Thank you Belbucus !

Belbucus writes:

... the original Dolby Stereo featured on the 35mm prints. This was a transfer of the analogue tracks of the 1985 CAV P&S set. Yes, there were alot of missing frames - including gaps as much as 1 second in length when compared to the GOUT track. Other previously documented issues included the wrong Fox logo cue, and some instances of pretty severe "wow" or sudden pitch shift. Everything has been repaired and/or filled from alternate sources, taking great care to match the EQ and level so the fixes integrate seamlessly.

All the major things have been fixed as well as alot of smaller ones. Click and pop removal was done manually
and small doses of decrackling software was applied selectively where needed.

Can you upload it to Megaupload for the people like me who don't have newsgroup access?

Well I finally got around to downloading it. I did notice one shot where you left in the purple guards but it's still a very good DVD. I especially like the commentary track.

You're speaking of the shot in the witch's lair, right? (Maybe not...I'll proceed anyway...heheh.) OCP recently found that guard shot for Mark II (previously cropped out due to a Pan & Scan source), and decided to leave it alone. I noticed that he could have painted Tack's face white for the "leaving the castle" scene, too. But, we all know that if he were to "fix" everything for this edit, he might as well do new animation for all the storyboard shots, too. :-D

Yeah, I mean the one in the Witch's Layer. Thanks for clearing it up.

POLL: Which version of the OT do you own?

1982 SW VHS(Bought for the 35mm stereo mix)
1987 SW VHS signed by Dave Prowse
1992 special letterbox edition(I like to think of this as a poor man's DC set. It came out one year before the DC discs and it was basically a lite version boasting an abridged version of "George Lucas: The Creative Impulse, the 3 movies in letterbox VHS, and "From Star Wars to Jedi")
1995 P&S Faces Set(My first OOT set I bought. Seller on Amazon claimed it was a sealed version of the 1992 set and the idiots on Amazon wouldn't give me a refund)
1997 SE(Bought for completion purposes)
2004 Trilogy(The first set I bought. I just saw RotS in theaters and wanted to check out the originals not realizing what Lucas did to them...)
2006 DVD's

No bootlegs.

Info: Star Trek TNG bonus disks - has anyone done a preservation of them?

If it helps at all, everything that was on the BB bonus discs for TNG & DS9 are contained on the R2/R4 versions as standard.

Doh!

I think that means the rules wont let us talk about distribuiting or downloading the BB bonus discs for TNG and DS9.

How is that bad? Now you don't have to go through hoops to get them.

It's my understanding that such things are visible on the releases we buy in stores as some sort of by-product of the home video process. In theaters on opening day they weren't visible.

Well my dad saw it in theaters and he says the garbage mattes were there too. He didn't mind them though. He remembers them because he said it makes it feel like a video game so I'm not sure if they were there.

Well there are some that come with blank back covers so it wouldn't be hard to make your own.

Oh and just one question before I consider getting the Mono Version:

Are all the features from the Original disc present in the Mono disc? Or was the Isolated Score taken out?

Well judging from the screencaps at http://www.galactictradefederation.com/dvd/OT/edit.html, it probably was. I also heard the picture isn't as good as V2.

You sure? I'm pretty sure those garbage mattes they are fixing were in the theatrical version.

Please folks: no discussion about downloading the official release - even if you have made your own "custom" version. We don't want this site to descend into a warez hotspot.

Thanks for your understanding.

I wholeheartedly agree. I don't like piracy to begin with but this site is supposed to be about preserving not pirating stuff already on DVD.

4) Click the "Stream Processing" tab.

So I uncheck English AC3? Thanks man. You're awesome.

Sorry for the stupid question but I'm a real n00b at this kind of stuff. What options do I select to demux the audio and english AC3 file into seperate streams? Do I just uncheck the box next to it?
