If I may note, watch the T2 making of for the opening scenes in the biker's bar.

Those scenes in 1991 were color timed blue as they appear in this making of (it was edited prior to the film release), however, since laserdisc and DVD and Blu-ray, the scene is now warm orange brown.

I feel any "restoration" project should get those scenes back to the theatrical colors they had originally.

HALLOWEEN - Fixing the audio and re-creating 1999 color timing (Released)

PM sent doombot, you have the 5.1 and the dolby surround (or is it just stereo?) from 99.

That stereo mix sounds great, as does the 5.1.

I think it's fair to consider that everything done in 99 is canon, and the "going back" of the last Blu-ray is the DP losing his marbles. That probably goes for the sound too. Let's preserve the 99 master, the best way to experience Halloween, ever.

Hey man, piece of cake. This is the shot adjusted ie new remastered transfer with proper Adam Adams, THX, Cundey approved, 1999 color timing.

Of course this is an exact replica so the timing is a bit white hot and you loose the clouds in the sky. But just to show you with minimal adjustment, you can blend both together, just like one should for Mad Max 2 ugly colors on Blu.

Color match anyone?

Revenge of the correctly color timed Michael Meyers

The way it looked in 1978 is not "definitive" because it was a crap, ultra low budget film that barely allowed the filmmaker to fill up their intended look, the prints were probably made with the cheaper prints factory out there, why would anyone want to preserve the cheap look? This is BLU RAY we don't want a preservation of the cheap, we want the BEST PRESENTATION.

1999 THX got it right.

The new Blu-ray colors are crappy, I'm all in for a fix to the 1999 THX colors which makes justice to this fantastic film. On the new Blu, all the daylight scenes look grey and dim. The movie is not enjoyable that way. There's no contrast between the autumnal community and the terror of the night, it's all just bland.

Also, mono Criterion not the fake mono (which is not a folddown of the 7.1 track but a fold of another remix, probably one they released over the last 15 years).
