Interesting. I wonder why they did the remix in 1985 for SW, but not for ESB and ROTJ?

Can we pass a hat around? I'd kick in $25.

Frink, I know it's impossible for you and you have to have the last word, but just for once, STFU.
You're the one being completely unreasonable. Go to bed and maybe you'll be less cranky in the morning.
The audio options include all three 1977 mixes in DTS-HD-MA format; the original 70mm six-track was recreated by hairy_hen,
the original stereo mix was captured from LaserDisc PCM and fixed up by hairy_hen and the original mono mix was restored
by Belbucus. Also included is an isolated score track, four different commentary tracks and a British commentary
for visually impaired.
This is very minor, and maybe intentional on your part, but in this paragraph you do not mention the 1985 and 1993 mixes. They don't necessarily need to be mentioned here since they are part of the overall list, but I figured I'd point it out just in case.
I believe Teeceezy said he had it... I'll see if I can get it from him.
Harmy, hairy_hen, sorry, I know I've asked this a million times, but I was wondering if the 1985 mix was going to be included in 2.5? Harmy, I believe you said you would include it if you got the file from h_h. Just wanted to see how that was going. The completist in me would love to see all the audio tracks together. Again, sorry I've asked this so many times! :)
Yeah, I think I read in zombie's book the theory that SOTE was sort of a test run for the prequels, to see how the public would respond to new SW material.
Random thought on Ep VII:
So, a lot of people joke that JJ Abrams' ST09 was "the best SW movie since ROTJ," and that it was more of a SW movie than a ST movie (ie, ST isn't supposed to be so action-y).
Got me thinking, it would be pretty ironic if Ep VII turned out as "the best ST movie since _____" (sorry, not a ST fan, don't know much about the series). Like, instead of an action-y SW movie, JJ Abrams makes a more philosophical, thinking-man's scifi movie (ie, more in line with ST).
Probably won't happen, but who knows, nothing would surprise me.
Sigh... thinking about X-Wing, Dark Forces, and Rebel Assault brings me back to such a happy, simpler time when I was a teen in the early/mid 90s. Such a great time to be a Star Wars fan, and a PC game fan. Yesterday I actually fired up X-Wing on my laptop and read through some of the old mission briefings. Man, they bring back memories. I probably did play them too much though!
"Princess, we have a visitor. We picked up something outside the base's zone 12 moving east."
"It's metal."
Have a kick-ass heavy metal riff play here, perhaps some old school Metallica. You could also have the riff replace the "scanner of the system... scanner of the sys" sound the probe droid makes.
If you wanted to get really fancy, you could try to construct a mini metal song, sampling "it's metal" and other pieces of dialog from the scene/movie.
Who are you?
Well, here's hoping they do release the raw scans they've been sitting on for a while, before it's too late.
Obviously, it was the will of the Force.
Have Luke ask Yoda several times, "Is ______ my father?"
Fill in the blank with various names/dialogue Luke has said throughout the movies: Princess Leia, Ben Kenobi, Han, Biggs, Master Yoda, R2, Threepio, my father, the Death Star, the tower, Jabba, Aunt Beru, Luke Skywalker, attack pattern delta, etc. The possibilities are endless.
Every time he asks, show Yoda with a skeptical/disappointed look on his face, or have him say no. Have Luke ask again, and fill in the blank with a different name. Repeat.
Is there a release date?
I hope this doesn't come across as rude, but what exactly are you trying to accomplish with this project?
I think adding "professional" to the title is great. It conveys the idea that a lot of effort was put into the documentary and that it wasn't just made for shits and giggles.
Awesome, hairy_hen, looking forward to your always excellent work with the audio tracks. Do you by any chance have the lossless 1985 mix, and if so were you planning on encoding it for inclusion with Harmy's v2.5? Not sure where it's available, but I believe Teeceezy said he had it.
Take Ben's "Oh, don't worry, he'll be all right," and have it play over the shot of the severed arm on the floor of the cantina.
In the Falcon cockpit, when Luke, Ben, and Han are discussing what happened to Alderaan, add Luke's line, "It looks like sand people did this, all right. Look, there's gaffi sticks, bantha tracks. It's just… I've never heard of them hitting anything this big before."
It would probably be a waste of time, but you never know... maybe we could try to get Disney's attention that a lot of fans would like to hear the Fox fanfare? Start a petition, or tweet the idea to people who could do something?
IMO, KOTCS is meh, highly flawed, but has a few enjoyable parts. It's fun at times. I agree with Dominic- it's better than most blockbuster fare. I can picture myself watching it again someday, unlike the Temple of Doom (which is a horror movie for 12 year olds). I agree with Bingo that Raiders is really the only proper Indy film (and it is phenomenal). Crusade is mostly enjoyable, but it's really just a spoof of Raiders. Very similar to how Terminator 3 is a spoof of T2 (and is mostly bad, except for the ending).
The PT discussion on here is interesting... IMO, the PT failed miserably as films in general, but failed EVEN WORSE as SW movies. From my view as a SW fan, I can't think of anything they got right... it's all so, so wrong...
I would bet my life savings that the ST will be better than the PT. Not saying it will be great (or even good), just that I literally don't see how it's possible for it to be worse than the PT.
Wow, all these audio differences are really interesting. I would love to see it get GOUT-synced and included with Harmy's 2.0.
Here's a question... what was the purpose of the 16mm? Was it ever shown in theaters? Was it for TV stations or something?
Sounds awesome, Harmy. I'm sure we'd all be happy with whatever route you decide to take, but my vote would be for intermediate releases, ie, start with the quicker 2.0 "workprint," release it, get feedback from OT.com, etc., then work on perfecting it to make 2.5 (which like you said could take a very long time).

i'll take the OT in dvd quality.
I died a little inside, and I don't even desperately want the OUT. Don't settle man. Fans deserve Blu-ray minimum, and a Ultra-HD prepared scan ideally.
it should be remasterd in hi def, but i don't really care for blu ray.
Why don't you care for blu ray?
Whoa... interesting.
