Jonno, your track sound ace. From my memory, it's the same Dolby Surround mix as the 1994 Laserdisc. Definetely better than the 5.1 remix.
There is another that sounded awesome on LD, but flat on DVD, it's Robocop 2.

I don't think anyone translated this. It wasn't on a DVD, so no official subs as far as I know. The director leaked it himself on youtube or dailymotion I think.

singh, you need to reencode like in dts-hd ma to put the surround flags back. Then the track is correctly tagged. That's what I did for the Alien LD tracks.
Does the LD have the widerscreen logo or 4/3? BTW I PMed you, I'm dying to get the LD surround track :)
Jonno, not sure you have realised this, but the old warner logo on the Road Warrior is in 4/3 format.
The true movie version start all in 4/3 from the logo up to the end of the recap.
Sorry for the confusion, I meant, the commentary by Carpenter is Russel initially was released on the laserdisc, so for most people it's the "LD" commentary (there is another by Debra Hill and crew which originated on the 2003 DVD, that one is the "DVD" commentary.

I don't think the audio of the commentary from the LD is worth ripping, the quality is probably very close to what is on the DVD, but the actual Dolby Surround audio could actually be great to have in PCM.
No, but the laserdisc/DVD commentary isn't on the Blu-ray + the laserdisc soundmix isn't on any version at all apparently.
I found online someone ripped the John Carpenter and Kurt Russell commentary from the laserdisc of EFNY, and synced it to the current Blu-ray US release (search on PB)
I was wondering if anyone had plans to rip the laserdisc soundtrack mix and sync it too.
The new mixes for the movie have several little problems, not found on the laserdisc. Also the new mix add music to the “what’s wrong with Broadway?” scene, that was never at any time in this movie there (you can even hear it’s a new addition, as the music track playing there is badly looped), so a LD soundtrack restore would be awesome.

Your problem is that the encode is vc1. In mkv files, vc1 generates out of sync tracks, they doesn't gel. If you use a reencode, it should work fine. VC1 is a crap codec.
The old DVD was correct, you just have to look at Beyond Thunderdome, which as the same desert color as the older MM2 master.
Also I saw the movies in the theaters dozens of time. The Blu-ray is crap.
I would fancy a digital regrade, using the DVD as reference. Oh yes. The Blu-ray have the colors toned down, to hide that it's not regraded right (the color of the desert changes from shot to shot within same scenes) and have a green push.
EPK = promo featurettes, there is a 25mn one, a 6mn one, and a complete collection of all the parties involved answering questions, 3/5 mn each (that was probably used by TV shows to edit new kits). Definetely a complete collection of everything aired on TV (and not on DVD)
There is also on usenet a making of DVD with most, if not all the EPK!
Anyone noticed? A 720p WEB-DL of True Lies have appeared on usenet. I have no idea what source it is, it's official thought (all WEB-DL are official streams)

I have both versions (open matte and D-Theater), I believe it's better to use the D-Theater.
Open matte is OK, but it's like an IMAX version of the film. For fans only.
