Also add a camera with default settings.
-Check the "make 3D" box for your layer with the crawl text. Move the camera so that the crawl text gets the right perspective. (Only change the camera, not the text.)
-Using keyframes, animate the Star Wars logo flying away from view. I simply scale it down. Same basic effect.
-Animate the text on the Y-axis, simply going from down to up. The tilted look is achieved by the camera you added earlier.
-Fade out the text when it's gone far enough.
-Celebrate your accomplishment with flutes and teddybears.

EDIT: justifying the text works fine for me. I uploaded a screen grab of what my composition in AE7 looks like:

Need help on this custom cover for ROTE...

Jonno's suggestion is a good one.

The new green you put on the backside looks great. A lot more balanced.

The unfocused shot of Wicket I was reffering to is indeed that menu screen cap. If that's the best one then so be it. It's ok.

If you have the font Trajan Pro, you could try using that instead of TNR. It looks more Star Wars-y.

And good call on removing the OCP logo. Just writing it looks more professional.

The frontside looks better as well. Were did you get that picture? It's perfect.

Star Wars: Episode II - The Clone Wars Begin (Released)
Time
Well thank you for digging this up stossmo I really should get this over and done with now.

What happened was I ran into problems when trying to make a good DVD-compliant mpeg-2 file. I've previously never bothered to teach myself about video coding, and so I sorta ran into a wall diving into encoding and muxing and whatnot, so I decided to take a christmas break. Also I got an internship on a TV production company with working hours just killing my enthusiasm about other stuff than sleeping and relaxing, so that’s part of the reason as well.

Anyways, I'm gonna sort this video coding mess out now, and then I'll get a torrent running. As a matter of fact, I’m gonna start right this minute and try to complete this. I’ll post more when there’s more to post.
