Frink, you aren't going to get like this on FE are you? If so, we will be in a serious situation.

Can't wait to see it Georgie! I'm sure those VHS transfers will look great in 1080p.
Make sure that 3D conversion is too dark, adds very little depth, and makes everyone look like a cardboard cut out, just the way I like it.
I can try, but if you need new effects paragraphs done I'd suggest talking to adywa... oh wait...
So I was planning on having an April Fools clip ready for this edit, but I ended up working a double today so that didn't play out. It will, however, be on the DVD, and it turned out pretty damn funny. I had some fun with the narration, we'll say. I was planning on doing a couple of joke clips on the DVD actually. I want to have some fun with the bonus features, for certain.
I'm working on a new trailer, with some narration in it this time. I also want to release some "mini-clips" over the course of working on this. Rather than reveal all of my changes before the edit is released, I'm going to show little snippets of things I'm working on. Very short clips that just give you a bit of a tease. I think I spoiled too much of my ROTJ edit over the course of its development, with this one I want to leave a bit more to the imagination until it gets released. Which will hopefully be toward the end of the summer/early fall.
I'm going to go ahead and say now that I will not be doing this edit in 5.1 surround. I just don't have a surround set up, so any errors in my audio editing can be very difficult to hear for me. Rather than run into that here like I did on ROTJ, I'm just going to stick with Stereo. With so much sound editing going on, I think it's just going to be easier for me and ensure the best possible results.
CGI sewing kit for the win!
Me too! Me too!
DTS definitely. So you can hear Jefferson Starship in all their late 70's glory.
Haha!
Anybody see the april fools joke over at TFN? They have a relatively convincing article about the blu-ray release of The Holiday Special. Very funny.
My friend saw an advanced copy and he didn't report any changes.
Haha great picture. That last comment of mine was funnier in my head than it reads. Ill delete it of you want Frink. Sorry if it was too much.
EDIT: Yeah I deleted it, I was uncomfortable with it.
DELETED: That joke came out more offensive than intended.
Bollocks. Bollocks I say!
I really hope that this is all a joke, or we're all gonna feel a bit silly tomorrow.

I have it on good authority that Lucas has actually restored the original versions of the SW movies and that they will be released exactly one year from today.
I'm going to put this nicely... FUCKING BULLSHIT!
Sorry, I apologize for my outburst. I momentarily forgot what the date was and I got excited for about 30 seconds.
Ok, now that we've been off topic for a bit (and got a way with it!) anybody got an opinion on my Darth Maul question froma few posts back?
Dammit!
This is my sock account by the way, I took my time with it to make sure it looked legit.
I'd really like Moth3r to chime in.
Well, you aren't preserving the original versions that have been officially released on DVD already, so why not?
The article i read didn't specify. Considering it was from Fox News, I'd go with Las Vegas.
I heard that he was using our donation money to do ellicit things in Vegas. He also shared this money with his friend Charlie Sheen, who he has now also screwed over. Adywan will now take his place on Two and a Half Men as the distant cousin that speaks only in Star Wars references. To disguise his identity his face on the show will be combined with Ian McDiarmid's, and many will compain the face will be "too shadowy" and have "an awkward smile."
I did think my donations might have been going to hair product, however.
I'm really really hoping so, but it's a little too convincing for my liking.
I know this is off topic, but I really, really hope that things can get sorted out with Adywan if this is in fact not an April fools joke.
Ady's projects have brought many people to these forums and introduced them to many of our projects both here and on FE.org. He has been a huge help to me in the past in completing some of my projects, graciously taking time away from his work to answer my silly noob questions. Banning Adywan from OT is sort of like banning Mickey Mouse from Disneyland. He's one of the main attractions.
If this is all a joke, then Ady just take that as a tribute to how important you are to the site and how we appreciate you. If it's not a joke, then know I fully disagree with the mods on this one, and I bet a lot of other people feel the same way.
And I know I may get a warning for this based on it being off topic and anti-moderator; if that's the case then so be it.
Want! I would like to at least see how it turned out before I ask about permission.
Trying some new music tracks for the Darth Maul fight. So far O Fortuna by Orff and Pruit Igoe by Phillip Glass are my favorites.
As much as it seems weird to remove Duel of the Fates from an edit titled Duel of the Fates, I wanted to try and reserve that song for things relating to Anakin. I want it to be emotionally tied to him and important things that happen to him. Basically it should play when he is fighting with himself. Since he has nothing to do with the Maul fight, something similar in sound but not that song seems appropriate. I want to keep that choral/pagan sort of sound for it. If possible, I'd like to make Maul seem even more ferocious and terrifying.
As of right now, I have the fight broken up into two sections. The first section takes us through to the ray shield hall way, the second takes us through the ray shields reopening to the death of Darth Maul. It's broken up by a heavily shortened space battle sequence where Anakin purposefully flies into the Droid ship an destroys it. The fight is much faster, many of the longest camera shots and wide shots are shortened or deleted to give the thing a ferocious speed. Basically it comes off that the only way Obi-Wan defeats Maul is because he became more intense, more angry, and more ferocious. He gives into the dark side to finish Maul off. Obi-Wan falling into the pit is removed, he just gets the upper hand with his attacks and splits him in half. It's pretty darn cool. I've not seen anybody edit the battle in that way, where the dynamics of it are changed slightly to give it a different impact. I'm very happy with the sequence.
Something else I'm playing with is should I include the scene of Palpatine and Maul talking. It's nice exposition as to what is going on with the Sith, but at the same time having Maul be a silent, unstoppable force of nature may be much more effective. Thoughts?
