Help: looking for... Prequel Preservations...
Time

I posted this in another thread, but no one's responding to it, so...

Is is possible for anyone to send me these:

The Phantom Menace (original theatrical version)
Best source: TB digital broadcast transfer

I don't know what they mean by that. Assuming they mean TorrentBox by TB, I tried searching the site and I don't think it's on there.

IAttack Of The Clones (original theatrical film version)
Best source: bootleg camcorder transfer

I heard the quality isn't very good for that. I think we should try a composite edit.

Revenge Of The Sith (original theatrical film/theatrical digital version)
Best source: various bootleg digital copies

on DVD?

Well I think it would be best to just try and recreate the wipe. There's a topic about that somewhere around here...

Idea: Preserving STAR TREK - a preservation project?

Yeah, the 40th sucks. We lose Scotty and recently Jane Wyatt (Spock's mother Amanda), and all we get in return is a poorly done "enhanced version" that's becoming more and more like Georgies by the episode.

What do you mean? They're not adding in scenes that never should have been in there or making the Gorn shoot first. They're just converting it to HD and sprucing up the special effects to make it easier for repeated viewings. Besides, the originals are still out there so I don't see the problem.

The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Director's Cut (Released)

On the DVD forums I usually frequent, if anyone mentions the new DVD, I'll point them to my Google Video link. Bootleg stuff is usually frowned upon, but when a studio is this careless with the presentation of a film, they don't deserve anything. It's 2006 and putting a pan & scan DVD from an old composite source is ridiculous.

Indeed. It's horrible how even after 10+ years, they're still treating this masterpiece like dirt.

Esn and Tservo. Yeah, it's unwatchable and I'm glad Ogg was able to bring it to you. You've been very critical (though approving) of my work on the Recobbled Cut, which I actually enjoy because it forces me to be honest and confront the ways in which I did deviate from the workprint. And I could tell you hadn't seen the Miramax cut when commenting. I find that people in general are more critical of the Recobbled Cut, until they see the Miramax Cut. Then they're so shocked that they get very quiet and are just kinda glad that I approached the project with an actual respect for the film!

You're right about that. After seeing the Miramax cut, my view of the film completely changed.

Idea: for... Custom Made DVD Sets

It starts with the basic Best Buy Tin with all three movies in there. (Keep in mind, it doesn't have to be a tin. Any Star Wars box that holds three regular size cases works.) For all three movies, take out the 2004 discs. Replace the 2004 ANH disc with "Star Wars: A Musical Journey." Replace the ROTJ 2004 disc with the Star Wars Bonus Disc from the 2004 release. Take the booklet that came with this and put it behind the ROTJ booklet. On ESB, simply get rid of the disc one holder that swings around, and put the disc in the back.

Wow good idea! Too bad I bought the bundle on starwars.com with the Topps collector card rather than the one with the cool tin.

I've got an idea. I'm gonna put the limited edition releases in the 2004 box set, with also putting in the bonus disc in its own case and putting A Musical Journey in the RotJ case.

The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut on Google Video

I did some modifications since I'm hoping to link to it on a few DVD review sites.

I have the Miramax cut (Letterboxed), Richard Williams and the Thief Who Never Gave Up, A Christmas Carol, and I Drew Roger Rabbit converted, but they're not uploaded yet.

Wow. I never noticed how compressed Google Videos were until I saw that. The film is pretty much unwatchable.

Anyway, I like those changes so far. Did you incorporate your flyover redo or did you use Garret's?

1987 SW VHS signed by Dave Prowse

2006 DVDs WS

No bootlegs.

Prequels:

Also the KCCI broadcast of The Star Wars Holiday Special on my computer

Info: 2006 GOUT DVD using 'Faces' PCM Sound?
Time
Well I just finished downloading the isolated score and it's awesome. I like the way you kept the dialog for the parts without music rather than having pure silence.

EDIT: Also can't wait for that restored mono mix. If the 35mm synced to GOUT and isolated score synced to GOUT where the appetizers, the restored mono mix is the main course and desert.

ALL 5 ORIGINAL APES STORIES RETOLD AND RE-EDITED INTO ONE HUGE 5 1/2 HOUR EPIC!

on 2 DVD-Rs (one single / dual layer), Letterbox, AC-3 Mono, menus, chapter stops, unreleased clasic extras!!!

Now with much darker undertones!!!

Original Version:
"But now, now we will put away our hatred. Now we will put down our weapons. We have passed through the night of the fires and those who were our masters are now our servants. And we, we who are not human, can afford to be humane. Destiny is the will of God. And if it is Man's destiny to be dominated, it is God's will that he be dominated with compassion, and understanding. So cast out your vengance. Tonight we have seen the birth of the Planet of the Apes!"

Fanfiltration Version:
"We have passed through the night of the fires and those who were our masters are now our servants. Destiny is the will of God. And if it is Man's destiny to be dominated, it is God's will that he be dominated with vengance! Tonight we have seen the birth of the Planet of the Apes!"

More to come!

Sweet! I never liked Escape because it was far too light hearted compared to the others. Also glad you're trying to make Conquest even darker than it already is.

*FanFiltration of the Planet of the Apes" is not for sale or to be sold!
(Please go buy the Apes movies on offical DVD!)

I can do you one better. I bought the Ultimate collection complete with the Caesar Ape head!! Can't wait to watch this with the ape head!!

I've got a question though. Is this being done in a circular timeline fashion or an alternative fashion?
