In the Lap of the Gods by Queen. I do admit it was kinda creepy hearing Freddie’s voice in a lower pitch.

Hmmm… But the Wikipedia image says screenshot, but it’s rather doubtful it’s a different frame. Not to mention there are stars visible in the frame. Also, regarding “a still from the set” I don’t think BTS photos were taken back then. Keep in mind this is 1902. And if it was simply a different image, where did it come from?
Has anyone noticed the iconic shot of the Man in the Moon seen in Georges Méliès’ Trip to the Moon is slightly different than the popular image? If so, why is it different? (The image seen in my avatar is the actual one seen in the film)
The actual shot is kind of gory. Stuff is running out of the Moon’s pierced eyeball! I don’t think that’s cheese…
Confirmed by the color version:
Compare that shot to this
His face is slightly different, his lips are different, and the blood is not really pouring, but rather splattered. Anyone have an explanation for this?

How do you feel about Origin? Is it awesome? Is it good? Is it bad? Is it trash?
As a service, it is better than it used to be but it is still inferior to Steam. Also, it’s annoying when a game bought on Steam requires Origin running to play the game.
I agree. I bought Sims 3 on Steam, but some things I believe required Origin, like the ‘SimPoints’ which is the currency used to buy cool stuff. I was quite upset, and it was one of the reasons I don’t play it much anymore.
Y’know, It just doesn’t really feel right for rock music to be the scores for silent films, I like symphonic scores better. Just wondering, why are rock music sometimes the scores?
Ah, Safety Last! another silent era classic!
Why did TV’s Frink get banned? I’m just curious
This thread will discuss all things silent films, films like the classics Le Voyage dans La Lune, and Metropolis.
And I don’t mean silent film inspired films, like The Artist, I mean Silent films.
Have fun!
Well, I remember one where a carpenter or architect (I can’t remember) falls asleep and wakes up old! Also, The Curious case of Benjamin Button is pretty strange. I think the former one was called “The Carpenter’s Slumber” or something.
NOTE: I was told that the New Thread Thread (or the New The New Thread Thread Thread) was now irrelevant because of new management. I THINK that means we now do not need the thread to make new threads. I’m sorry if I got it wrong.
Post the oddest, weirdest, creepiest, bizzarest, and disturbing vintage books here! When I mean vintage books, I mean old books that were NOT made in the 21st century or the late 20th century. As always, have fun! 😃
But does this mean we can make threads freely or we use the other New Thread Thread?
Sorry but this thread is irrelevant now thanks to new management.
What exactly do you mean? I’m just curious
It was a typo, I believe Frink meant “irreverent”
Huh?

A “Weird Vintage Books” thread? I’ve seen quite a few weird ones.
Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931)
For some funny reason in the transformation scene it looks like Jekyll is constipated.
I also never understood why they added a first-person perspective in some scenes, and odd zooming in on the faces. Mr Hyde also constantly stalked this girl. XD
The sniff Steam Summer sale has ended. cry
You guys got any TV Shows you love that don’t air anymore? Twisted Whiskers I really liked and it does not air anymore. It shouldn’t be forgotten. Quite an underrated show.
I really liked The Big Bang Theory. It was VERY funny!
I LOVED LazyTown when I was a little kid, it was one of my favorite shows! I grew out of it though. When I was even younger, The Twisted Whiskers Show aired all the time! But not anymore 😦 Peppa Pig I watched…but didn’t really love. I’m not really into shows on Nickelodeon like Adventure Time, Gumball and The regular show or any of the live action ones like Kid Danger.
I have not watched George of the Jungle in a while, but I just realized it’s a Tarzan clone. Tarzan and George are shockingly similar, and Ursula is obviously Jane.
I’m pretty sure it’s a parody. I don’t think it was trying to steel Tarzan’s thunder. At least not the movie, and I’m sure the cartoon series from the '60s is the same story.
Oh, yeah. It’s Disney also. How did I miss that?

I just found about this game called Post-Scriptum, Post Scriptum is a WW2 realism game, focusing on historical accuracy, large scale battles, difficult learning curve and an intense need for cohesion, …
Here’s some screenshots.
This looks outstanding i’ts so beautiful, I hope its coming out on PS4.
It seems like game developers only care about WWII and not WWI.
WOW! This thread is FAST!
Also, to add on to my list of TV shows I have loved:
Tom and Jerry I especially enjoyed it at my friend’s house, which was long ago.
You probably didn’t know what the other show I said was, as It’s forgotten. 😕
There were a lot of TV shows I loved when I was little. A lot of them were 3D and a lot involved cartoon animals that stood on their two feet and barely looked like the real thing. One of the shows was Canadian and was basically Looney Tunes but in 3D. You never saw the human’s faces in the show. I remember an episode which technically played out like a 1920s gangster flick. That show never airs anymore. (Not that I know of) And, beleive it or not, some of the Dragon Ball Z cast starred in that show.
