The MGM have a lossy, crapping sounding 192kbps mono track. 

The 5.1 remix is not made from the mono. It just uses the dialogue and remakes all the sounds and effects and remix the music. It's a new creation.

I think the problem with the new synced track is it's too loud. I'm remastering it at a lesser volume for my personal use.

Myspleen for the one synced to the new release.

I also have the un-synced 2.1 mono from the image DVD, and the unsynced french mono, so if anyone is interested, I'll provide links in exchange of you syncing it back to the new release, so that everyone can profit.

So er, will we be able to have LD mono tracks, synced to the current Blu-ray releases, of all these great films?

Yes I still have it. Someone stole my Mad Max 2 R1 DVD thought. The one with the pan & scan side, which would allow to reconstruct the TV cut. It's easy to get I guess thought.

I'm struggling to find the mono and DS versions of all the films up to LTK as I live in europe and the Blu don't have them.

Could someone put demuxed original tracks on myspleen so that I can sync them (and other too) on my rips? I mean the AC3 original mixes. All up to LTK.

Stendec, is the file on myspleen not the old Dark Jedi file, but "remastered" by yourself? If this is the case, how much do we need to take out of the original Dark Jedi file to make it fit your synchronisation ? Cause 16s at the beginning doesn't work, it cuts of the orion logo sound and don't sync.

Same for me... watch out thought OHMSS is not the same cut, so you will need to fill in the missing bits.

After listening to the muxed mono track from the LD, I'm kinda disappointed by the dynamic range. I believe by making the quiet parts louder, the track somehow suffered from it. Any way to get the original, non remastered Dark Jedi file, but still synced to the new Blu-ray?

Also I own the original Image DVD which has the 2.1 mono track, and it sounds great.

If I demux it and upload it on a sharing site, can someone sync it to the new Blu-ray? That would be awesome because it would bring all the different versions of the mono track up to date.

Anyone can track down a new HDTV airing, which is said on boards to be 1280x720 ie 1.77:1 open matte?

It's not the "japan" HDTV release, but a genuine HD version airing in the US. I would love this with a synced 5.1 from the DVD track, and I'm sure many other would.

I synced Stendec file to my own rip of my own Blu-ray, and it syncs perfectly. As mentioned above, the Blu-ray have the MGM logo in two separate files, so all you have to do is use Stendec file, and mux it with the 00000 file which is the main film starting with the Orion logo.

Thanks so much Stendec, for doing what the publisher should have done and didn't. Now I can enjoy the film in all it's mono glory, with top image definition.

Yes, but this thread is about the audio mono preservation. If one wants another color timing, shouldn't he create it's own thread?

Please stop confusing this thread with your self color corrections and tampering of Dark Jedi mono track. I trust Dark Jedi to fix a new mono sync to this new disc, don't steal his thunder and keep your color retiming for yourself. This isn't George Lucas destruction style, the color timing of the new Blu-ray isn't green and it is perfect.

In the meantime, anyone can upload all the mono tracks that are only available on the US Blu-ray release, so that we can sync them to our crappy euro releases? That would be ace while waiting ;)

It's just a repackage of the old BR with a new encode and the bonus of the 2001 DVD (or some of them) trown in. 

The forthcoming re-release of Terminator is the same old same old, this audio is fantastic I muxed it with my BR release and it kicks the arse of the mono DVD mix which I had already muxed in too (as the DVD from 2001 and the BR are the same master).

I don't think a true T1 release will come until two years, for the 20th anniversary.

I have :

- DVD version of the television cut (1.33 format, lots of violence taken out, but lots of footage cut back in unavailable anywhere else)

- Original DVD in 1.33 Pan & Scan

So anyone fancy doing a composite, taking most of the footage from the official P&S DVD and reconstructing the TV cut in better quality, PM and I will rip and upload all the stuff you need to do it.

Just finished burning ESB, and boy, great job Adywan, by all means release the other ones ! Those are my prefered versions of choice now regarding the original or not so original cuts. Amazing clarity.
