I found this to be really cool.

Darth Vader is a cultural icon, but somebody watching the films in chronological order with hazy knowledge of the other characters could find Palpatine’s knighting of Vader to be the real big reveal of the saga. It’s an unusual reversal of the classic twist.

The Tarkin scenes have been of much contention in this thread, so I figured I would share this little tidbit: the restored archival footage shown at Celebration had its own unique grading for the alternate shots of some of these scenes, and when balanced they yield aesthetically pleasing results:

Figured I’d share this in the thread:

I’ve been matching the results of my single-pass regrade of the JSC to the Blu-ray (specifically Harmy’s 2.7), and I’m quite pleased with how natural looking the results are:

(Also I’m not sure why some of the images are so speckled. It’s how all of the screenshots appeared before I altered them.)
